The plastic shelves aren't robust to last, they crack then break. Sharp advised that they don't hold spares, that I must pay for replacements from Tempo.
After around 5 years the fridge stopped cooling. I contacted the GoodGuy's who organised a repair (In Home Fault Remedy 5741999), after waiting 3 days I called the repairer on the Remedy, in Mossman, they didn't know anything or repair in my area.
When I called the GoodGuy's again they advised there was no repairer in Cairns? (Case No 00633771)

What a Stylish and Unique Refrigerator!
Absolutely in love with my Black, Sharp Refrigerator! Purchased it 3.5 years ago and still working well. It's spacious, very stylish and the best part is that it has a glass outer cover/layer, which is wonderful because you can use it as a notice board if you write (or even draw on them) with POSCA pens (the ones they use on shop windows...they can be wiped off with wet paper towel or cloth - Officeworks has lots of different colours)
Very pretty fridge
No problems as yet after 2 months of use. Very nice looking fridge, definitely get a lot of positive comments! Only issue is the veg drawers can't be pulled all the way out unless door is ALL the way open. Otherwise, practical and functional, I do really love this fridge
We boughtthe fridge for $1500 a couple years ago it always had bad condensation on the freezer door .go back to hervey norman and they say it humidity. So now we go back again the door is leaking air out through thd seals the freezer is full of ice carnt see the food at all .it looks like we bought a lemon looks very poorly built doors stick with the brands 1500 down
Door does not seal
Bought this fridge a few years ago but top of door does not seal as it was outside of warranty used my product replacement warranty from harvey norman that was an issue on its own and they have finally agreed to replace it nice looking fridge but door very flimsy which is why it distorted and not sealing.
Have had this fridge for almost three months now and it seems to be working fine. A little noisier than my 10 years old Westinghouse but it's not too bad and it doesn't go on all the time.
Some observations: 1) there's some strange cracking noise sometimes (when the motor kicks in, not when opening the door as the other reviewer noticed) but still can't pinpoint what it is or if it's an issue to be concerned about so just need to wait and see, I supposed. 2) the handle of the fridge now seems to be a little further forward to the front than...the freezer door handle which wasn't the case at purchase time. However, the seal around the door still seems fine - tightly in contact so hopefully it doesn't get worse from here. Overall, the pros: the glass doors look good and easy to clean. Very good price compared with other comparable large fridges. Good energy rating (based on the estimates on the fridge door) for a large fridge. Door alarm works well. The led blue light inside takes a bit of getting used to but is bright enough for me. The cons, apart from the noise, are (1) the fixed shelf that can't be folded/moved by half (without taking out the whole shelf) to make space for extra tall items temporarily. One of my old fridge could do that so I expected new big fridges to have this feature. (2) the veggie and fruit drawers are two separate ones making both having the width of half the fridge door width and is a problem for long things like celery or long leafy greens which are too long or big to be placed in the veggie bin without being crushed.
Fridge looks good and I don't find it noisy.
However fridge door makes number of cracking noises when open and close.
Had to replace it withing a week, but the one I had as a replacement has developed the same issue withing a month.
Sharp service has attended and lubricated the door. After 3 month same issue.
I've purchased a Consierge insurance from The Good Guys and will be contacting them soon again and asking to replace the whole fridge due to the same problem.
Another poorly built product made in Thailand.
Noisy, poor build, poor warranty and customer service
Looks nice. Easy to clean - outside.
Bought on those points thinking would be a good fridge.
Twice I've called Sharp warranty, twice I was fobbed off and just told to deal with my my local service centre, who isn't so local.
First the seal failed. It was repaired by the service centre, then it started making a bad buzzing noise.
I was told nothing was wrong.
The local service centre was more concerned with making sure fridge was in warranty or who was paying them. It is only 14 months old.
I now put up with a constant buzzing fridge.
Fridge is not practical. ...Regret buying the fridge now. Poor shelving design, despite the cool outside. Dealing with the customer service was painful. Poor build. Poor warranty.
Sharp black glass fridge
Very good fridge with reasonable price
Quiet and easy to clean looks good in the kitchen very modern design food is preserved for longer
Only the problem that warranty places are very fare away from city and not part available in many places
Hope it will last long my older sharp lasted ,18 years and still was in working vondition
Not only does it compliment our colour scheme, the space inside is amazing making it so easy to load and easy to see. It is so quiet you need to stand beside it to hear it running. Cleaning is a breeze. We are so happy we chose this refrigerator, we just love it!
Big but not all good
I've had one for a day.
1. It's big
2. Looks great!
2. Dark (poor lighting inside)
3. Deep (so access is harder) ...
A great fridge for a big family
Our big family needed a big fridge but the budget was not going to stretch to much more than $1000. The outgoing fridge (F&P) had been repaired 3 times in 9 years but the little old Sharp that we bought as a young couple 15 years ago (now the beer fridge) is still going strong and has never needed repair. So we were actively looking for a Sharp fridge when we discovered this big beauty.
The black version is very swish-looking, but we went with the white version because it was a bit cheaper but also because the saleswoman couldn't say definit...ively that the black version, which apparently is glass plated, would be magnetic for fridge magnets (essential in our house). It's quiet. I never hear it. I love the blue interior light. I love that there is a light in the freezer compartment too. The freezer is HUGE. The dairy case at the top of the fridge was something that didn't impress me at the shop but we definitely use it, in fact I can see the benefit of it. So much space in the fridge, it keeps all those odd shaped packets together instead of them ending up hiding behind other things. It has a handy but not annoying beep if the door isn't shut properly or left open for too long. I was pleased to see that Sharp still have the twisty ice cube trays. It's not absolutely perfect. I notice the veggies go off quicker in the crisper drawers of this fridge compared to the old F&P so I tend to keep them in their plastic wrappers inside the crisper, previously I would remove all wrappers. Also, the shelves in the door are plastic and they crack easily. We cracked one in less than 6 months. This was an issue with our old little Sharp too, the plastic feels exactly the same in the new fridge as it does in 15 years older unit. I was really disappointed about this, it's not like we are rough with the fridge and it has been an issue with both Sharps and never a problem with the F&P. The main shelves in this big fridge are glass, but the edge has a little groove which I assume is decorative but does, annoyingly, collect grime quite easily and is a bit fiddly to clean. Overall, though, it's a great fridge for those who need a big fridge. I am happy with it and don't regret the purchase at all.
Had this fridge for over 6 months now. Beautiful looking and best of all works extremely well. My mum recommended this to me and I'm so glad I bought it. You can tell it's made well. Food stays fresher longer, compartments are well made and the design gets compliments from everyone who visits my home. No complaints.
Big, Bright and Bold Design!
The fridge is very good, plenty of space, good lighting in the fridge and freezer, the LED panel is a neat feature that gives this fridge a real high tech feel. The black glass is the real highlight and always receives great comments. The only small issue was a ding on the side of the fridge we found after pulling the box off, not something we would expect from a brand new fridge. We did apply for and receive a damage allowance credit from Sharp via the retailer.
Glad I didn't rely on the negative reviews on this one
I did so much research on this fridge as I immediately loved the sleek look of it, and really wanted it for my kitchen. After ready numerous reviews that it was considered noisy, I purchased it with my fingers crossed that it wouldn't be as bad as some people have said?. I don't know what other people's problems are with the noise. It sounds like a fridge running, it's not noisy at all??? I had an expensive well known brand previously and this fridge runs circles around my former one. A very happy customer here.
Looks great very noisy?
Had a fisher and pykel for years only reason for upgrade was to go a bigger size.
This sharp fridge caught out eye stylish and suitable to suit a family of 4 in my opinion.
I agree with another blogger this is very noisy considering it's not a heavy duty commercial grade fridge. I'm not sure if this is considered normal but I'm going to query this with my good guys store since this was only delivered on the 18th Feb 2015 so I can boast its brand new.
Older fridge is less noisier Price, style and space is great but economical and silent this still remains an "unsure in this case"

