I credit Sensodyne Pronamel with saving my teeth! I use 'Gentle Whitening' because I prefer the taste.
I would say the whitening effect is pretty limited however I gave it 5 stars because I prefer the taste of 'Gentle Whitening' over the 'repair and protect', it seems to clear the worst of the black tea stain from my teeth while maintaining my enamel against the acid from the daily onslaught of diet coke!
If you are switching to Sensodyne Pronamel from a different brand to fix sensitive teeth I would suggest trying a different version first before hitting the Whitening!
I have been using the various Sensodyne Pronamel toothpastes since about 2...010 when I reached a point of panic. My teeth had become sensitive, were almost translucent and felt bendy/soft. This was due to over 10 years of drinking several cans of diet coke a day. The acid had left my teeth so bad that my dentist at the time was talking implants despite me only being 30. He said there was no way to repair the enamel - once it was this bad it was impossible to fix! In desperation, after seeing a Sensodyne advert claiming to be able to restore damaged/lost enamel, I tried it despite being extremely sceptical. I am not really into 'miracle cures' but I was in a lot of pain, I had little to lose and at the time I couldn't afford to undertake the dental work that my dentist said I needed. I started using Sensodyne Pronamel (original later moving to 'repair and protect') and started to notice an improvement within a couple of weeks! I have been using Sensodyne Pronamel in one form or another ever since! My teeth are no longer translucent and they are no longer giving me unbearable pain. I can even eat hard or chewy food! These days I drink more tea and coffee but still occasionally fall back into bad habits and drink too much diet coke so I switched to 'Gentle Whitening' which seems to be maintaining my enamel and (just about) limiting the discolouration to light beige rather than dark brown! (For me that is better than nothing.)

Pronamel anti sensitivity toothpaste
I've been using pronamel exclusively for 2 years. Before and after use I would definitely notice tooth sensitivity changes. I have acid wear and slight discolouration. While I did not notice change in colour, as in fairness any changes would be gradual and hard to notice unless before/after photos are taken to assess. But for sensitivity and fresh clean taste I can reccommend. It can be pricey at around $8-11 from supermarkets or pharmacies.

Don't touch this product
As a long time user of Sensodyne toothpastes, I decided to try Proname to add a touch of whiteness to my teeth. This experiment was a total disaster, with my teeth becoming ultra-sensitive within a few days of brushing twice a day. When I say sensitive, I mean painfully sensitive unlike anything I have ever experienced before. I decided the manufacturer, GlaxoSmithKline, should know about my appalling experience and so I wrote to them and told them so. That was 17 days ago and have not had even the courtesy of an acknowledgement of any kind. Bi...g Pharma showing its true colours again, I guess. My letter was properly constructed setting out the problem I encountered, it was not abusive or anything like that, on the contrary. I hope a good number of readers see this critique and both stay away from Proname, and also advise others to do likewise. GlaxoSmithKline will be getting a follow-up letter, for all the good it will probably do me, and if there is no response to that, then I will elevate my displeasure in a far greater manner.
I had a small free sample from my dentist so assumed it must be great if he was recommending it! I then bought some as was in offer at the supermarket.
If it does all of the things it says then great. However it tastes bit funny and doesn't leave you with that "fresh and clean" feeling.
Also the lid is a pain as you have to screw it on and off. Much prefer a flip cap.
Good for your teeth.
There are other toothpastes on the market also good for your teeth that taste better. Don't like the screw top lid.
Low abrasive, pH balanced toothpaste which has all the benefits of a regular toothpaste as well as being suitable for those who have sensitive teeth and gums. Contains the added benefit of pronamel a fluoride formula that hardens enamel and protects it from erosion. Cleans teeth and freshens breath effectively. A little pricier than other toothpastes but well worth the extra cost. Great design with the large cap which is easy to remove.
Sensodyne pronamel gentle whitening toothpaste is a fantastic toothpaste for anyone with sensitive teeth. It ...
