The team of SellMyCar was friendly and efficient. I was well informed, treated with respect. It was convenient to have the car inspected at my home. Great service, reasonable price offered, easy process
I had a great experience with Sell My Car. I got an online estimate very easily, received a follow up call and made a booking where they came to me, they made an offer which was in line with the estimate provided on the website, and then purchase my car. A tilt tray arrived to collect it and a remittance was emailed to me for the funds within 5 minutes. Such an easy process with people that were friendly and easy to deal with.

On line offer just over half of current red book trade in valuation with extreme demands...12 months rego etc etc...Can't see how anyone would be sucked in by these shysters!

The quoted price you get initially is NOT what you will get offered-its intentionally over inflated to get you down to the yard. I booked online and drove to Dandenong 30 minutes away, to be told that they knew nothing of my booking and were not interested in buying a 6 month old Hilux (!), when I replied that I had e-mailed confirmation of my appointment and their estimate, the salesman became abusive and aggressive, I left bewildered and rang head office who confirmed my appointment-and their interest...

Didn’t bother to show up even though appointment was confirmed prior. Horrendous attitude from the only Melbourne rep who admitted freely that their email recommendation amounts are more than exaggerated.
Onsite non inspection
Had an inspection booked by them was twenty minutes away only to have them ring and re book for two hours later as the person doing the vehicle inspection was stuck in traffic. Got to second inspection time and person did not even get out of his office chair to inspect the car and offered me less than what their lowest estimate was for the vehicle. What a waste of my time to have so called vehicle inspection done without him even looking at the car he could have just phoned me and told me the same thing as he did not even view it. Would not waste your time going to an inspection appointment..
Booked a time for appraisal on internet. Then I received a call from rude man and in 2 minutes he cancelled viewing. Didn’t even view the car.

Do your homework and be realistic - worked out great for us
The process of arranging an inspection and quote was easy, all on line but there was a personal aspect as well in the way their admin personnel called in advance to confirm details regarding the appointment a few days ahead.
You then receive regular electronic updates/reminders.
On the day the inspector arrived a little earlier but this suited us fine, he was really genuine, didn't waste air on any patronising sales tactics (the competing dealer did and was contradictory of many things said in a separate inspection). We stood to make money reg...ardless of the final amount, but the reason we chose sellmycar was really because of the manner of the inspector. We did not want to be greedy and wanted to see our vehicle (in great condition) go smoothly. Mark arranged everything from inspection to quote to towing company collection and ensuring I received a copy of the remittance when payment was processed. We were not emotionally attached to the car, we'd done our homework on the dealer market (not retail pricing which is always inflated), we were open minded and in the end sold to sellmycar 1K less than the competing dealer purely because of Marks manner. At the end of the day we'd never get 'on the lot' or 'private sale' price, but I'd rather these guys make a profit than the other guy. These days people are guarded and sometimes greedy (this goes both ways) but if you've looked after your car with service history and are realistic in considering the fact that these guys need to make a profit too - then you'll have a successful experience here too. At the end of the day our new car was due to arrive so we weren't too fussed. Thanks SELLMYCAR!

Extremely low valuation
Waste of time. Give you a huge spectrum for their estimate and then go to the bottom of the estimate, even though the car offered is in perfect condition with very low kilometres. Ford dealership offered more than they do. This service is just for someone desperate to sell their car. Don't waste your time.
Better than the dealers
Given a price $4,000 more than the best dealer's offer $6,000 better than the rest (sold for $36,000). The process was frank and straight forward. Price didn't match the online offer but that was expected.
