Skoda , Volkswagen, Audi NO NO NO.
Bought a Skoda Yeti. Great car. Dealers were liars . I took them to small claims tribunal and won on several fronts. On reading some of your warranty refusals i can only advise , for 85$ lodge a complaint with fair trading. The thieves that are Skoda , Volkswagen ,Audi hate them and they have got teeth. Leaky sunroof through to non existent timing chains, rip it up em.
Bad Quality of manufacturing and design of the Gearbox
Bad Quality of manufacturing and design Gearbox, weak internal insulation, even if you spell by accident a bit of tea from the cup holder can lead to gearbox replacement for 3500$. I will never buy Skoda.
I have asked multiple mechanics and I have been told that Gearbox faults are a common problem.
I was shocked to know that. I will never buy Skoda at all.
Bad car service
Service manager at Richmond Skoda totally unprofessional. People try to solve the problem he create problem. I called to do my car service before the mileage reach. Due to fully book that I got no choice to make next available date. Which is couple weeks away that bring over my mileage. Now I may need to pay for my service which is mine problem. He said in couple I can do over 5K you must be a busy man. Come on where did Skoda find this man. I said look at my mileage how often I drove the car. I’m going to see his manager if I have to pay for my service
Essendon Skoda service....what service? Skoda au contact???
Skoda service centres are a shambles, they are clearly understaffed by people who simply don't care.
I booked my car in for a service, requesting the used car 4yr pack, a clearcoat repair on the roof which I was told would be fixed during the previous service and a loan car for the repair period, this was booked on 8th Feb 22 for 28th March.
On arrival on 28th March, I was informed there was no booking for my car, nobody had submitted a report on the clearcoat damage from the year before ( photos were taken and I was assured it would be dealt w...

3 Trips to get a new key
Skoda Southport.
Went down to order a 2nd key for the Superb wagon weeks ago.
Paid $270 up front.
One month later the key arrives but it has to be coded to the car, another $80 so $350 all up.
Couldn't code it then, have to book it in. Now I have to wait 2 weeks for a slot and TWO HOURS to code it.
Ex electrical engineer and I've programmed everything from 8 bit micros to multiple systems in minutes not hours!
I simply don't understand why they couldn't book me in when the key arrived but "the system doesn't allow it" I was told.
So 3 trips, hours wasted all for 20 bux worth of plastic. Love the car, pathetic Skoda Southport support.

Sydney City Skoda
Why did I buy my new Skoda Superb Scout from Sydney City Skoda when I live in Sydney’s west?
When searching for my new car I traveled all over Sydney’s Metro from Penrith in the west to Botany in the east and Hornsby in the north to Campbelltown in the south. After selecting the vehicle make & model that met my requirements I then looked at how we were treated at the different dealers and also researched online reviews by previous customers particularly in regards to after sales services and their treatment by the service department.
I selecte...

Great car, shocking service
We bought a Superb (our second) new from Pennant Hills Skoda. Love the car. But recently we found water was getting in through the sunroof, a lot of it. I took about 20 liters out of the boot well and the carpets were drenched. Long story short, I took it in for repair under warranty, and guess what, it's not covered. Apparently, the rear drains become blocked which causes the overflow into the car. The only way to clear the drains is to remove the sunroof, but if you do that you will invalidate your warranty. I see this is as a design fault, but Skoda tell me 'this is part of operator routine maintenance'. So beware, check with your dealer before ordering a sunroof on your car.
Excellent service at Brisbane City ŠKODA
I have been interested in replacing my current ŠKODA with a new model ŠKODA, and have always had fantastic 5 star dealings in the past and again recently with my local dealer in Bowen Hills, Brisbane City ŠKODA. I have however been reading these reviews to learn more, however I find some of these reviews lacking common sense. For example, 1 - asking if a “factory option” is fitted at the “factory” or at the dealer. The facts are in the name of the option. 2 - Not following a simple process to receive a refund. I personally have contacted ŠKODA ...
Read moreAustralia to check up on the no refund review below, and can confirm that when placing an order and deposit in the ŠKODA Australia website, (not with a dealer) I receive an email confirmation of 1 - my order with clear concise instructions of exactly how to cancel my order and 2 - the exact process to follow to receive my deposit back from ŠKODA Australia, should an issue arise. This email has not been followed and this process has clearly not been followed by the reviewer, and again yet another bad unwarranted review is made. There are always two sides to these stories. Once again, I am always treated with the upmost respect and professionalism by Brisbane City ŠKODA. Keep up the good work ŠKODA dealers.- 2 reviews
Is the question that hard to answer? Poor customer service
I recently ask a questions to Skoda Australia which appears to hard to answer regarding a product they sell.
I was interested in purchasing a Fabia wagon with a vision pack. So I went on to Skoda Australia website to the "contact us" link and filled in the form.
My complex question was;
" Is the vision pack added at the factory or by the dealer."
I got a response;
"Thank you for contacting SKODA Australia. Your interaction reference number is 2***********5. Our team will aim to respond to your email at the earliest opportunity."
After 5 days still no response so tried again, Skoda Australia website to the contact us link and filled in the form.
My question was;
"Still waiting for a reply to my question"...

