Better than most of the modern rubbsh out there
SHARP R350YW (white 32 litre - classed as largish) - very good!
I previously had a RANK ARENA MW which is still going but rusting now a bit. Wow! What a great unit - it is now about 30 tears old! I only decided to get a new one because my wife wanted something more modern looking. After going through the retail stores I came to the conclusion that the new ones were far more flimsy than the my old super solid RANK. Most new models i tested in the stores had trouble mostly with the doors and push door opener plunger lever to open the door. They ...
Very happy with purchase!
We purchased this microwave after our Panasonic NN-SF550W (which I previously reviewed) gave the dreaded H98 error code half way through cooking something. We gleefully relegated the Panasonic to the rubbish tip (re-cycling section, of course!!) and headed to Harvey Norman and bought a Sharp R350Y (white), which was listed among the 'Choice' what to buy. My parents have had this model for some time and have been very happy with it, and the sales assistant at HN said it was the one they probably sold most often. After having the Sharp for a few ...weeks now we are REALLY happy with it. It out-performs the Panasonic in every instance and I don't find that I am missing the flatbed feature at all. The sensor cook is very reliable and does hard and soft vegetables beautifully. Dinner-plate re-heat is spot on and defrost is excellent. The keypad is pretty intuitive and heating is even. We are extremely happy with the product and are very comfortable with our return to Sharp. Should anything change I will update the review, but so far so good!
We had a Panasonic inverter microwave previous to buying a Sharp. For my money, the Sharp is easier to operate and much quieter. And with 1200 watts of power everything is noticeably quicker. I wasn't sure I was making the right choice when I first purchased the Sharp but I am very happy with the choice now.

Seems a good choice (owned for 6 Months)
I chose this particular microwave because I got it at quite a good price and from first inspection seemed to be of superior build quality compared to others. I came close to choosing an LG which was very similar, I ruled out the Panasonic because it does not have the key pad, which I find very quick and convenient for punching in the time. Aesthetically I preferred the sharp to the Samsung and it just seemed a little better quality build than the LG. Now I have owned it for 6 months I appreciate the solid door action and the smooth sound as it ...is operating. The touch pad on all the microwaves in this category look a little cheap, not like a screen on a tablet, which would bring it up to date and look vastly more refined in its finish, instead it is plasticky, reflective and a little uneven. It cooks very well and you notice it's 1200 watt power, although my main gripe is the fact the fan still runs in a cooling mode for about 30 seconds after you have used it, even if you only zapped something for 10 seconds! So as long as it lasts, it has a solid quality build, smooth operation and smart finish, the two things I dislike are the cooling function and the cheap looking control pad (which they all have). Some other brands also provide a longer warranty.

Lasted less than 2 years
I purchased this oven in April 2013 by 1 Feb 2015 it no longer works. It blew out the safety switch and now its dead. I had my previous Sharp microwave for 8 years, I dont expect things to last forever, but I do expect at least 5 years. I emailed Sharp, but have had no response. I was happy with the oven up till then, although it constantly had finger prints on the control panel and the door slams too hard which is very grating.
So far so good
Our old Sharp Carousel bought in 1993 went for 20 years without a hitch! We replaced it as the internal card was burning slightly. (The flat bed panasonic we replaced it with went back as the heating cooking times were riduculously slow) We have gone back to Sharp, it works fine but seems to have a noisy magnetron, behind the internal card in the oven. Everything else is good, but we also bought an extra 2 years warranty. You know the saying, "They don't make em like they used to!" Buy the extra warranty every time, if it goes for 3 years you might get ten out of it.
I had this model for a few months and love it . Its very fast and efficient . This is my second sharp microwave and I have had no problems at all . I use mine about a dozen or more times a day every day and I change mine every 2-3 years for efficiency as they don't last for ever at all . I would happily buy my 3rd sharp and I have had many brands of microwaves in the last 30 years .
more every day potions like the melt soften option I love
