Lengthy wait, wrong colour supplied and installed.
I placed an order with Shutters Australia in May of this year for 3 windows of plantations shutters, with an estimated supply and install date of 10 weeks. Seemed standard and reasonable. I paid a 50% deposit to accept the quote.
In July when the shutters should have been almost ready, I received a text to say they would be pushed back to September install. In August I received another text to state they would be an October install.
They were installed in October, some 5 months after ordering, and they are the wrong colour! I ordered "vivid wh...

So disappointed
After using this company many times and being happy with the product and support we are unfortunately so disappointed with the company. After being mislead as to how long our shutters would take we agreed and paid the deposit. The lead time was quoted as about 8 weeks as there would be delays, despite the website saying 1-2 weeks. Still 5 months later, we do not have the product installed and are texted each month saying of a further delay with no apology. I have called several times to ask for a discount due to the inconvenience yet they refus...
Read moree to give any compensation for the lengthy delays. The staff we speak to are kind but very dismissive and at times verbally aggressive. I wish I could write a kinder review however this is literally the worst company I have had to deal with. Good parts...the lady who did our measure and quote was lovely, professional and great at her job!- 4 reviews

Disappointed
Poor customer service, over priced and amateur/ reckless installation.
A gruelling 7 months ordeal, including numerous SA representatives attending our home to resolve ongoing product and install issues.
Should have read ALL online reviews incl Facebook before regrettably selecting Shutters Australia.
Visited Castle Hill showroom late August 2020 to discuss our requirements with a sales representative.
We required plantation shutters to cover our aluminium sliding door, originally requesting 4 folding panels, but the sales rep suggested slidin...

Dissatisfied
We cannot recommend Shutters Australia (also known as Inwood) due to poor Customer Service. We requested a quotation for supply and install of aluminum shutters for 7-windows; 2-large ranch-slider sized windows, 3-large bay windows, and 2-standard 1.5m windows. A week later a man came to do the quotation, and a further week someone came to verify the measurements. This was in August-2020 and neither of these men wore COVID masks which we thought disrespectful. We obtained alternate quotes and those companies reps wore masks. We accepted Shutter...
Read mores Australia quote on Aug-25. The installer came on Oct-9, 6-weeks after paying the deposit (they originally said it would be 4-5 weeks). Straight away the installer said the shutters were incorrectly made to fit the 3-bay windows. What was most annoying is that we had removed all the drapes and lace curtains and had to do a make-shift re-fitting of them, as the rails had already been taken in a hard-rubbish collection. The installer went ahead and installed the other 5-windows. However, the frames were not assembled by the factory and the installer had to lay them out on our front lawn to be drilled and pop-rivetted. Later we had to pick up all the aluminum drill shavings and pop-rivets from the grass so our grandsons would not get injured feet. The large windows would not fit through our door, so the pop-rivets needed to be drilled out, then the frame reassembled in our lounge room. The shutters in the lounge room did not align with the frame of the windows, so from outside it looked unsightly. The installer said he would return and take that shutter back to the factory to be remade. The shutter in our main street-level bedroom had a center strip missing which would cover the gap for privacy. The installer said he would fit that next visit. How the original two men who did the quotation and verification were unaware of the Bay-windows or failed to make this clear on the hand-written quotation sheet (which was barely legible) one would have to conclude was incompetence. So, the installer returned Oct-23 (5-hours late) to install the 3-bay windows. Again, the shutters were not assembled, just held together with masking tape. The installer spent hours in 30-plus degree heat drilling and pop-riveting in our driveway. Still the center-strip for the bedroom shutters was not supplied. He said someone would phone to make a time for the removal of the lounge shutters to be modified. After 3-weeks with no phone call we sent an email of complaint to Shutters Australia on Nov-11. The following day a reply was received saying ‘someone would get back “shortly” re follow-up for the re-make.’ That appointment didn’t happen for a further 4-weeks on Dec-11 for collection of the lounge shutter. However, the installer did not arrive at the arranged time and a message was received at 4pm that he would not arrive, and another time would be arranged. We do not believe that Shutters Australia had any intention of rectifying their poor workmanship. There seems to be a dis-connect between senior management and operations, or they just don’t care, because after receiving a written complaint there was no urgency to fix the problem promptly. We wrote and advised that we didn’t want Shutters Australia back. We had lost all confidence in their capabilities. 3rd Time Unlucky!
Had to visit 3 times to correct issues, installed wrong motors, measured incorrectly then installed blinds backwards. After the 3rd visit the installer said he does not know how to connect the electric blinds and we need to pay an electrician.
No Customer Service from the start.
I can't comment on the product as I didn't get that far.
Made appointment with [name removed] who said that the sales person [name removed] would call after lunch the fay before with a time. By 4pm day before I had not heard. Called them and [name removed] said he would call me back. 5pm no call and the office was closed. I couldn't call the off until 9am the next morning to be told that [name removed] had written down my number incorrectly so they couldn't call me. My appointment was at 10.30 so I said that I had another meeting and would be ...
Misleading sales people & bad customer service.
Sales person sold me on blinds and when item wrong they do not want to know. Bad customer service also on delivery. Times. Seems they tell you anything to get sale.