OK, but noisy
We got this after our smaller fridge of 13 years started playing up. Only been a few weeks now. Looks good, nice and big. However, I find it to be quite noisy, and the cycles seem to go on and on... I made sure there is enough clearance all around, and there is no vibration on the machine that I could feel. The feet have been adjusted so that the machine is flush on the floor... Don't know. Perhaps I'm being hyper sensitive and expecting too much. Thought newer machines should've been quieter.
As others have mentioned, lighting is a bit of an ...
Awesome sized fridge but...
this is a great fridge. the size - i could go on for days talking about how great the freezer size is.
the fridge and compartments are ok but i feel you tend to forget when you put things toward the back and look sight because of the depth. my only question is - the LED lighting it is very dark when compaered to my own Kelvinator fridge - is sharp can help me with the lighting i would rate this fridge 10/10
Love This Fridge
After spending many years with a dud Samsung double door fridge which was a complete nightmare and nothing but problems, its finally nice to have a brand new fridge. I did alot of research on fridges as I didn't want to be stuck with a lemon again. It was a choice of this fridge or a panasonic that had rave reviews. After looking at both, this one just won me over. It looks so stylish. Had the choice of silver, white or black, but decided to be different to go with the black. So glad I did. It looks fantastic in my kitchen. I couldn't believe a...ll the room in the fridge and freezer. My double doir fridge/freezer was full and moving all the contents to the new sharp fridge made my new fridge look empty. Very impressed. Love the blue lights in the fridge. Love the top shelf that pulls out with ease to store your keep chilled items. So much room on the door for my 3 litre milk containers and drinks. Only gripe would be that it does stand out abit more than my other fridge from the back wall as it has a curved casing at that back of the fridge opposed to the flat casing my old fridge had, but doesn't bother me too much as I still have plenty of room in front of it to open doors etc. Love the glass look doors, so easy to clean and gives it the classy look. Overall very impressed and would definitetly recommend it to others. Just love it and so happy I went with the sharp.
Questions & Answers
Can someone tell me how you remove the shelf at the bottom. The one that holds the crisper draws in. Thank you

Hi, We have the SJGC584RBK Black Glass model (stainless steel door handles on the LHS & door hinges on the RHS) and love it. We purchased it from The Good Guys in Darwin.
We would like to know if Sharp makes this fridge with the stainless steel door handles on the RHS (so hinges are on the LHS) as we would like to purchase another one? just opposite to the one we have. Hope this makes sense. Cheers, Adele