I paid Skoda $500 for a deposit on a car, they sold it to someone else and they won't give my deposit back.
I bought a car online through their website and paid the $500 deposit. The car dealership called me and stated that the car has already been sold. I have called Skoda and Volkswagen 10 times and no one can seem to help get the refund back. I will never purchase a Skoda car now from this experience and I will be taking them to fair trading If I don't receive my deposit back this week.

Great brand
Went to Eastside Skoda in Nunawading to order a new umbrella for my Kodiaq as the I lost one that came with the car, placed an order and left all my contacts information and was told it would be delivered in a few weeks. I never got the call to say they were ready and Eastside Skoda never replied to my emails. At this stage, I decided to go to Peninsula Skoda and get it from there, the help I received from the team was above and beyond what I got at Eastside Skoda.
When buying a car, Essendon Skoda/Richmond are a helpful team, not pushy but there to help you make the right decision.
Avoid Eastside Skoda Nunawading And go to either Essendon/Richmond Skoda or Peninsula Skoda.

Buy a Skoda for the Car. Don't Expect after sales Service.
Dear Skoda and potential buyers of a Skoda. Since Skoda is unable to return a phone call or email, I have decided to share the following experience with the world.
For those that dont want to read the entire post, here is the TLDR.
Great car to drive, but none existent customer service. If you want service, you will be better off purchasing from another brand.
So, let me fill you in on my experiences with Skoda since March 2020. Sadly my father passed away at the beginning of March and I was left with his 2016 Skoda Superb.
In 2015 he atten...

Great car and sales, don't expect the same with servicing.
Very friendly and efficient sales team could not get the same level of response from the servicing team. Overall I would say the product is good, just aftercare that needs some serious attention.

Brisbane City Skoda new car sales department.
I have had a few interactions about a new Skoda with this company.
Some weeks ago I called with a simple question if they had a particular model variation in stock. An aggressive sales person wanted me to answer multiple questions before giving an answer. After a few answers, I advised him not to worry and I ended the call. To be fair, the manager did apologise laterp.
More recently, I visited the showroom to have a short spin, but not me driving yet. The salesperson was pleasant enough but could not answer some questions I had but that was not...
Love my Skoda but not service
Love my Skoda but looks like I will have to sell it. Can't find a service centre open on weekends to do airbag recall. Can't get there during the week a d it is not covered by insurance if not done
Questions & Answers
I'm thinking of buying a Skoda Karoq in Newcastle. Their servicing is done by the Audi centre here. What do you think of this arrangement?
This is a standard arrangement for Skoda. The service centre in Artarmon NSW is mainly an audi service centre and they cover Skoda. However, I would suggest being very cautious about purchasing a Skod...
Read morea in the first instance. They are great, value for money cars. But when you need help or assistance, good luck getting any from Skoda Australia and their dealers. They are incapable of answering a phone or returning a phone call. Buy the car for the car and expect to have no customer service when required.Thank you, Sean. I find the car itself very appealing. At first I thought it was expensive, but when I looked at buying a RAV4 or other similar medium SUV with all the stuff the Karoq has that I want,...
Read more they ended up being a similar price. But I'm wary about cost and availability of parts, and quality of after-sales care. Sounds like that's a realistic concern. We’re thinking of moving from a Mazda to a Skoda Kodiaq but we’re a little nervous about moving to a European brand and one that doesn’t have a lot of centres in Melbourne for support. Are we right to be nervous?
That's definitely the only concern of getting Skoda. The car itself is brilliant in its price. Richmond is much much better service centre than Eastside I would say.
Don’t do it! They sound like a great price for what’s included, but repair bills are ginormous & the service departments are woeful !