Shutters Australia now trading as Inwood Blinds
Used this company a second time to fit blinds and mentioned the motorised blinds previously installed were not working. The woman who came to assess said she would tell someone at the office to book a service call as the motor had obviously gone. Subsequent visits by another man who measured again, and a third who installed the new blinds both saying it was obviously the motor which had gone and they would get someone at the office to call me with a service date to fix the motor. No-one rang me so I rang them and asked for a service call and th...
Read moreey said they would call me back with a service date. No-one rang me so I rang back again - they couldn't find my details. Eventually they did find my details and sent a man to fix the motor. I asked to make sure he brought a motor as three people told me it was broken. He didn't - and he said he is not allowed to touch electrical parts of the motorised blinds which is weird because they installed them. And he said they don't make them anymore so he didn't know what to do. He told me they had no details on file what they had installed before. And he thought the previous three people who came round 'probably forgot' about the service request. Enough said?Worst Company Bad customer service.
Ordered blinds in November of last year. Waited 10 weeks for delivery and then another 2 weeks blamed on a strike at the docs??
When the blinds were fitted the installer did not fill in any of the gaps around the shutters and when I called the office they said there would be a 2 week wait before someone could come out. Since then I have had nothing but problems. The customer service is non existant and the customer service manager arrogant and did not care about my problem.
The shutters are now peeling.
Do not use this company as their policy seems to be to sell the products but not follow up on the problems.

Wish I read these reviews before dealing with such an awful company.
I had a lovely lady come to measure and quote what I told her to be every window except the bathroom. I was happy with the quote, however what was written on there were just measurements to me,as this is not my area of expertise- clearly not theirs either. I had another guy come and remeasure and then he came back to install..only for one bedroom window not to be measured or quoted at all. He blamed it on the original lady- however he clearly had no common sense. Why would I get every window bar one?! I was then forced to pay for an extra windo...
Read morew! The original lady just told me a figure for what I expected to be every window but the bathroom! Trying to explain having a quote done is for a reason, I could of gone with another company. This fell on def ears, I have complained with nil call back or response via email. Also when the installer came the first time not all the blinds were put up due to wrong measurements! The night half of our blinds were installed, the one that was above our bed fell down. The installer also doesn't listen as to where we wanted to the cord/controller. Had to repeatedly tell him which side I wanted a particular cord because we have little children..also kept leaving little screws around the house..I have a one and three year old, nothing else needs to be said about that. They do not return calls. Had to chase them about picking up the blind that fell down. The installer also does not call to say when he will be arriving. Just shows up. Terrible experience. Also no info left about how to care for blinds ( I have roller) eg products not to use..and no idea about warranty. Wouldn't even give one star-but have to to write review. The blinds are very poor quality that leave dent marks very easily if you have touched them or leave something near it. Most of them have crease marks along the bottom where the metal bar has been put on. Obviously I can go on and on...- 4 reviews

