Do your homework and be realistic - worked out great for us
The process of arranging an inspection and quote was easy, all on line but there was a personal aspect as well in the way their admin personnel called in advance to confirm details regarding the appointment a few days ahead.
You then receive regular electronic updates/reminders.
On the day the inspector arrived a little earlier but this suited us fine, he was really genuine, didn't waste air on any patronising sales tactics (the competing dealer did and was contradictory of many things said in a separate inspection). We stood to make money reg...ardless of the final amount, but the reason we chose sellmycar was really because of the manner of the inspector. We did not want to be greedy and wanted to see our vehicle (in great condition) go smoothly. Mark arranged everything from inspection to quote to towing company collection and ensuring I received a copy of the remittance when payment was processed. We were not emotionally attached to the car, we'd done our homework on the dealer market (not retail pricing which is always inflated), we were open minded and in the end sold to sellmycar 1K less than the competing dealer purely because of Marks manner. At the end of the day we'd never get 'on the lot' or 'private sale' price, but I'd rather these guys make a profit than the other guy. These days people are guarded and sometimes greedy (this goes both ways) but if you've looked after your car with service history and are realistic in considering the fact that these guys need to make a profit too - then you'll have a successful experience here too. At the end of the day our new car was due to arrive so we weren't too fussed. Thanks SELLMYCAR!

Extremely low valuation
Waste of time. Give you a huge spectrum for their estimate and then go to the bottom of the estimate, even though the car offered is in perfect condition with very low kilometres. Ford dealership offered more than they do. This service is just for someone desperate to sell their car. Don't waste your time.
Great Service - wish I had of used it for all my cars
First time using sellmycar.com.au and I am blown away about how good the service was. The estimate provided was bang on the money and the service provided at every point was amazing. Not to mention that it was $2,000 above the price offered by Subaru!

I entered my car details into their website and they came back to me with an "estimate". The estimate was "$18,500 to $22,600". I made an appointment and they offered me $16,000! I understand what an estimate is, but coming back with such an offer is unethical and just wrong, particularly as the car met all of the criteria they asked for when sending me the "estimate"eg amount of rego, 2 keys, service records, etc, etc. SellMyCar....you need to look up what the meaning of estimate is. You are a total waste of time!!! STAY AWAY!!!!!!
This was my first experience at selling a car publicly and Mark made the whole process quick, easy and simple...funds cleared into my account the next day. Mark was helpful, always answered his phone or promptly returned my messages. The key to success is you have to understand these guys are car dealers, they will make a profit from buying your car and so don't expect them to pay top dollar on their quote. Do your homework, check the Redbook value of your car, shop it around to other dealers like Pickles Auctions to determine the market price range for your vehicle. At the end of the day, if you are a realistic vendor who has done their homework and willing to accept the offer, then the entire process is quick and easy.

Initially heard about Sell my car on the radio.Mark and Joshua were great to deal with from the initial quote online through to the sale . After getting low trade in quotes from dealers they came in with a realistic price.
Worst and time wasting location at Box Hill
Showed me an online quotation of 12000 so i went in there and without even looking at the car he tells me it's going to be $8000. Then I asked him just have a look as my car's condition was really great so he asked me 3-4 times if I really wanted to sell and when I said yes I want to je inspected the car and said I can give you only $8000.
They advertise themselves as you don't need to deal with time wasters when you sell the car on your own but guess what's the irony?
Quick and smooth
Damian was very helpful and gave me a fair deal with quick deposit! However, It took them over the weekend to pick up my car and the guy picking it up actually came in morning instead of afternoon as the agreement. Highly recommended though!!
Worst service ever I got from sell my car Boxhill branch.
I am having Toyota aurion, and when I checked into their website the estimated me $5400 but when I went to sell my car box hill branch they told me $2000 without even inspection.
It's a waste. Such a shame sell my car.

Hello I have just booked an appointment to take my car into one of sellyourcar.com car yards the closest to me is in Dandenong. I am selling my much loved Mercedes’s CLC kompressor because I have to. I can’t afford to get 12 months rego on the car and it runs out in a few weeks . Also there is a graze on the corner of the front bumper and the front blind to the sunroof needs replacement clips which aren’t expensive but I’m in a position I have to sell. I’m also the second owner but should that make a difference if we both looked after the car. All these things will bring the estimated price quoted down but how much lower would the estimate be. I’m really in a between a rock and a hard place. the estimate was around $8,500. My car is really in terrific condition apart from these few things. Can anyone please help me? Thank you. Mel
