Your experience depends on the mechanic they send
1st time a hardworking one but poor skills
2nd time I was very satisfied
3rd time the guy said I don't have enough workspace to paint without affecting the neighbours, as if I haven't had my car fixed here before. And he cancelled my first appointment for running out of paint.
5 stars for the 2nd guy, 3 for the 1st, -1 for the 3rd, overall 2 stars

Took a long time for an appointment but satisfied
I live in Sydney and I submitted a request in Jan 6 in which the first contact from customer support was in Jan 8. Customer support was professional and prompt in the acknowledgement and reply but unfortunately, the earliest appointment is already for the next month. That was ok for me as I was not in a hurry but I find that the requirement for a suitable work space is very strict and inflexible given that the fix required for me was just a touch up and some manual buff (obvious in the photos I submitted). I would recommend that an assessment o...f the reported damage be done properly so that the customer is advised correctly whether a normal space (without power) is enough. It's hard for people like me who live in an apartment (without their own ground level garage with power) to find a suitable work space. I ended up asking my dealer for a space just for a simple job done because the company doesn't have their own shop in NSW. Nevertheless, Vince did a good job in doing the touch-ups for me and even gave advice for a few things that I asked him. He was punctual (even waited for 5-7mins for me), really professional and knows a lot about car paints. Kudos to him for a wonderful job done! My opinion is that it's worth getting Schmick for 2 years because as my sales person said, "You'd want to make your car immaculate in the first 1-2 years but after that, door nicks or any unavoidable damage wouldn't matter." Tips for people who are thinking of subscribing: 1. This is NOT a car insurance but an on-call car paint fix service 2. Make sure that you understand the limitations and conditions so DON'T get frustrated if they can't fix it or they ask for more money! A lot of scenarios are covered in the $50 fix (see their brochure) but if not, they will give you a discount for being a member 3. Buy the subscription from the dealer but be sure to ask for good discount! I got mine for a 36% off the original price (for 5 years) but you might be able to do better. 4. The subscription price and membership type will be different if you buy outside 5. Make sure that you have the "suitable workspace" which is a ground level garage with power (that's right, no basements or public space). If you don't have that, ask the dealer if they do provide it and make sure they will remember that conversation when its' time for you to request for it.
Simon Russell turned up when he said he would. No problem for him to come to our place instead our business where the repair was going to take place.
Simon turned up on time and did a wonderful job. All scratches on the front passenger side of the car are now gone. Perfect job.
Total Scam ,schmick Is Another Name For Scam.
I am the victim of their gold membership , when I tried using their service I was told a wait of 3-4 weeks and after that a technician visits and says, all 3-4 dents and scratches are not covered, I cant fo it ..as it will take half a day ... we can only do credit card size scratch and dent. All the hidden condition ready as excuse were ready. Total fraud company..even the dealers should be ashamed off ..rather should kick these Schmick scammer out.
Giving 1 star is heartbreaking
Should be zero stars. Don't waste your money. I was hard sold this membership for a hefty $1000 with a new BMW, never have to worry about chips and scratches again they said... hilarious. After 6 months and around 6 missed appointments and another 10 or so promised phone calls and countless chasing emails I've given up. 2 technicians have viewed the car at different times and promised to do the repair and just didn't turn up. I'd literally be ashamed of this amateur service if this was my company and I'll certainly be venting at BMW when I go for service next week. God knows why they associate themselves with this company.. literally embarassing.
Scam company. Purchased insurance and tried to claim several times. No claim was accepted. It’s too close to sensor or at the corner or clip is broken. One claim was accepted Finally but repairer came to charge 350$ not $50 as policy said. He said you can refer to the policy book. But when the sales people sold me the insurance, he said per scratch $50. It’s scam. Don’t buy this company insurance.

Fabulous technician that did a fabulous job!
