The best international airline I’ve flown and I’ve flown many
We recently were unfortunate travellers during Covid 19 flight cancellations and airport transit restrictions while overseas visiting family. Despite the enormous stress and anxiety at the time in trying to get through to Singapore Airlines by phone (Lines were jammed with thousands of calls I believe) while overseas to see when and how we could return home, we subsequently made it home and the follow up since then by the airline has been excellent despite the huge stress they must also be under. I am very happy with the assistance they offered and will continue to choose them as my international airline of choice.

Long wait for our refund
Be wary - still waiting for refund after 2 months.
We have been waiting over 2 months for a refund of our flights from Perth to India. We have managed to get through to Singapore airlines 3 or 4 times by phone and each time they have told us they will escalate our refund claim. And we are STILL WAITING. It is almost impossible to get hold of them. They don’t care. They have been holding our money since December and we want it back. We won’t be booking with Singapore Airlines again after this experience.

Joke of a company.
We booked flights valued at $4000+ on 26th April 2019 for flights in March 2020. Our flights were cancelled by the airline and as of the 5th June 2020 we cannot get anywhere with Singapore airlines or Wotif who we mistakenly booked through. They blame each other and will not speak to each other, shifting blame constantly as to who is not authorising our refund. An absolute joke of 2 companies- none taking responsibility. Will not use either ever again and advise anyone looking to book flights to read reviews. We have been left with no choice but to commence legal action as all other avenues have been exhausted.

SIA Hopeless Pathetic At Best.
I fully paid return tickets from Australia to Singapore and Philippines 19th December 2019.
On the 15th January 2020 my wife was advise by her doctor not travel as the Con Vid 19 was in the Asian Pacific Area and would be at high risk due to her heart condition. I cancelled the flights had travel insurance but this where everything goes horribly wrong.
SIA stated unless the countries of Australia and Singapore are closed we cannot get any kind of refund. On the February 25th heart specialist stated don’t travel very high risk.
SAI stated I cou...Read more

SIA using delay tactics for refunds
I was an early bird to request for a refund and was told it would take 3 - 4 weeks. After 3 phone calls and 6 weeks of waiting, now I've been told it takes 14 weeks to get my refund!! We are currently facing unemployment and cashflow problems, and they are dragging their feet!?
Shame on them!! Can't they put a few more temporary staff or use their cabin crew (who are laid up) to help?
Are they trying to force us back into keeping a credit for future travel or another delay tactic for more $$$? It's appalling!
For those who have opted for the credit... Goodluck!! You will most probably find lots of obstacles getting a booking... They'll push you to pay more to get a flight reservation. Who knows what they have in store for you.

Lots of waiting ...
Despite SA cancelling a flight to Europe weeks ago it kept showing in the app as confirmed.
Finally an email to me cancelling it. I had previously requested a refund (non refundable ticket) as Singapore wasn’t allowing transit through its airport from high risk European countries. They were always quick to decline the refund.
Now I’ve had my request in for a month (when I noticed flight cancelled), they’ve acknowledged my request by writing to me but refund not processed or confirmed. I understand it’s unprecedented times but their cheap and na...Read more

An airline that does consider their customers.
Like many others around the world with travel arrangements cancelled and now trying to go thru the refund process SINGAPORE AIR in my opinion top the list for good and fair customer support. I have 3 carriers involved and have found that they are not very transparent when trying to get your refund or credit even when the airline has cancelled the flight. They just want you to go away or pay high cancellation charges not so with SINGAPORE AIR their policy is very clear and yes helps the loyal customer. So good to see as it is hell going thru the airlines ,hoteliers and worst of all HOTEL .COM just get the same reply if you are lucky to even get a reply.so sq get my vote excellent.

Thankyou for a Pain free resolution
While it has taken more then a month to have confirmation of my COVID19 Assistance entitlements and to receive any written confirmation of original actions taken to put our flights on hold at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic escalation on the 9th March.
Once you get through on the very busy phone lines, Singapore Airlines are being extremely fair and reasonable. I received a really clear description of my options ( Refund or Flight credits) and the representative was more then happy to stay on the line to work on my booking in the backg...Read more

Helped on providing accurate information even though the booking was made from an external agency
Due to the COVID-19 issue, my flight dated April 16, 2020, got cancelled. My travel agency (from where I did the booking ) didn't inform me about the cancellation. But to my surprise, I got a regular email about my flight update, cancellation from Singapore Airlines. Once, I found my flight was cancelled, I tried again to contact my travel agency about the options of either refund or flight credit but they were not reachable by phone and were not replying to my mail. So, I had to contact Singapore airlines and within a few days, they replied m...Read more
e back about the options of refund and flight credit. They even contacted me via phone on my eligibility of full refund. In this crisis, though Singapore airlines were occupied by their own bookings, they were kind enough to assist me. Next time, won't book from the agency but will directly book from the airlines. Though my ticket was NON REFUNDABLE, due to current crisis Singapore Airlines made changes to allow people like me to get a full refund. Thank you.Similar opinion? Selfish singapore airlines shows there true colours.
I booked my flights to Australia > Thailand return for July 2020 , part of the ticket was with Jetstar and the return leg was with Singapore airlines and Virgin. Surprisingly when Covid 19 came along Jetstar and Virgin offered travel credits straight away for customers who could not travel due to the ban on travelling overseas from Australia. To my utmost surprise, Singapore Airlines has shown 0 flexibility or compassion for their customers and still does not offer a refund / credit or even a free rebooking of my flight. This really reflects h...Read more
ow selfish a so called "tier 1" airline can be, and how compassionate a "economy" airline such as Jetstar can be. So lessons learned, is that I will never-ever travel again with this selfish airline or I would never recommend it. No doubt Singapore airlines will survive the covid 19 crisis - but when people were in need , we will remember that Singapore airlines was not there for them.Similar opinion? Terrible company
This company have proven to be selfish during the time of Covid-19. The world is suffering and they don’t care about the little people. We were supposed to fly with them but when WHO increased the level of virus caution in Japan we needed to cancel due to a heart condition. My flight was flexible however I was charged an outrageous cancelation fee. Why would I want to use this airline again if they can’t help people during a pandemic?! They also took weeks to respond to emails and I was waiting two hours on the phone to talk to someone. Shame on you Singapore airlines!

