Really sore lower gums after using this
I'm finding my lower gums are so sore and irritated after using some of the Sensodyne range. I noticed it a few weeks ago whilst using the Gum care toothpaste, stopped using it and the pain disappeared, then I inadvertently started using another Sensodyne product - Complete Care but now have the same symptoms so have stopped using it too. Never had this problem with any other toothpaste and I never had this issue in the past when I've used Sensodyne.

I used to use this product without any concerns. Now I’m getting a sore mouth, tongue and lips when brushing. Please I need this for my gums without it burning my mouth and lips.

Sensodyne rapid relief- I can’t taste sweet and salt anymore
After using sensodyne rapid relief my tongue tip especially is numb as if it’s burnt and slowly spreading to whole mouth and I can’t taste the sweet and saltiness of any food.

Fix The Cap!
Apart from the negative reviews on the pros and cons....the cap on the tube does NOT seal.
Do not use this product to travel etc...you will end up with toothpaste from A to breakfast.

Palette still sore 3 weeks after ceasing use
I have chronic acid reflux so bought this to protect my teeth from the corrosive effects of pepsin. Within a week of using this product I developed ulcers on top and bottom lips, and my soft palette behind my top front teeth got sore, almost like I'd burned my mouth.
Now, three weeks on, I still get intermittent pain on my soft palette.
As others have said, I have an acidic taste in my mouth - however this is likely due mostly to the reflux.

Sensodyne Rapid Relief
I started using this toothpaste about a week ago and I noticed that my tongue was is always burning. It also feels very dry like there is a coating on it. I did help the sensitive teeth, but honestly I would rather have my teeth hurt. It's very expensive too.

Swollen gums and existing sores painful and slow to heal
Tried the Sensodyne Repair and Protect. Got swollen gums and my existing painful sores painful and slow to heal. So suspect is due to the new toothpaste. Has switched back to my familiar Sensodyne Fresh Mint which has been good for me.

Beware of sensodyne
I purchased sensodyne extra fresh complete care after using the more basic varieties for years with excellent results.
I wish I had read these reviews earlier as it has taken me several months, dental visits and blood tests to realise the toothpaste is the cause of my issues.
I have experienced an extremely dry mouth which I have never had ever. The tip of my tongue and in front of my lower teeth even had a numb weird feeling. My gums then became sensitive and tender on brushing. Sensodyne needs to be accountable for these products, I have lost all trust in this brand.

Beware burnt tongue feeling!
I started using sensodyne earlier this year and it seemed ok. About a month ago I noticed my tongue felt burnt and I thought I must have burnt it on coffee or something I ate. Normally those things heal within a day or two and when it didn’t heal I started to wonder what I had eaten and then the more I thought about it, the more I was sure I hadn’t burnt my mouth on anything. So I suspected that maybe it was a curry or something spicy in my diet or too much caffeine. So I cut those things out as much as possible. It got worse each day and for d...ays I had no appetite to eat or drink anything with a strong flavour. My mouth was sore and my tongue numb/tingly. I was close to making an appointment with the doc and was sure I would be told I had BMS. I didn’t consider my toothpaste at all and often switched between the various sensodyne brands. It slowly started to feel better (after 3 weeks) and yesterday it was feeling much better, pretty much back to normal. Then this morning I woke up and it was numb and sore all over again with little blisters on tip of tongue - just like a month ago! As I was brushing my teeth tonight I realized I had just gone back to the dual action sensitivity and gum version the night before, which is what I had previously used when this first started (before buying another sensodyne one by chance which is when it started to clear)! I hopped on to google and found numerous other stories just like mine! How is this stuff even on the shelves still? Horrid!

Change for the worse
I had been using Sensodyne forever. I usually buy Extra Whitening but my store was out so I bought Whitening Repair and Protect. I first noticed the texture was totally different, more liquidy. Immediately upon starting to brush, my teeth hurt incredibly and not just in the usual trouble spots. I have noticed that my teeth sensitivity has dramatically increased since I started using this new tube. I am discontinuing use and looking for a new toothpaste brand that helps with sensitivity. By the way, I loved the old product. I am so disappointed.

I purchased the new Sensodyne Dual action specifically for my husband as he has Gingivitis and thought I would use it myself. Both my husband and I have ended up with very red, sore and inflamed gums. I also ended up with mouth ulcers. We have stopped using this product and are hesitant in using any Sensodyne products again.

After using the original Sensodyne for years I switched to the '& Gum' and experienced severe side effects - starting with a sore and swollen tongue, inside of my mouth sensitive and painful, swollen glands, headache, constant horrible taste .. it was difficult to eat and I felt awful. Initially thought I was biting my tongue and had dentist file down two teeth, then blamed it on hot curry I'd eaten or allergy to some food - after about three weeks of suffering realised problems had started after I changed to a new Sensodyne. Googled and rea...d the Reviews and was amazed to find many users had similar bad reactions. I stopped using the toothpaste and saw my doctor, who recommended rinsing with salt water. Three weeks later symptoms are easing, but very slowly. Before this horrible experience I was a healthy and active 87-year-old - I still don't feel well, still have the bad taste, sore tongue and mouth, headache, sensitive gums and teeth, and feel tired and depressed. I suggest Sensodyne add to their warnings, "Definitely not for use by the elderly". This product does not deserve even a One star rating and should not be on sale.

Horrible! Mouth ulcers and sores!!
I started using Sensodyne 2 weeks ago after given a few samples from my dentist for my sensitive teeth. I noticed on the second day i started developing ulcers under my tongue which were extremely painful. As i continued using, i developed more and more sores to the point where the lining of my gums and the bottom of my tongue were swollen and bright red. I immediately took to google and of course it was a symptom of mouth cancer! It wasnt until a few mornings ago when i had finished the sample sized tube that it occured to me that this was the...only thing i had changed in my oral hygiene since i started developing these awful symptoms. I have thrown out the rest of the samples and have noticed the inflamation subsiding! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS! They should really warm customers that there would be possibilities of immense side effects to this toothpaste!

Terrible toothpaste. Burning mouth with ulcers and swollen lips
Yes, as stated above burning sensation, mouth ulcers and cracked swollen lips. Have always used sensodyne in the past but giving up on it. Why change a product that for years has done what it says,

Severe reaction to this product
After using this product ,I got sores on the lining of my mouth & under my tongue. Before I realised what was causing this , I went to the doctor as the reaction I had was so severe. I was put on steroids by my doctor but to no avail. I was really despairing until I finally connected the problem I was having to this toothpaste after a few terrible weeks. My lips were swollen and cracked. I got a burning sensation on the inside of my mouth and corners of my mouth were cracked. Never again for this product.

Unreal this product is still for sale
Like others on here I developed sore gums, mouth and white stinging tongue.Tried anti biotics and then the Doctor gave me Steroids.Nothing worked. The only thing I could think off that after 10 years I had changed to Sensodyne.Saw the reviews on here and stopped using Sensodyne immediately.Started improving straight away and now after 7 days returned to normal. How is this product still for sale?