Worst company I have ever had to deal with!!!!!
I ordered blinds and shutters. The blinds were supposed to be sheer and let light in but instead I needed lights on in the middle of the day. Told the installer who rang office I said I wasn't going to pay for them as I was told they would be exactly the same as an existing room. I was then threatened by the customer service manager that he would tell the installer to remove all 3 rooms of already installed shutters I was that upset I was crying as I have quite a severe heart condition told him, please I am sick, he replied I don't give a damn. Then I said ok take your product give me my 50% deposit back now. He did not!!! Shutters I talked badly as well. Do not use this company they are disgusting!!!
terrible customer service! Warranty policy non -existent
I had a terrible experience with these guys today. Our awning broke off yesterday, the elbow joint just broke completely, leaving the awning to hang halfway on to the deck. It should be covered under warranty and I spoke to the customer service person, then to "the manager" and they just repeated themselves saying it was my fault for leaving it out in bad weather! Arguing this I was told that I will have to pay the call out fee or no-one will come out! I re-assured that we ALWAYS take the awning in when bad weather and the weather yesterday was...
Read more fine anyway! When I asked to speak to the manufacturer I was told he is downstairs and too busy to talk to me. I said I was very unhappy for being accused of having mistreated the awning which is not even 3 years old and did cost $4000 and was told that this type of problem ONLY happens when left out in bad weather. I said that at least the repair person could assess te problem before I am charged with a call out fee and it didn`t sound like they want to do it this way. VERY UNHAPPY, so unprofessional and to say the person on top is too busy to talk to upset customers is just dodgy! What type of business manager is that??Never to recommend shutters australia!Find out how Shutters Australia compares to other Blind & Shutter Shops

Incredibly disappointing
Incredibly disappointing. My wife and I visited their offices in Castle Hill. We arrived at 3.15pm, walked up to the showroom only to be "eyed" by an uncaring receptionist. It was as if we were an intrusion to her day. It wasn't until after waiting for awhile that we decided to walk down the stairs to leave when a staff came to attend to us. Her service was good. We hadn't even left the showroom and the receptionist came out of her desk only to busy herself tying up their office rubbish bag in front of my wife and I as if to say they want to go home. The signage on their office says they were opened to 4pm. We arrived 3.15 pm. Yeah, incredibly disappointing.
Customer Service poor rating
As a builder and professional in large business I was absolutely shocked to have the service provided to me by Shutters Australia. Don't recommend them at all and its no wonder that customers are frustrated and taking their business elsewhere.
Time wasting and not good service at all.

Average quality. Extremely long wait for install.
Having read all the bad reviews before placing the order, I was hoping I could be one of the minority who will get a good product and good service. Unfortunately not. The range of fabric choice for the roller blinds is acceptable, the quality is average, but the price is slightly above average. The venetian blind options are very limited, quality is very poor (worse than online DIY ones), and cost is double as much. Took 6 weeks for the first delivery which is standard. The installer was drilling holes that are not needed. He was trying to inst...
Read moreall the chain holders when it is not required (it is above the regulatory height). One of the venetian blind was oversized as the measurer did not measure at three points in the window reveal like she was supposed to so the blades had to be cut down to size. Then the mechanism was found to be jammed and did not lower the blades. He said he will order a replacement blind. I called up two weeks later as I had not heard any news. I was told it will be ordered then and will take another 6 weeks. Another 7 weeks have gone by and I had to call up again to get an update. Then they started to organise the delivery and was more concerned about when they are getting paid the balance. Delivery was attempted even though I had told them to leave it at the front door and they can call me for payment. Nothing happened that day. Third delivery was attempted again another week later. It is now finally delivered and paid for. But I have found the blind is undersized and is leaving gaps around the window and barely fitted in the bracket. I'll just order one online to get it fixed quicker. Never again.Questions & Answers
