This product has been fairly reliable. The only problem I have is that it refuses to register the end of my exercise time if I go over 40 minutes. I have to shut it off and lose my exercise time. If I don't turn it off it will use up the battery. I do like the sleep tracker and the product has held up very well otherwise.
Great daily driver for non-intensive use
I've had this watch for three years now and it's still going strong. Love how small and narrow it is. I've had to replace the band once, mainly due to my own doing (got stuck behind a chair). Tip: replace the standard band with a metal link one. I bought a third party band online and it makes the watch look quite classy. Some reviewers here get very angry over a broken band, it is a small and cheap effort to replace it.
There is one catch: I don't use it for intensive exercise, got a chest strap for that. I don't think the watch is water proof as even sweaty palms can throw it off balance. It is perfectly fine for running, cycling and hiking though. Live the built in GPS.

Not really water proof. Band easily breaks. Otherwise great little watch.
Great device. Bought myself and hubby one
1. Water proofing not good. Had to be fixed in first year. Now 2-3 months later went in surf watch will not turn on even after rinsing. Looks like another trip to repair, as I suspect its a leak again I hope it comes under their warranty. Not willing to pay for it just to leak a 3rd time.
2. Hubby's band broke, Samsung dont supply spare bands and want to charge to put one on as it's not covered under warranty. Got generic from ebay which broke, got 2nd from ebay, lasting well.

Great smartwatch for the average exerciser
This watch gets mixed reviews online but it works well enough for me and if you have the same needs, I recommend it to you too. I do one session of exercise every few days, am not a professional or serious amateur, exercise indoors and out, and don't wear my smartwatch for anything but exercise.
Favourite features: available for good prices online (e.g. less than $100), has preset exercise types (e.g. running, walking, elliptical), quick launch of music, connects to Spotify offline (no need to carry your phone around!), sufficiently accurate m...

Best swimming/running sportswatch I've found - at a price that doesn't break the bank
After owning the Samsung Gear Fit2 Pro smartwatch for nearly 3 months and using it regularly for swimming, running and cycling it's hard to pass up at the price (below $200). I specifically like the long, thin format of the screen (rather than the 'round' watches) as it makes it seem less bulky - and the high quality and clarity of the display still allows a lot of info to be displayed.
It reliably counts my swim laps, records lap times, and even records heartrate during the swim - the first waterproof wearable I've found that does this reli...ably (though I haven't tried an Apple Watch because of the price). So far I've had no issues with the waterproofing. I've followed the general guidelines that apply to all waterproof watches I've previously owned - to NOT press the watch buttons when the watch is submerged. Also make sure you have the Fit2 PRO, not the Fit2 (non-pro), which is NOT waterproof. It has in-built GPS so can track your run or ride as well as recording speeds, heartrate, pace, etc without needing to take your phone with you, and also has built-in memory so you can download MP3 music/audio files to the watch and listen to them while exercising, using your bluetooth headphones/earbuds. There are many different customised watch faces you can download from the Samsung store, so you're sure to find one that suits you - though they all pretty much report the same stats. Being a smartwatch, it interfaces with your mobile phone via bluetooth to display SMS/email/facebook/etc alerts. It also has built-in WiFi that you can use to allow the watch to directly access websites (e.g. for weather information). The only drawbacks are that maximum functionality and access to apps is only available if you have an Android phone that has more than 2GB system memory (no not storage memory). I mainly use an iPhone and, while it works ok generally, I have to put up with a somewhat limited level of functionality (not all apps are accessible from the Samsung store when you try to download via an iPhone). Before you ask... no, you can't pair the watch to more than one phone to download the apps through the Android but use it day-to-day with an iPhone. You can only pair it with one phone at a time and, as soon as you pair it, it resets the watch back to defaults - wiping any apps you may have previously downloaded. It also has limited integration with common health apps and relies on the 'Samsung Health' app to facilitate this (doesn't happen directly from the watch).
limited battery life
Battery life is, without a doubt, one of the biggest factors to consider when purchasing a fitness tracker. But limited battery life.
It features the same dual-core Exynos 3250 clocked at 1.6GHz found in the Samsung Gear S2, way up from the custom M4 processor that ran at 160MHz in the Samsung Gear Fit.
FOR:Refined look,Broader compatibility,Impressive value
AGAINST:Barometer issues,Doesn't feature an alarm natively,Limited battery life
Look it fits good and charges real quick, helps me heaps. Keeps my carb intake in check, hsndy to keep an eye on my heartrate and keeps progress of work done and milestones reached. Has good reminders so no excuses for missing a day, yep I wear it everywhere, cheap.

