Fantastic Service

Besides the staff being lovely, the action we required was fast, fantastic and efficient. Once job#346319 was completed it came with efficient documentation and also a payment plan was available. So to me that is 10/10 service. Thanks again!

Life savers

Had a small emergency with an old switchboard arcing and crackling. They were here in 1/2 hour due to the danger. Replaced on the spot and organised inspection. All the guys were extremely pleasant and helpfull. Could not have asked for better service. Thank you all very much. Would highly recommend these guys.

Worst experience ! !

Was told 12-4 appointment and that someone would call 30 min beforehand. 4.30pm and no call! Totally no accountability or flexibility when trying reschedule a more definite time. Never again

Great Job !!!! ... Job No: 341642

Great service from Gavin. Rang this morning as was emergency and Gavin was here within 30 mins. He even rang to announce is arrival.... this is next level service guys. I've had plumbing done by these guys in the past and they keep all records on database; Gavin even showed me the old plumbing photos from previous job! Anyway this electrical job was quoted, completed with full explanation and further recommendations made. After follow up tests, Cert of Electrical Safety was provided with lifetime warranty on work. What you're paying for here guys is peace of mind with a professional level of work completed. ... very reassuring indeed! ..... ie it has been a very good experience today. I know I can always call these guys anytime for any emergency,follow up or anything else. Thanks Gavin .. well done mate :)

Power outage

We had the misfortune of a power outage recently on a cold Sunday afternoon. After calling 'Service Today' for help, I was pleased with the professional phone manner and super pleased with the tradesman that attended to the outage. Thanks team & in particular Lucas.

Charged over double the price of one installed 12 mnths before

Small lizard shorted out 2.5 Samsung reverse a/c,qualified electrician said Mother board could be replaced instead was deemed u/s,installer replaced with same power Mitsubishi for over twice the price of previous one.Installer advertisers in local northern metro paper in melbourne with glossy colourful photos with different phone numbers the same people also have plummers and electricians stating it will be service today no problems

Good afternoon Darryl Thank you for your review. If the main board could have been replaced then that is certainly an option we would have given to you. At Service Today we offer upfront pricing and Same Day Service. We do service a large area and have multiple advertisements, while they may overlap in the same paper, we are a company that is available 24 hours a day 7 days a week. We gave you the quote on site but you were under no obligation to proceed straight away, all our quotes are valid for 30 days. Pricing is non competitive

We had Service Today quote for some electrical work this month - moving several powerpoints and TV points as we'd taken out a built in entertainment unit. We have had Service Today do work at our house before. They've been on time and professional - a little on the $$ side. Our quote with discount for being a VIP this time was $1488.04. (Job No: 332528) This sounded high to me so I contacted another electrician I found through recommendation on a local buy, swap sell group. He quoted $220 based on the photos I sent, with proviso that if it was more complicated on arrival he'd tell me before commencing work. He arrived on time, completed the work well and cleaned up thoroughly afterwards - all for $220. I'll not be calling Service Today again. Your quote is not even in the same ballpark (or I'd not be writing a negative review.) We are happy to pay more for a quality job, but I find your pricing very non competitive.

Fabulous service

Quick efficient service from start to finish.
Needed to get the lights working on my Plant stand.
The whole process from booking and then having polite knowledgeable electrician arrive at front door and fix the problem finished in under four hours.
Fabulous service. Highly recommend.

Great Service over the Phone!!

When arriving to our workplace (Pharmacy) on a Saturday all our power was off. I immediately called Service Today and was promptly booked in and told Trent would contact me with estimated time of arrival. When he called he talked me through several steps and problem was solved!! Workplace was up and running thanks to Trent with his professional knowledge. Would highly recommend him and this service.

Sooooooo expensive.

The work was very efficient and professionally completed BUT, to remove existing, supply and installation of standard ball sensor, I was charged $215.11. A standard ball sensor costs in the vicinity of $20.
To supply , remove existing and install a new Par38 Sensor fitting complete with LED globes, I was charged $473.88. The cost of the fitting itself is well under $100.
I will NOT use this service again nor will I recommend it to others.
VERY OVERPRICED I should have waited to call my regular electrician. My Rating is purely based in price!

