Great so far
I purchased this TV second-hand from Cash Converters Moonah TAS in May 2021. Difficult for me to be objective about this TV especially after you consider what I had been watching for many years.
My old TV set up was a very old TCL CRT TV coupled with a HD DGTEC Digital set top box so you can see that was quite a change going from a CRT TV to a UHD 4K Smart TV. Think of all the various TV’s in between that I skipped over on my way to the one I have now eg Wide screen TV’s, Rear Projection TV’s , Plasma TV’s, early LED TV’s, early LCD TV’s etc. ...I think anything would have been an improvement after watching a very old 51cm CRT TV! I found the TV easy to set up to scan available TV channels. I use a PC if I want to connect to the internet so have not bothered with trying to set up the www on TV. I am also not interested in using NETFLIX or Amazon prime video. I use to have two remotes to control my old TV and the digital set top box and now I just have one. The remote is certainly different to what I am use to but found it quite easy to use after consulting the manual and a little trial and error. Picture quality is great compared to what I had previously and so is the sound. I only have an indoor antenna and found that it was a lot better and quicker at finding free to air channels than my old TV set up. Reading the eManual and this TV can just about do everything except make the coffee! Not sure about using some of the features but at least it is nice to know they are there.
Purchased in May 2021.
Solid TV for the Money
Was after the smallest 4K TV due to wall mounting in a office above current monitors. Was between this and the competing LG UN7300. No Qled LS01 was available at the time of purchase this size. This has Apple Airplay which works great. Its a shame Samsung does not have Chromecast built in to save another power lead for my chrome ultra cast attached. Viewing angles are better then what I was expecting in a none OLED Tv especially since Rtings gave it only a 5.5 in viewing angle. Angles are fine for me and a improvement over a tv from a few year...s ago. I was after a tv that has strong blacks and is not overtly bright at night and this one covers perfectly. I have the LG's bigger brother. The LG remote and WEBOS system is better with its air mouse curser (what I call it) but the samsung one works fine and the remove is smaller. The Ambient display mode looks great. While not OLED or QLED its a great tv for the money.
Purchased at The Good Guys for $780.00.
Questions & Answers
weve just purchased this tv and are having a real issue with finding freeview on it . it has freeview on demand but no freeview app. whats going on? Wendy
Hi Wendy, whilst I'm no tech expert, if you press the Home button on your remote and scroll across to Source, you should see Samsung TV............Freeview should be available. Better still, go to the Apps icon and put all the channels you want to watch on your Home page at he bottom of the screen. Much easier and quicker. that seems to work well and have had no trouble with that. good luck.
