They came on time and work was done in a tradesman like manner. No issues there. What I find hard to swallow is that the cost is in no way commensurate with the cost of the parts supplied or the job hourly rate. I think I am reasonable with my assessment that the cost for what should be a simple job is designed to extract the maximum amount of money. The quoting approach for such a job only acts to disguise the cost of material and labor and pressures the client to accept an overly expensive fee. I have paid it but will not call again.
You've lost me.....
Earlier this year I used Service Today Electrical which I was satisfied with and left a review here expressing my satisfaction with their work, even if it was a little on the expensive side. Well I cannot say the same about the plumbing which was just stupidly expensive. I don't know if they just think of a figure and double it but they have lost me as a customer

Averted a disaster!
The flexihose on a mixer tap had burst last night at around midnight. I jumped online to book a plumber for the morning and Dylan and Ben attended as soon as they could (the water had been turned off!) Dylan diagnosed the problem immediately and advised alternatives to resolve the problem, one of them being very cost effective indeed. I also had issues with a toilet plunger and shower leakage. This was quoted immediately and all the matters were resolved within a very short space of time from arrival. Dylan and Ben were very accomodating with ...the requests and very polite, courteous and professional. I would certainly have them out again to fix any problems that I have around the house. Well done boys! You deserve the recognition for. your service
Blatant over quoting
Service Today came to look at a very minor problem I had with a toilet which would occasionally leak. I was quoted $600 for this seemingly small job. I didn't want a whole new toilet and I didn't want to pay extra for membership. I didn't go ahead and just got a local plumber to come who changed a little rubber seal inside and charged $140. They must get away with this often or they wouldn't do it. Just steer clear of these people and get a local person.
Incredibly fast and convenient service.
My shower tap handles had come loose and there was a gaping hole behind them. At 7:30am, I called for a plumber and he was on my doorstep by 8:15am. He was friendly and knowledgeable and talked me through my option. He went and purchased the parts I needed and fixed it all quickly. He also took the time to check out a leak under my kitchen basin and was only too happy to help me resolve that as well in the same day.
Yes, it’s a little more expensive, but you pay for the convenience of an immediate response and a great job with a lifetime warranty on workmanship. I would definitely use this service again.
I really made a mistake calling Service Today. I am a tenant and the landlord was ok with me calling a company to fix the small leak I had in the bathroom and they would reimburse me the cost. Now I am told that the cost is many times what it should have reasonably been. I feel I was taken advantage of for not knowing what plumbers normally would charge
I called this company to unblock my drain. They said my drain needs to be replaced to fix it properly but I didn't have the kind of money they were going to charge to do that. They ended up just fixing it with the water jetting machine. Then it blocked up again and they wouldn't come back without charging again so I called another plumber. He discovered that the problem was actually not in my drain but out in the street and they got Sydney water to fix it for free. they didn't charge me either. So now I am angry at service today plumbers because it shouldn't have cost me anything
One star is generous for these liars...
After having some taps done I noticed that the plumber had left scratches on the vanity top where he had put his tools. When I brought this to his attention he flatly denied doing it and said they were there before which I know they were not. There was nothing I could do. Beware, take pictures before letting these people near your bathroom so you have proof
Prompt and Friendly Service
I called yesterday afternoon and they arranged service this morning. Ben arrived in time and was friendly. He also explained reasons of the blocked drain (Job 347305). After fixed the drain problem he did a comprehensive inspection for my smoke alarm, water tank, toilets. Very friendly. Happy with the service.
You decide how overpriced this took 40mins to replace 2 ft of plastic pipe with crimped joints $713.69

I diagnosed the concealed leak, I cut out the ceiling to gain access to it. They replaced the 2ft of plastic pipes
I told them the ceiling drip was increasing despite the upstairs bathroom not being used for 2 weeks whilst my mother was and is still in the hospital. Now doesn't that mean its an immediate point leak?
They quoted me over $387 to check that the leak wasn't coming from the showers upstairs by putting a bucket of dyed wate...r in the showers and screwing a pressure gage on the shower outlet only to find no leaks. Gee, what a half-hour cost? So I cut out the ceiling myself to show them where the pipe was leaking, yep there it was. (so he halved the upstairs shower testing charge thank God, I guess he felt guilty)
A total rip off
This company quoted my elderly mother nearly $600 to replace a tap. I cannot for the life of me fathom how they can arrive at this price. Even to go and pick up a tap from bunnings which wasn't more than $70 and then come back and put it in, it ends up being $250 per hour
Don't believe their advertising!
I was fooled by the special offer blocked drains and $50 off. But they dont try hard at all to unblock the drain and very quick in quoting 12,000 to fix it. No way I can pay this price so I end up calling another plumber who to my relief was able to unblock the drain straight away.
Expensive Stay Away
I had a five year old water heater which had developed a trickle of water constantly dripping from it. This company said it needed replacing and quoted over $3,000 for it. I found it odd that a heater of this age needed replacing, so I had to suck up their attendance fee and called another plumber who just replaced a valve for $212 and it's now as good as new. When I mentioned this to the second plumber I called, he said that this mob was known in the industry for this. Consumer beware..!
“Can they drain your wallet?” Yes they can
I wish I could erase my choice to call these people last week. I had a small hot water tank (50 litres) that needed to be replaced. The guy that turned up was polite and helpful enough. He informed me about a gadget that shuts the water off in case if a break or leak again plus a small tray for underneath the tank. It would push the already pricey quote up considerably (by 700 or so) but I presumed that the gadget must be expensive (like the fancy sounding hot water tank I was getting) After he left I looked at the work and jumped online. It tu...rns out that this magical gadget is worth just $150 at retail. When these guys invoiced me after he left I was shocked to see I’d been charged for an extra installation fee for the gadget + tray placement ( so around $600) to place a small tray, insert household batteries and press a button basically! Because I joined the VIP club I was only charged 500 for this instead. Lucky me. So, let’s crunch some numbers.. that’s about $1452 for installation and supply of a water tank (retails at about $650) and $600 for installation and supply of a Mildred shut off valve that (retails at around $150) I don’t know what a kitchen looking metal tray is worth, was it made of white gold? When I asked for an itemised invoice yesterday they still failed to display the actual price of individual items. Listing just one combined cost labelled “materials” and one of “operations” is not an itemised account. I’ve now probably forked out around $1300 worth of labour for a simple procedure valued at around $250 - $450 on average from most local plumbers. I intend to share my bad experience on many platforms tirelessly to help others so this doesn’t happen to anyone else. Please be aware, don’t be fooled by a magic show that makes your money disappear.
