Disappointed
Poor customer service, over priced and amateur/ reckless installation.
A gruelling 7 months ordeal, including numerous SA representatives attending our home to resolve ongoing product and install issues.
Should have read ALL online reviews incl Facebook before regrettably selecting Shutters Australia.
Visited Castle Hill showroom late August 2020 to discuss our requirements with a sales representative.
We required plantation shutters to cover our aluminium sliding door, originally requesting 4 folding panels, but the sales rep suggested slidin...

Dissatisfied
We cannot recommend Shutters Australia (also known as Inwood) due to poor Customer Service. We requested a quotation for supply and install of aluminum shutters for 7-windows; 2-large ranch-slider sized windows, 3-large bay windows, and 2-standard 1.5m windows. A week later a man came to do the quotation, and a further week someone came to verify the measurements. This was in August-2020 and neither of these men wore COVID masks which we thought disrespectful. We obtained alternate quotes and those companies reps wore masks. We accepted Shutter...
Read mores Australia quote on Aug-25. The installer came on Oct-9, 6-weeks after paying the deposit (they originally said it would be 4-5 weeks). Straight away the installer said the shutters were incorrectly made to fit the 3-bay windows. What was most annoying is that we had removed all the drapes and lace curtains and had to do a make-shift re-fitting of them, as the rails had already been taken in a hard-rubbish collection. The installer went ahead and installed the other 5-windows. However, the frames were not assembled by the factory and the installer had to lay them out on our front lawn to be drilled and pop-rivetted. Later we had to pick up all the aluminum drill shavings and pop-rivets from the grass so our grandsons would not get injured feet. The large windows would not fit through our door, so the pop-rivets needed to be drilled out, then the frame reassembled in our lounge room. The shutters in the lounge room did not align with the frame of the windows, so from outside it looked unsightly. The installer said he would return and take that shutter back to the factory to be remade. The shutter in our main street-level bedroom had a center strip missing which would cover the gap for privacy. The installer said he would fit that next visit. How the original two men who did the quotation and verification were unaware of the Bay-windows or failed to make this clear on the hand-written quotation sheet (which was barely legible) one would have to conclude was incompetence. So, the installer returned Oct-23 (5-hours late) to install the 3-bay windows. Again, the shutters were not assembled, just held together with masking tape. The installer spent hours in 30-plus degree heat drilling and pop-riveting in our driveway. Still the center-strip for the bedroom shutters was not supplied. He said someone would phone to make a time for the removal of the lounge shutters to be modified. After 3-weeks with no phone call we sent an email of complaint to Shutters Australia on Nov-11. The following day a reply was received saying ‘someone would get back “shortly” re follow-up for the re-make.’ That appointment didn’t happen for a further 4-weeks on Dec-11 for collection of the lounge shutter. However, the installer did not arrive at the arranged time and a message was received at 4pm that he would not arrive, and another time would be arranged. We do not believe that Shutters Australia had any intention of rectifying their poor workmanship. There seems to be a dis-connect between senior management and operations, or they just don’t care, because after receiving a written complaint there was no urgency to fix the problem promptly. We wrote and advised that we didn’t want Shutters Australia back. We had lost all confidence in their capabilities. (ref: 93836 & 37).Questions & Answers