Not a bad smart watch but failed as a fitness tracker
It looks good but I found a few pitfalls which their support couldnt address.
1. Sleep tracking is not accurate.
2. Doesnt accuratelly register steps when I go for a walk with a pram. It doesnt rwgiater any steps at all, or says that I do cycling which is rediculous
I honestly just used it as a watch, not a fitness tracker. I ended up selling it due to inaccurate activity tracking.
Capable and comfortable
The Gearfit 2 Pro is my third fitness tracker. (The previous one, a Fitbit Alta, still works fine, but I needed something with a bigger display.) I wanted one that looked like a fitness tracker, not a watch style, as I wear a watch on my left wrist and the tracker on my right, and wearing two watches would look weird. The Samsung took some setting up, as I did not realise that you need to have Bluetooth switched on both on your phone AND on the tracker. (Obviously I am a baby boomer and still getting used to these things.) When I had done this..., the pairing process went smoothly. The device can be used standalone, but it is well worth going to the trouble of pairing it in order to access the apps and different watch faces. The battery life is definitely not as good as the Fitbit, but it does a lot more and has many more options. (The Samsung Health app drained my phone battery too; I have made some changes to its settings that I hope will address this.) If you are conservative with the heart rate tracking and alerts that you set up, and avoid the GPS, the battery life can go to two days. If you specifically want location tracking, for cycling or running, expect to charge it each day. I only use it for walking, Pilates and gym. The device itself is light and comfortable. I have a fairly small wrist, but I needed the large size. Guys with thick wrists might need to make sure that it will fit them.
Gear fit 2 Pro
A reasonably good update to the Gear Fit 2. The biggest difference with the earlier generation being the Water Proofing and support for the Speedo swimming app which works well. Unfortunately some of the deficiencies of the earlier release still apply like the issues with charging a depleted battery Gear Fit 2 (doesn't work reliably with its charger but works ok with a laptop USB port).

Balanced watch with some drawbacks
Bought this device as I cycle and play sport regularly, and was interested in tracking times, heart rate, and other stats. At the moment I am 50/50 on whether I will keep this watch or resell it.
The smartwatch functions on this phone are useful. You are able to read text messages, and FB or Whatsapp messages, as well as receive notifications from any app you enable. Being able to respond to messages is also handy, although this is only done through preset responses (which you are able to edit from your phone). You can also control music bei...ng played through your phone, or physically store music on the watch for phone-free playback while exercising (bluetooth headphones required). The battery is fine, I charge the watch every few days. There are steps you can take to reduce battery drain, such as changing the automatic heart rate checks between 'Never', 'Frequent', and 'Always' - mine is set to 'Frequent', and takes a reading roughly every 20-30 mins. My main fault with the device is that the heart rate monitor is not as accurate as I'd like, particularly while cycling. The device requires you to be quite still and dry in order to take a reading, so working up a sweat on Sydney's bumpy roads means there are periods where no reading is able to be taken. The built-in GPS seems reasonably accurate when traveling from A to B, but will struggle to remain accurate for more confined movement such as jogging laps around an oval. The sleep monitor seems useless, I have yet to see it drop below 85% "efficiency", although this number is not defined anywhere. Overall I'd say this is a great device if you are looking for a solid exercise watch with bonus smartwatch features. The watch is capable of tracking speed, heart rate and elevation during exercise, and gives you info about average pace and (estimated) calories burned. However if you are a serious or competitive athlete you will likely find this device doesn't give you the accuracy or depth of data you would require to improve performance.

Samsung Gear Fit2 Pro: Pros outweigh Cons
Probably one of the better smartwatch/fitness bands in the market at this time.
- Light weight. Compared to the higher functionality smartwatches, this device definitely excels in the weight/comfort department. This is especially important when wearing it to sleep to monitor the sleeping heart rate/patterns. It is also beneficial when swimming.
- Battery life. You would need to turn off the wifi settings and turn down low the brightness settings (5 is a good compromise of readable display and battery life) to give it a reasonable bat...
Questions & Answers
Hi I have a gear fit 2 pro and the best watch ever. Recently it stopped showing steps and heart rate. The lights on the back no longer light up.
I have looked after the watch and it is not treated roughly as I have a heart condition.
Can you help? Cheers Al Rennie

Have the gear fit 2 pro. Yesterday it turned off and won't come back on. Does not appear to be charging..plugged into computer and said missing Bluetooth perphial driver. Removed device from computer to see if computer reconized it but no luck. What do i do now?!!!!
I'd like to replace my watch band with the exact one it came with. Where can I buy them from? Amazon has bands for the watch, which I purchased but of course not the same quality. As well they do not attach properly as the original band did.
Other than that I have had absolutely no issues with the watch at all and am enjoying wearing it.
