Great range hood shamefull service
I have owned the twin engined version for just over 2 years. Powerful and quiet (ducted through the roof)). Easy to maintain and have only had the one problem so far. The light cover decided to drop away which needed some tape to stop it falling completely off. Tried for over 2 hours to contact spares by phone, gave up and tried emailing with no success. Have ordered the light strip to replace for $156.00 plus $35.00 delivery and hoping that it comes with the cover. Sirius or Arisit can not be contacted online or offline. Their service is that bad I would rather pay than proceed with a warranty claim. It appears the cover can not be bought seperate from the light bar.
Purchased in April 2018 for $850.00.

Major Problem with Sirius Ducting Kit - rainwater ingress & non-existent after sales support
UPDATE 09/20: The Sirius Team have sent their own nominated installer to look at the issue and identified some areas that were rectified. Hopefully this will resolve the matter. Will not know until it rains at which time, we will post another update. We cannot fault the rangehood itself - it's a great product and very easy to clean. There could be room for improvement with the ducting kit/installation instructions.
Purchased a Sirius L520 Rangehood and genuine Sirius Roof Ducting Kit 14 months ago. Every time it rains our cooktop is saturated...
Read more with water coming through the motor unit of the Rangehood. Our installer has come out 3 times and all he can ascertain is that water is coming through the top of the roof ducting kit and down into the rangehood. He has done everything he can to seal it so it has nothing to do with the installation. The Sirius support team have been very slow to respond and are now hiding behind COVID-19 restrictions by not taking calls or responding to emails at all! The only thing they have done when we initially contacted them is supply us with longer ducting and a different cap which was the wrong diameter for the tube they supplied. Regardless, we continue to have a water feature in our new kitchen every time it rains! Sirius has not responded to our most recent attempt at contacting them. Based on the after sales support and lack of response, I would not recommend this product at all!Purchased in May 2019 at Harvey Norman.

Thank you for your response, however my partner has sent multiple emails and has had no response. He asked for a follow up email in the last few weeks and still no response. Given email is the only co...
Read moremmunication you allow, if you don't respond, how is a customer supposed to get any support? I would assume that despite lockdown restrictions, the entire team is at home and able to respond via email in a timely manner if that's the only mechanism you are advising people to use on your voice-message. Why aren't you able to contact customers via phone? We would prefer not to have to use this medium to be able to work towards a resolution, but feel we have no choice. RegardsAPPerth, WA

Good performance, lousy instructions
This range hood is nice, quiet and efficient, however there are a few areas for improvement:
1. The user manual/ installation instructions are atrocious. The wiring diagram for the SEM 1 model completely ignores the earth -it's not even shown! The manual actually says the unit "must not be earthed", despite the wiring harness from the motor being supplied with an earth wire. When you ring Ariston technical support, they confirm that actually you do need to earth the unit using a screw that is not supplied. If you followed the poorly interp...
Read morereted installation instructions, you could end up with an electrified range hood and ineffective electrical safety circuit. I wonder how many units have been installed in this manner and are an accident waiting to happen? 2. There are three manuals - one for the duct, one for the unit, and one for the motor. Each is equally confusing, poorly written and missing information. For example, the user is left to determine how to affix the plastic non-return butterfly duct transition on top of the undermount unit, with gaps left at front and back that require silicone. The duct flashing instruction is incomplete and does not detail how to fold the corners of the flashing under the tiles to prevent wind and rain ingress. Luckily I have done this before once or twice! The ducting kit only comes with two band clamps when four are needed. But for some reason they provide a 125-150mm adaptor which you don't require! 3. The screws at the back of the unit are very very difficult to access. The screws at the front of the unit can deform the stainless steel facing if done up too tightly, and the countersinking provided is not sufficient for the screw heads to sit flush. Our unit was supplied with damaged buttons. Thankfully this was repaired under warranty. It is hard to see how the damage occured after leaving the factory, since the packaging is some of the best I have ever seen! The box has triple or quadruple cardboard layers and foam. And it was an undamaged box. All up, I am hoping that the operation of the unit is far more trouble-free than the installation!2 comments

Hello, we're looking at the Turbo SI-TUR-520-BISS model and wondering if it's possible to retrospectively add an external motor if we find that it's not extracting powerfully enough with the inbuilt one? Also, we need one that is around 760m3 extraction rate - would this still be suitable or will it be having to work hard on the power boost setting every time we cook?!! Many thanks.

Can you use a Sirius SL906 L850 850MM rangehood with a 900MM Cook top or will it be to small? Thanks

Hi Chich,
The 850mm undermount rangehood is quite powerful so it should be fine over a 900mm cooktop. If you would like a stronger extraction rate but would like the same size rangehood, we recommend looking into the Sirius SL906-L EXCEL 850 rangehood, which is still 850mm wide but features a twin motor.

Dear Sirius Team
I am considering to buy Sirius SL906-L 850 but i am confused about the cost it will add to my total purchase. The rangehood alone cost around $1300 and i am still confused what other things we will need to get it fully installed with offboard motor. And how much is the installation charges and who can actually install the rangehood correctly.

Hi Kamal,
The SL906 L 850 has an onboard motor. If your wanting the external motor version of this undermount then the model number is SL906 EM-L 850. To get the rangehood installed correctly you will also need to purchase ducting.
We have a Ducting Guide to help you determine how to duct the rangehood and ducting kits on the Sirius Website.

For more information on ducting you can call our Sales Department on 1300 762 219.
Regards.
