Samsung not supportive when intermittent and irregular faults. Terrible Samsung Customer Care Service.
Update 23/03/2021 - Samsung are the second worst company I have ever dealt with when problems occur, I just have no respect for the company’s customer service anymore. Would not replace my faulty TV and just wanted to keep repairing it, which was not working. Total Tossers!!!
Great TV when it works, but intermittent and irregular faults with interface, WIFI and download speed and latency that creates a functioning lag and causes some apps to not perform as intended.
(It is like trying to do a hill start with your handbrake still on).
Repor...ted to Samsung and they tried to repair it, but intermittent and irregular faults still exist. As unit is six months old and I was happy for an attempt to repair it, which did not work, I asked for a new replacement unit and Samsung Customer Care want to be difficult and do more tests and repairs. I asked again for a replacement unit and to date have received no support from Samsung Customer Care so made contact with the Harvey Norman Store I purchased it from who are trying to help.

OK for elderly people in brightly lit rooms
The biggest annoying issue is scheduled TV programs. I wish there was a way to turn off that feature for the elderly person who uses it. She thinks the TV has a mind of its own after she accidentally schedules a program. The colors fade slightly when viewing at a wide angle but I expected that. I tried to get the best 43" TV for a well lit room and an elderly person who just wanted a basic TV with good sound. The sound is clear enough for ordinary healthy young people but not great for mid range deaf people or audiologists.
Crystal clear viewing better than our Q60R Samsung
Surprisingly great crystal clear viewing , bought in NZ from Harvey Norman for Mother’s bedroom and viewing is much clearer than the Samsung we recently got (Feb 2020) for lounge which is the now discontinued QLED Q60R . All apps work on this TU8000 , Netflix , tvnz On Demand , Freeview , Apple TV and has Gallery so with iPhone app we can have her wallpaper displayed while off . She is using old remote from Samsung curved tv JU6600 (fantastic tv) , that pixels started dropping off after 5 years (replaced under NZ’s CGA with the disappointing QR...60R) ; as she wouldn’t be able to figure out tizen remote that comes with it . Don’t use many outputs so can’t comment , sound reasonable, (no complaints from Mum so must be ok as being old , her hearing is not what it used to be)..only wish is..that I’d gone bigger next size up as this is 43” . Purchased on Black Friday sales Nov 2020 so have had a month and a few weeks .

Alright, but some very rude design and missing some features
As a TV:
- basic functionality is fine - it shows pictures and plays sounds reasonably well
- included remote is good - I like the simplicity
The OS is a let-down:
- built-in advertising on the home menu is outright rude. You've got your pound of flesh, Samsung.
- included apps that you can't delete (can hide) also feels really sleazy
- ethernet port is a positive...

Good Unit - Rich with functionality and easy to use
The review of the product would be a 4.5. But the service and support a solid 5.0
The picture is good
Had some issues with the unit first - due to interfacing it with a PVR which passed on the signal
That seemed to degrade the picture quality slightly
Contacted SAMSUNG as per below
Excellent service... Excellent support... Very responsive... Including Saturdays
Using their Messenger Service - VERY EASY
Easy to pair with other devices...

Not as good as hoped
I purchased a Samsung UA43TU8000WXXY on 21 July 2020. I am endeavouring to “set up” and am finding the remote completely unhelpful bordering on the user antagonistic. This TV is replacing a Samsung UA40J6200 – completely user friendly. My major problem is being unable to pair my Pioneer Bluetooth earphones SE-MJ553BT-K to the new TV. The headphones are not listed on Blue tooth device list. The UA43TU8000WXXY does not have a sports option for clearer picture and sound.
My previous Samsung used these headphone without “issue”.

A Quality Product
Have had this TV for a couple of months now & I am very impressed with its silky design & build quality, ease of setup, picture quality & reliable internet connection. Sound quality was lacking & I paired it with the stunning Sonos Beam & I have a match made in heaven!! The minimalist remote is an eye opener, simple, intuitive, yet has full functionality. Overall, this is a quantum leap in technology at an affordable price.

It's a solid performer with some points to keep in mind
This is a good viewing tv as long as you set it up correctly.
Due to the viewing angles, make sure you have the tv at eye level , not too high or too low, and
as long as you are not too far off to the side, the picture quality is excellent.
Some Star Wars film on Disney Plus with dark scenes and a kind of a fog effect are handled poorly.
eg. the beginning of The Rise of Skywalker Episode 9.
A hint for those that hate the little remote, your old Samsung remotes still handle many functions.

Solid TV for the Money
Was after the smallest 4K TV due to wall mounting in a office above current monitors. Was between this and the competing LG UN7300. No Qled LS01 was available at the time of purchase this size. This has Apple Airplay which works great. Its a shame Samsung does not have Chromecast built in to save another power lead for my chrome ultra cast attached. Viewing angles are better then what I was expecting in a none OLED Tv especially since Rtings gave it only a 5.5 in viewing angle. Angles are fine for me and a improvement over a tv from a few year...s ago. I was after a tv that has strong blacks and is not overtly bright at night and this one covers perfectly. I have the LG's bigger brother. The LG remote and WEBOS system is better with its air mouse curser (what I call it) but the samsung one works fine and the remove is smaller. The Ambient display mode looks great. While not OLED or QLED its a great tv for the money.

Average. The aged Sony it replaced was way better to use and better picture.
I have always been a Sony TV guy. We decided to upgrade the old Sony for a bigger screen during the lockdown as we are watching more TV. I really expected a much improved picture for a 4K UHD TV.
The Samsung had lots of HDMI ports but no headphone socket, no component video, and no RCA audio output, only optical digital. So no quiet listening using headphones, and no external stereo - unless you plan to upgrade to bluetooth headphones, and optical connect stereo.
The remote and screen interface takes some getting used to. It is not int...uitive. Fast channel scroll is a different button from individual channel scroll. Screen presentation is clunky and you can easily select some incorrect feature and the screen will lock up whilst it gets you connected to some external service you don't want. The remote is physically tiny. If you are dedicated user of Amazon or Netflix or one of the other limited streaming services it supports or you are an Alexia fan and wish to control your washing machine as well you might be happy. There is even a "Netflix" button on the remote control. Fortunately we have an Apple TV device and that has been great. Much better interface and much easier to use. If I could take the Samsung back and swap for a Sony I would.

Questions & Answers
weve just purchased this tv and are having a real issue with finding freeview on it . it has freeview on demand but no freeview app. whats going on? Wendy
Hi Wendy, whilst I'm no tech expert, if you press the Home button on your remote and scroll across to Source, you should see Samsung TV............Freeview should be available. Better still, go to the Apps icon and put all the channels you want to watch on your Home page at he bottom of the screen. Much easier and quicker. that seems to work well and have had no trouble with that. good luck.
