I Love this colour

Being a natural brunette I have always put red shades in my hair…but since grey is becoming more evident the reds really grab and I was starting to resemble a neon light,which is not a great look at 70.
My hair is still very salt and peppery and like a lot of people my age the grey gets me down.
Ultra Bright Lilac Blush is very subtle on my hair..it has given an overall smoky appearance with pops of lilac,I absolutely love it.

Read moreprefer to buy them when they are on special like today I bought it from Woolworths for $8.40…they are normally round $12.00 I have never experienced any irritation to my scalp. They are incredibly easy to apply,no mixing is required just shampoo and towel dry hair then apply colour from the tube using the supplied gloves…I left it on for 20 minutes,rinse off and you are good to go. UPDATE. Unfortunately the first shampoo with Clairol Colour Protect my smoky look with pops of lilac was all gone…Bugger!

This is the perfect toner for when you are growing out your hair to grey

I didnt know what to expect when I bought Cool Grey Pastel. I had one third grey regrowth, one third light brass old colour and one third old caramel colour. It looked awful but I didnt want a permanent colour or anything with bleach. This product toned everything down and I have absolutely no lines between colours, it has blended to a beautiful ash blonde. No staining, no smell. WOW. Will do this every 5-6 wks till its completely grey and then I will use some silver highlight rinse. Highly recommend for this purpose. Show details

Safe colouring, great result

My natural hair is a mixture of brown and silver = grey. I use Schwarzkopf Live Red Embers to keep a more youthful look, a lovely mix of chestnut brown and a soft red. I only leave the dye on for 15 minutes so the colour is not too strong, and it gradually washes out over about 6 washes (6 weeks for me). I don't want to 'cover grey', I want that natural mix of colours. And it's much safer to use a semi-permanent dye because it doesn't contain ammonia etc. My hair looks great and has good shine and texture, and people comment on how natural it looks.
Once I used a hotel shampoo and the colour ran, so now I only shampoo with good quality products where you can't see any colour stripping. Show details

Worked perfectly as I wanted

After reading the negative reviews about people’s hair turning green using this colour I was slightly concerned but as blue cancels out orange tones I presumed it would work on my level 9ish slightly getting too brassy roots. Having used the Schwarzkopf silver box colour dozens of times preciously which is lighter purple I was worried but I needed a darker more blue base to tone.
It did an excellent job of toning and I pulled through the rest of my almost platinum level 10ish hair for the last few minutes. I have experienced green tinged hair... Read more many times. Blue and yellow make green. This is an ash/blue base so it cancels out orangey tones. Also if hair is already trashed from bleaching it will soak it up and more light give an uneven result. It also may not have worked if I had just bleached my roots and sometimes they don’t absorb colour well straight after lightening. I also did a clarifying shampoo and let that sit in for a couple of minutes prior to towel drying and painted the roots. I used half a tube and left it in for 30 minutes. Next time I would leave it in a little longer as I don’t mind a more ashy root and then pull an inch down for the last ten minutes and then comb through for a minute or two. I’m very happy with the colour, it did exactly what I needed which was to tone and blend a brassy inch wide demarcation band from my last bleach which didn’t go light enough.

This was awesome. We used it on our daughters dark blonde hair (the ends) using foils. Left it on for 30-45min. Also I applied the dye on dry, unwashed hair, maybe that made a difference? Show details

It is an essential part of my wardrobe

I have use Magnetic Purple for 8 years. I am 88 years old. It last for me as a strong colour for the first two weeks and fades out very prettily over the next 4 weeks I receive constant complimentary comments on the lovely colour. I am finding it hard to get lately. I have Psoriasis and from time to time I have to treat my scalp. Read moret will effect the colour. I have also found using "Justice" Perfect violet hair mask instead of a conditioner helps retain the sheen and depth of colour. Yes the hair dye is thick ,you can thin it with a little water just as the hairdressers do . Another trick I find works is ,don't wash your hair in hot water, tepid at the most it helps retain the colour longer. bit had in winter I know. I love this product I hope it stays around for many years yet. regarding stains I use mentholated spirits to wipe it off basin etc; and it washes out very easy in the wash from my towel in my regular wash. I wash my hair twice a week. I would place a photo but i don't know how to do that from my apps

It works on grey hair!!

I didn't think it would work as I'm grey all over but it was cheap so I bought it anyway. Left it in for half an hour and it worked. Not too brazen as it would be on a blond, just enough for some funky pastel highlights. Show details

Such an.easy temporary colour change!

This hair dye is so easy to use,no mixing of dye needed, it didn't damage my hair at all and left it looking so shiny and vibrant. I used this hair dye 2 weeks ago and the colour is just fading out now. (I wash my hair every second day). I wasn't totally sure on what colour I wanted to permanently dye my hair so this was a great way to test a colour. Show details

Natural brown

I used the natural brown shade (not given as an option for review) I purchased as a temporary cover for the grey while unable to visit the salon during COVID-19 restrictions. I used 2 packs left on for just over 1/2 hr. I have long just below the shoulder length hair. I’m very happy with the results at this stage.