I cannot speak of Dominic Imeneo highly enough. He turned up on time, inspected the job (jobs) and summed up what was needed and how to tackle it immediately. My work needed polishing, touching up and, in two places respray.
The cost was $200 and it was $200 that was so well spent. I doubt that a panel beater would have fixed the stone chips for $200 let alone the other work, such as two deep gouges from some hoon on the rear quarter panel.
Dominic is very personable, and incredibly skilful and I cannot recommend his work too highly and Schm...ick is a wonderful investment for our car, and the money we spend on membership will be repaid many times when we sell it at the end of the year. Waste of money - can't fix a dent in a door???!!!
Purchased this membership with the purchase of a new Audi. First claim in a year for a dent in the rear passenger door (with no scratches, just a narrow dent). Response to request email was that a dent specialist would not be able to repair the back of the dent. So i have dent and scratch repair membership when doors aren't fixable for dents - a significant amount of the surface area of the car that could be dented.
Ridiculous waste of money. Very disappointed.
Appalling service - be warned
I bought a new car from Honda and paid for the Schmick Car Care Club. I was surprised I have to pay another $50 each scratch but realised I should have read the fine print, my bad. Worse was they subcontracted me out to another contractor “up2scratch”. I have been exchanging emails, messages and phone calls for 2 months. Initially they refused to do the work in the parking area of our unit block, even though we had Owner’s Corporation permission. Then I gave a different address with a private carport. The appointment was them confirmed the day ...before but then cancelled that evening. After a number of phone calls then an email, I made a second appointment. The second appointment they said the new address did not have enough room. When you try to call them, the phone often drops out while waiting. They make it very hard to actually make an appointment. The subcontractor “up2scratch” is now saying they might have to refer me back to Schmick. This is bizarre, Schmick have offloaded their responsibility to a sucontractor who are now sayig they will refer me back!!! I wish I had never paid for this non service. Honda should be ashamed to be a part of this.
Mark from hills in Sydney was really good.
Mark servicing Hills in Sydney was really helpful, friendly and courteous. He gave great tips while repairing. The admin on call was very friendly too. The only con will be in admin there was a mix up on date. Although it worked well this time but hope it was just one off.
Do not Buy this !
I made the mistake to buy this membership. Do not make the same mistake !
It took more than 30 days to get a time slot ...
Secondly I was promised the technician would arrive by 1 pm at the latest ....
I contacted the schmucks at 1.30 and 2 pm.
After numerous attempts they told me " he was on his way"
Big scam guys be careful
Bought a new car and got talked into purchasing this as an extra. The car yard did not tell us it was going to be $50 per item. We were told that it was to be $50 for 4 x repairs to the vehicle. Turns out after booking a repair in, the contractor who came to fix asked for $50 for the dent repair then, $50 for the paint repair, then $50 for another and so on. Basically it seems from other reviews car yards are selling the product incorrectly and we are falling for it. Also, have to say the contractor did not return calls, took at least 3 we...eks to get him to actually call me back. I left messages with him and there was no response. All in all a bad experience from the sale of the product right through to the delivery on site. It's also fantastic for Schmick as I can see in previous reviews to wipe their hands and say we are not responsible for what the car yard sells you. Maybe if the business was legitimate, perhaps Schmick would evaluate what their partners are selling Don't get this product
Questions & Answers
Hi , I have recently bought a new car and had Schmick applied to my car. My question is what car cleaner can I use. I don’t want to damage the coating. Thanks
I purchased this membership with my Mercedes purchased Feb this year and it is a waste of your money. If you are still within the first 45 days of your purchase please ask for a refund and invest in a great car insurance. They take forever to reply to your inquiry if you need their help and then tell you they can't fix the scratch due to it being too deep only by looking at a photo that you send them. A complete waste. If you have more questions about my experience with them I am more than happy to answer them.
I've just bought a car privately that has your protection on it (the car is less than 6 months old). Do you allow transfer of the membership? If so what would the transfer cost be?