Best customer service I have experienced
Singapore Airlines have by far been the best company I have had to deal with during the current worldwide situation. My Mum was booked to travel from Melbourne to London on the 15th April flying Singapore airlines. I called and was put through to a customer service operator within 15 minutes and the lovely lady was able to speak with her manager and approve a refund for my elderly mum. This is such a relief to her and when she hopefully organises new flights next year, she will definitely be booking with Singapore Airlines.
Thanks again :)

Hopeless in this Disaster
Singapore Airlines are supposed to be the number one airline in the world? Certainly not currently. Surely you have had time to get your act together by now. Impossible to contact by phone, email and social media. How can it be taking weeks to contact customers who have paid lots of money to fly with you. Terrible service. Not wanting to refund flights that you have cancelled is not fair. Only offering change of dates but insisting on using the credits in less than 12 months even!! I truly was not expecting Singapore Airlines to be so hopeless.

Cold, Hard & Desperate Airline. Very sad.
I have downgraded SIA from a 4 star to 1 star.
After I ordered my FIVE tickets covering my family and I with SIA, the Singapore Government stopped all foreigners from transiting through the Singapore Airport.
So, my FIVE tickets are USELESS. I ordered an extra 3 tickets so we could get home a bit quicker but not quick enough. We were prepared to sit in the transit area for THREE DAYS with our 3 year old toddler to get home, much to our disgust.
When I read that the SINGAPORE TRANSIT AREA was to be closed I then sent an email direct to SIA aski...Read more

Highly cooperative staff
I booked my return ticket on Skyscanner from Melbourne to Delhi. My return date was 25th of march 2020. On 17th I got a mail from the airline that Singapore to Melbourne flight is cancelled and to reschedule please contact your agent. I contacted my agent and informed them about this situation. They were not aware about this cancellation. I asked to reschedule my flight for 20th March. I noted my request and told me that they will inform the airline about this and will let me know Asap.
I did not receive any reply from them till 19th March and...Read more

France flight / Coronavirus active/ poor customer care !
I’m appalled at the lack of flexibility within Singapore Airlines Australia.
My Daughter and her fourteen year old son have business class tickets from Perth to Paris due to depart March 2020.
My daughter suffers mental health issues and chronic anxiety, and under the care of a Psychiatrist . My Grandson has been on medication for several years , his immune system is compromised due to lack of vitamins and he contracts tonsillitis , colds and viruses repeatedly .
My Daughter has appealed to Singapore Airlines in Melbourne to postpone the flig...Read more

Do not book with this awful company
DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS DISHONEST CHEATING AND LYING COMPANY. Their price match guarantee is absolutely rigged with changing rules they make up as they go. I spent 2 weeks providing evidence of the exact same but cheaper fare on a competitor's website and they still came up with dishonest terms and conditions that conflicted with their own instructions. For example, their website says no need to book with the other provider but then they rejected my claim and evidence because it did not break down the fare by individual provider - I can not ge...Read more
t a break down unless I purchase the fare (which they tell you not to do!!!). Another example...as we're travelling with children, Singapore Air gave us free seat allocation automatically but only on the return flight (unsure why?!) even though I nominated an 'economy' fare. I provided evidence of this same economy fare from a competitor to them but again they rejected because its not the same class of travel even though they're the ones that upgraded us!!!! Bottom line is that the fares are exactly the same except the other provider is much cheaper yet Singapore don't want to admit this basic fact and play games and cheat you into booking with them. I have since reported them to Australian consumer affairs who are looking into their seemingly fraudulent price match "guarantee".Similar opinion? Write a review on ProductReview.com.au!

Disappointing Customer Service
We were planning a holiday to Paris in Oct 2020 and booked the flights months ago.
Now that COVID 19 is an issue and travel insurance wont cover us if we get sick while we are away, we decided to ask if the flight can be moved to 2021 to give this time to blow over and Singapore Airlines would not help. We have flown a few times with Singapore and always liked them but I find it a bit disappointing when you cant travel due to circumstances beyond our control and no one wants to give any assistance. Looks like that is $2500 we will never see again.

Never Again
Our cruise was cancelled due to the corona virus. The cruise company gave us a full refund and almost 50% off our next cruise which we have booked. After endless emails and holding on the phone for well over 40 minutes with Singapore Airline's I was told that they can suspend our flights but we need to rebook by June and pay an extra re-booking fee of $480 each. We paid a total of $1288 for the fares. Now i can understand this if we had just decided to change our plans for no other reason but the cruise being cancelled was totally out of our ha...Read more
nds. In a situation like this you would think that they could waiver the rebooking fee as a gesture of good customer service and support but not the case at all. We are flying to Singapore in October for our cruise but will not ever fly with this airline again.Similar opinion? Write a review on ProductReview.com.au!

Fare deals : you get the email with the special fare deals to Singapore (from$751) you try to book on the dates like this ones :
Outbound Travel Period 17 February 2020 - 26 March 2020
20 April 2020 - 18 June 2020
13 July 2020 - 18 September 2020
05 October 2020 - 30 November 2020
The $751 fare is not available any of this days , the closest is $753 , once you click on that fare , by magic , it becomes over $900 !