Inflated Prices

Over inflated prices. Was quoted $1200 to install 5 points. When questioned, price dropped to $1000. Another electrician charged me $350 for same work, same day with a safety certificate.

smoke and mirrors

Massively overpriced. So many other electricians quoted less than a quarter of what these people charged. and their service and persona was fabulous unlike yours. Your technician was quickly disconnected from wasting my time.

Too much sales hype & not enough expertise

Job #328027 on 13-5-2019 in Williamstown,Vic.,
After power disconnection by Jemena for an alleged defective cable into the house I found Servicetoday the only electrician available. I admit I should not have panicked & called around more electricians. The sales rep. came the same day and quoted $6,132.95 to replace cabling, upgrade the fuse box & Smart meter, provide earthing points. I should have,at this point, refused to accept this outrageously expensive quote. The quote included $143 for "Total Care Club Membership" for which I did not ask & would have refused if I had been shown the detailed quotation. Two electricians arrived next day & completed the job that day. When I saw what was provided for all this expense I was more outraged. The worst instance was $738.67 to" wire & install earth rod",which actually meant running three metres of cable to a 1.5 metre steel rod hammered into the ground. A reasonable cost would be less than $100. One electrician did most of the work & the other guy spent most of the time as a gofer,& breaking roof tiles,which I had to replace. I was glad to see the back of these two guys.
After Jemena reconnected I scouted around the wreckage & now have to renovate two sections of tiled roof.
And,I found the cause of the problem,a small junction box next to the Jemena cable which is the original fitting from 1952. In the junction box the power cable was almost completed severed by corrosion. A repair would have involved no cost & about fifteen minutes work !
I now have fuses tripping in the lighting circuit which I have traced to a faulty light fitting. Will I call Servicetoday.....never !
Will I recommend Servicetoday.........never !

Electricity emergency.

I have some emergency due to a short circuit all power points stopped working impacting the microwave, fridge etc.
I gave a call to service today and within an hour the Electrician by name Trent has called and asked for the details. He has spent a good amount of his time listening to the issue and asked to do somevtesting and has advised the issue has caused due to a malfunction of some appliance which I have tracked and he further advised to check later and if the problem still persists to give him a call. This way they don't charge any callout fee saving some money.
What I reckon is money is not important in here but the way how Trent has responded is very vital. I think he would been recognised by many people by now due to highest standard service level but as a courtesy I am leaving this comment as these days seldom we find a company like this and a person like Trent. Very impressed with the ethics and honesty.
I highly recommend to my friends. Thanks again Trent.

Great service

I had a switchboard failure on Sunday afternoon, and called Service Today. The telephone operator was very pleasant and helpful. The technician, Chris, arrived within the nominated time frame. He too had a very pleasant manner. He quickly found and corrected the problem. He noted that some wiring within the board, which had been installed some years ago by a licenced company who had issued a Certificate of Electrical Safety, was illegal. He issued me a written quote to correct the fault and to modernise the board. I accepted the quote, and expect the work to be done within a few days. Both the team members are a credit to your company. I would certainly recommend your company. Well done.

May 10th 2019 Update: Very satisfied again.

This is a follow-up to my review for work done on 4th May 2019. Today, (10th May) Michael attended to upgrade my switchboard in accordance with the quotation given by Chris at the time of the earlier work. Michael arrived at the agreed time. He had a very pleasant manner. When he had finished the job, he explained in detail the features of the new switchboard, and cleaned-up the worksite.

Suggested better alternatives that future proofed my home which made it easy for me to change my LED lighting preferences. Because of Service Today's electricians advice money was saved by customer. Fantastic service today

Needed an electrician fast this morning because I had a power failure yesterday arvo sometime which meant cold shower this morning & possible loss of food in fridge. Courteous polite professional!

Job No. #316761 Electricians Billy, Laz and Mark arrived on time at each visit. They went above and beyond to fix the problem in our lounge room following the electrical renovation of our bathroom. Billy sourced a superior product when asked and the finish is wonderful.

Great quick service

Job No. #321196 - Called the service centre on a Monday re a warranty item and the an appointment was made for the next day. Electricians arrived on time, fixed the problem and also conducted another job when asked.The work was conducted very efficiently and the work tested and certified. Very happy.
