Gear fit Pro 2 Band
I have had ongoing issues with my Gearfit Pro 2 band. Within the first year it broke twice, the first time I took it in for service they replaced it under warranty, within 3 weeks it broke again and they would not take it back, I had to stand my ground as the guy kept on saying it is OK now, even though it would fall off in bed and at work. Eventually they repaired it. It broke again during the pandemic, so when we were able to travel to the city I took it in and ordered a new band. Within a few months of receiving that it broke, I sent it bac...k and it was repaired. It has come off a few times since but I keep on clipping it back on and am always looking to make sure it hasn't fallen off. It has broken again, one side of the band came off in three parts when I was at work. I am over Samsung watches (unfortunately as I have a Samsung phone). I am going to buy another brand and use it with my Samsung phone. Very disappointed.
Purchased in April 2019 for $380.

Didn't meet my expectations
The Gear Fit 2 Pro was my first fitness tracker. My main activities are swimming (both pool & open water) as well as walking, running and cycling. Many of my swimming friends were using fitness trackers and smart watches to track their workouts and events. A large bulk of them had the Apple Watch which produced some really good maps of swims. So this is what prompted me to look at a wearable. I have a Samsung S8 and have loved all my Samsung phones so it was natural that a Samsung wearable was my go to. For Christmas 2017 I got myself this watc...h. I purchased it through a Speedo Shop, and it was sold to me as a great swimming watch featuring the Speedo On app. It was not cheap at the time with a price tag of around $300+. Yesterday after my swim it appeared to be flat but on return to home it had apparently died. Couldn't even charge it to do a reboot. I've had a chequered history with this device but feel I am done with Samsung Wearables. Most of my compatriots that aren't using Apple Watches are using Garmins and have very favourable experiences so I moving over to them. Overall my view of the Gear Fit 2 Pro is that it's probably ok for someone involved in base level recreation and fitness activities but not ideal for hard core training, especially for swimming. Pro's are: It looks good and feels comfortable to wear, Good resolution screen, touch screen that is easy to use, 2 simple push buttons which are easy to navigate, has it's own built in fitness apps but also supports other apps such as MapMyRun, Strava and Speedo On, It connects and synchronises really well with my phone as well as receives notifications from various apps and phone calls. Cons are: It died after 2 years (I exercised daily with reasonable effort), HR sensor inferior to Apple and Garmin (slow to pick up HR, sometimes read double actual HR at rest and often froze when performing activity at higher intenisty), Very Poor Battery (without doing a workout requires recharging after 1 day, but flattens very quickly with a work out, often dropping from 100% to less than 30% for a 30 to 60 min workout) Poor GPS (takes some time to acquire GPS and Maps of routes are often incomplete due to this and drop outs), Poor performance as a swimming tracker (Speedo On works ok but not always accurate in the pool. When I first got the Gear Fit, the Speedo On app was so poor I stopped using the whole watch in the pool, but then there was an update and it did improve markedly. The watch also doesn't manage open water swimming well, unable to even remotely record adequate distance and maps), Poor durability of the watch band (In the 2 and a bit years I had the watch I had to get a new watch band. To Samsung's credit the first band was replaced under warranty, but after a year the outer layers of the second band were peeling again making the watch look shabby), Small screen makes it difficult to read if you use glasses, especially in the pool, also tricky to read in the sunlight. Overall, I don't think the Gear Fit 2 Pro is a bad product, but it's not heavy duty enough for semi serious to serious athletes who want spot on accurate data. My confidence with this wearable is not high due to the reasons I've given above,so I won't be looking at their other models. I bought my wife an Apple Watch 3 last year and it absolutely trumps this product, which is disappointing as Samsung is such a great brand. The only thing stopping me from moving to an Apple Watch is that it can only pair with iPhone and I am more than happy with my S8. My research and feedback from friends has lead me to the Garmin. Sorry Samsung
Purchased in December 2017 at Speedo for $329.
Not really water proof. Band easily breaks. Otherwise great little watch.
Great device. Bought myself and hubby one
1. Water proofing not good. Had to be fixed in first year. Now 2-3 months later went in surf watch will not turn on even after rinsing. Looks like another trip to repair, as I suspect its a leak again I hope it comes under their warranty. Not willing to pay for it just to leak a 3rd time.
2. Hubby's band broke, Samsung dont supply spare bands and want to charge to put one on as it's not covered under warranty. Got generic from ebay which broke, got 2nd from ebay, lasting well.

