Good colour, but stains towels weeks after use!
I love the colour Red Passion, yet weeks after use it continues to wash out on the shower and colour transfers onto towels! The colour is vibrant, yes, but it really is annoying having beautiful towels that are covered in pink splotches!!! And wearing a white shirt to the gym? Don't do it.. I sweat red weeks after use also!!!
colour transfers for weeks!!
shade change :(
After several years use of Brilliance 'Violet Vision 85' It has been my experience the shade has changed despite claims on packaging to the contrary. I have had to compensate by adding an inch of blue black to retain the depth on grey roots. Whilst I still love the product 5 tubes of colour later I am convinced the formula is not the same as the original.

shocking product, shocking customer service
I rang the company after my daughter's colour, which has been in for 3 weeks was bleeding out onto the towels. It is supposed to be a permanent colour "Dark Red Violet" except is has faded and washed out like a semi. When i rang customer service to complain, I was told that it was my fault that my daughter's hair was so healthy it would not absorb the colour! What??? I was then told that there is no way that the product is faulty and that I should wash my daughter's hair in dishwashing liquid and bicarb of soda (say goodbye to healthy hair ...by doing that!) to stop the bleeding. All of my white towels are now blotchy red and I was told I could send the product back but there is no refund option. I now have to take her to a salon to get it professionally fixed, and given that her hair is down to her waist and thick I'm sure it will cost a pretty penny! Customer service was rude and hung up on me when I suggested that it is a faulty product and that if no refund was available that I would share my negative experience. Consider it shared. Expensive as I had to buy two for long hair, colour bled and faded straight away and still is.
colour may not be what it seems
This hair colour has easy instructions, simple to use, comes with the gloves and everything. I used it as per the details, left it on for the specified amount of time, however when it was washed out I found it to be rather red in colour, was supposed to be a chocolate brown.
easy to use.
the colour did not turn out as expected.
Love this hair colour!
I used to only dye my hair several different variations of brown, but decided for a change one day and switched to this hair colour. I used one of the bright reds and it came out quite vibrant. My hair is quite dark, and obviously the lighter hair you have, the more vibrant and brighter the colour will come out. It is quite expensive in comparison to other hair colours, around $14-$17ish, and unfortunely my hair is long and thick so I need two boxes.
Vibrant colour, leaves the hair feeling soft and looking shiny.
Price. It's not too bad compared to hair salons, but is quite expensive compared to other hair colours.
This is okay to try, but I wont waste my money on it again. I am still suprised at how much cheaper it was compared to all the other colors on the shelf, and its a famous make too! Overall, it really did not impress me at all and I wont be buying it again.
I bought this one because it was on special, only about $8 for a box, which was almost half of my normal colour. It didnt really impress me as my usual color, so I would not buy it again.
The colour didnt really last as long as other colors I have tried.
I originally decided to go for a completely different approach to my hair colouring and decided to purchase Schwarzkopf Live Brilliance in deep burgundy. My hair was originally a medium blonde with blonde foils. I usually love to do drastic changes. The box had everything from instructions to gloves. The colour overall turned out vivid and bright however it washed out VERY quick! With this brand of fashion colour, hair usually needs to be pre-bleached or pre-lightened for a more accurate result. The colour also stained my skin, clothing and bas...in pretty bad. It continued to wash out heaps and colour residue was constantly remaining on my towels after showers a week later. I do not recommend this colour line at all! There are WAY better colour products out there then this, do NOT waste your money and save the disappointment! Cheaper approach then going to a professional hairdresser. Colour range is huge. Washes out way too quick, for a vibrant result in particular the red shades the hair needs to be pre-bleached/pre-lightened, stains most things when touched such as skin, clothing and basin.
Colour Vibrant But Short Lived
I grabbed this as I've never tried it before. The colour I used was very dark brown. I already have dark brown hair but my ends were fading from the sun, so in that respect this colour should have lasted quite a while in my hair. Unfortunately after only 4 washes, I'm starting to notice faded ends again. My hair is long so I used 2 boxes of this colour to make sure the coverage was right. Not looking forward to re colouring again so soon. I'd expect that from a semi but not a permanent. I won't buy this one again, only because it's a pain havin...g to do it so often. If they could get the colour to last, this product would be my top choice, as the colour result was gorgeous and vibrant. When I first did it, it left my hair looking ultra healthy. Very Cheap, Gorgeous Colour Result, No Drip Formula Quick To Wash Out
As far as hair dyes go, this is pretty up there. it is cheap, easy to use, the conditioner is great, the colour range is big. You still get the same problems as with all home hair dyes, the browns turn red, they wash out fast and you need to follow the instructions carefully.
Easy to use, minimal mess, cheap as far as hair dyes go, great colour range.
All the brown colours go red, if you leave it in even a little bit too long your hair looks black for the first few washes. Colour starts to fade very fast
Schwarzkopt Live Brillance hair dye is an ok cheap hair colour. Average coverage terrible gloves. Dye stained skin, clothes and basin.
Schwarzkopt Live Brillance is a cheaper alternative of dying your hair than going to the hair salon. I coloured my boyfriend hair black an the coverage was average after a month or so the top of his hair had a reddish tinge all though it where it must have washed out. I used the dark brown colour to dye my hair an it ended up almost black as it faded and washed out over the weeks I was happier with the coulour though it looked terrible with my re growthThis hair dye tends to stain skin and clothing.
Not happy at all when I bought a brown hair colour and it turned out a true black. There is a pretty big difference between brown and black! And it's not like I can just get a new colour to go over this - I can't easily turn my hair from black to chocolate brown! I've been using similar pharmacy DIY colours for ages, never had an instance where the colour turned out different to the colour shown and described on the packet until now.
Cheap way of colouring hair compared to hairdresser.
The colour - I have dark brown hair, my previous colour had a red tinge and I wanted a chocolate brown to match with a hair extension wig I got. I chose a chocolate brown colour in this and it has turned JET BLACK.
I would use the same color again as it looks a very natural light copper blonde with a lovely shine.
I used the
amber blonde the color came out very natural much to my surprise! Smelled good but as its only been in a couple of days i don't know how long the color will last.
the gloves are useless
Really i dont think that this should be under permenant hair colour, its more liek a semi perminant. It washes out and fades to unfavorable shades.
Good price, After the first wash it has a really nice colour.
Colour will not last past two washes, it will turn dull and all browns turn a red colour.
I always dye my own hair and have tried this one a couple of times, using different shades. It is one of the more expensive at home hair colours so I thought it would work well. The gloves that come with it are terrible and always break before you are finished leaving colour all over your hands. It has a really strong smell and takes 30 minutes to develop. For a so called permanent dye it fades out too quickly, with every wash. Not a very intense colour either. The good points are it is very easy to apply and it comes with an oil treatment to u...se before hand and a conditioner that you can use a few times afterwards. My hair is left soft and in good condtion but the colour does not come out like it shows on the box. After a few trys of this one I wouldn't buy it again. It is really cheap. The colour doesn't last
Questions & Answers
Why is this colour so difficult to get
Should the hair be washed prior to colouring
No! Do not wash your hair before application, this will make the colour wash out faster. It’s best to use the product on unwashed hair.
I have dark brown hair but roots are quite white. Is this the right colour or what would you suggest?