Bad battery life, impossible to charge
I've had this for just over 2 years and im totally over it. Charge lasts less than a day and the charging dock is extremely unreliable. I put it on charge and it sometimes never charges, its a bad design. The band has also worn badly and looks shabby.
Purchased in October 2017.
good at first then dies
on my second gearfit 2 now and both have died with black screens.
second one after i fitted screen protector.
wife also has one that has had a few glitches but now ok. just waiting for it to fail now.
not worth the hassle of getting repaired cos second hand ones are cheap but most likely will fail also
Gear fit 2 won't hold a charge
I wear my Gear Fit 2 everyday and even when I charge it over night the charge will not last an entire 24 hours. I workout at lunch and if I don't turn the watch off after a hard workout the watch will continue to think I am still working out which runs down the battery. I was very happy until apparently an update was done to contribute to this draining. I have turned off everything I can think of and really only rely on it for counting steps now. With the drainage of the battery I am unable to utilize the watch for much else. I have have replaced my watch several times to no avail.
Purchased in March 2018 for $130.
Good fitness tracker that doesn't last long
The Gear Fit Pro 2 was a decent fitness tracker and synced to my Samsung phone. Unfortunately, a few months after buying it the screen started flickering with white lines, and going black, to the point where it was unusable. According to what I've read online, this is a common issue with this model. It was still under warranty but Samsung REFUSED to fix it as they was a microscopic scuff on it, which they claimed was due to dropping the device. I NEVER dropped it, it was only normal wear and tear, but they absolutely refused to fix it. This is the second time Samsung have not delivered on their Warranty. I will not be buying from Samsung again. Buyers Beware!!
Purchased in June 2018 for $260.
A sports watch that can't sweat it!
My Gear Fit 2 Pro, purchased in November 2017 was all that I needed to record my bi-weekly running sessions. Unfortunately, the watch did not cope with sweat and the strap links corroded within 12 months. A sports watch should be able to handle a sports environment. Difficult to use on-line options to get some attention from Samsung in relation to wearables!
Purchased in November 2017.
Woefully inaccurate, terrible battery
Battery is lucky to get 24 hours between need to recharge. Most activity measurements are terribly inaccurate - heart rate monitor, Concept 2 rowing machine is 50% out (under measure), pedometer is 30% out (under). Latest phone software upgrade means constant notifications when moving 10m away from the phone. Come to the conclusion it is a waste of money and misleading in its out put. Would not consider another Samsung wearable.
limited battery life
Battery life is, without a doubt, one of the biggest factors to consider when purchasing a fitness tracker. But limited battery life.
It features the same dual-core Exynos 3250 clocked at 1.6GHz found in the Samsung Gear S2, way up from the custom M4 processor that ran at 160MHz in the Samsung Gear Fit.
FOR:Refined look,Broader compatibility,Impressive value
AGAINST:Barometer issues,Doesn't feature an alarm natively,Limited battery life
Bluetooth connection problems
I have regularly been exoeriencing Bluetooth connectivity and communication problems with Android phone and gear fit 2 pro. Soft resets and re-pairing did not solve problem. I had to carryout a hard reset of the gear fit losing my data and settings to fix the problem. Hopefully this will not be a regular occurrence.
The 22 hour a day fitness tracker
The Samsung Gear Fit 2 Pro should be great - but it is let down by its software, build quality and battery life
It is light, comfortable and the screens are easily reorganised to show desired information
Even on the brightest setting it was difficult to read the watch outside and impossible to read in full sun
The heart rate tracking is very inaccurate - walk up a set of stairs and it will invariably fail to measure any increase. But it also has the annoying habit of showing multiples of the actual heart rate. With continuous heart rat...e tracking turned on the battery only lasts 1 day - then it needs an hour of charging Every month the watch and phone app lose contact. Samsung told me to uninstall and reinstall the phone app - but that failed to fix the problem. A factory reset of the watch did fix the problem - but you then lose a full day of recording
First swim last week and turned on Speedo On which activates water lock. Swam 60 minutes. I dried device then turned off water lock. 2 Green light flashing the entire time. Would only stop flashing when device was turned off and on. Same thing on 2nd swim. Contacted Samsung online service. Did reset. 3rd swim same thing. Service dept. states device is only good for 30 minutes in the water. No where does it state that in instructions. Nor on app. Samsung wants me to take it to nearest service centre which is an hour drive. If it has ...water in it, they will not fix it. I have only ever used it with the water lock on! How is this a swim tracker if it can only be used 30 minutes in the pool? As a swimmer, I swim for an hour. If it is meant for swimming and water lock was activated each time and it has water in it, is it not a defect in the Gear Fit 2 Pro? It is brand new but Samsung will not do an exchange. Only a repair as long as there is no water damage. I am very disappointed. My sister swears by Apple and I have always said Samsung is the best. Not any more! Currently own 11 Samsung devices. This is my last one. Samsung you have lost a loyal customer. When I activate water lock, 2 green light flash instantly. Service never said if this is normal!

Not a bad smart watch but failed as a fitness tracker
It looks good but I found a few pitfalls which their support couldnt address.
1. Sleep tracking is not accurate.
2. Doesnt accuratelly register steps when I go for a walk with a pram. It doesnt rwgiater any steps at all, or says that I do cycling which is rediculous
I honestly just used it as a watch, not a fitness tracker. I ended up selling it due to inaccurate activity tracking.

Battery life makes the Gear Fit 2 useless
I have purchased the Gear Fit2 pro 8-9 months ago. On the paper its great. When it works even better. The problem is that it doesn't work due to the very short battery life. Battery drains in 6-8 hours. Yes, 6-8 hours. GPS drains it even faster so its always off - waste of money. Wifi - the same. Music - even worse.
You pay for GPS MP3 and other options but you can't use them so what was the point. Battery drains so fast with GPS on that i can't even finish a 1 hour run with GPS and MP3.
Questions & Answers
Hi I have a gear fit 2 pro and the best watch ever. Recently it stopped showing steps and heart rate. The lights on the back no longer light up.
I have looked after the watch and it is not treated roughly as I have a heart condition.
Can you help? Cheers Al Rennie
Hi Al, I recommend taking your device to the nearest service centre so we can take a look at this for you.

Have the gear fit 2 pro. Yesterday it turned off and won't come back on. Does not appear to be charging..plugged into computer and said missing Bluetooth perphial driver. Removed device from computer to see if computer reconized it but no luck. What do i do now?!!!!
I'd like to replace my watch band with the exact one it came with. Where can I buy them from? Amazon has bands for the watch, which I purchased but of course not the same quality. As well they do not attach properly as the original band did.
Other than that I have had absolutely no issues with the watch at all and am enjoying wearing it.
