90 days Interest Free on everyday purchases
9, 12 or 15 month Interest Free Instalment Plans to choose from (minimum finance amounts apply)
No International Transaction Fees
Motion Code Technology
$99 Annual Fee
Establishment Fee for Interest Free Instalment Plans ranges from 3% - 5%
Payment Handling Fee - $0.95 charged each time a payment is made via BPAY
The Skye Mastercard gives you two interest free finance options to choose from. Instead of the more common 44 or 55 interest free days, you can get up to 90 days breathing space on every card purchase. If you struggle to pay off your balance in full at the end of each statement period, this feature can help you save by reducing the amount of interest you would otherwise accumulate. This card does have a high standard purchase rate of 23.99% so if you don't pay off your balance in full within 90 days you could end up with a costly bill.
You also have the option to convert card purchases over $250 with a Skye retail partner to a long term interest free instalment plan of 9, 12 or 15 months (minimum monthly repayment applies). However, you'll have to pay a small establishment fee of 3, 4 or 5%. Keep this in mind because even if you don't have to pay interest on your purchase for a long period of time, the overall cost of your purchase will still be higher than if you pay it outright or within the 90 days interest free peiod
For overseas purchases you won't have to pay a foreign transaction fee and for added security, this card also features motion code technology. Instead of a static 3digit security code, it uses a dynamic CVV that automatically changes every hour. This feature will cost you $20.
With a 90 days interest free period, interest-free instalment options and no foreign transaction fee this card has several positive features that you may benefit from. If you choose Skye and wish to apply today, here's what you'll need:
- Be a Permanent Australian resident
- Earn $25,000 + p.a.
- Clear credit file
- Australian driver's licence, Medicare card or Australian passport

Be very careful with this company, when you try to close the account they try and talk you in to staying. Once you insist they then put you on hold for ages then come back with a lame excuse saying they cant process the payment as they are having computer troubles. This is in the hope that if you give up and call again the next day they will have received increased interest.
Dodgy, beware !!!!!
We got a deal with 5 years interest free air con installation last summer & had to sign up to make the repayments with SkyeCard.
This company has to be one of the worst that I have dealt with, they are constantly placing late payment fees on our account, even when it clearly shows in the dashboard that we made payments on time. Random 'one off' fees that you are forced to pay without knowing what they are, otherwise you will get a default fee, no response from customer service when trying to find out what the random fees are for. I organised ...for direct debit so the payments come out automatically, they confirmed it had gone through, however nothing was taken from our account on the payment date (or in the 3 days after), customer service don't respond to emails & phonecalls leave you on hold for ages with no real response. It took 3-4 weeks for paperwork to go through to add a third party to the account so myself & my husband can both contact them. Looking forward to paying off this debt, as this company truly sucks butt. Wish I could give them 0 stars & will be cancelling the card as soon as I can.

I applied the card got approval a few minutes after, the delivery guy brought our table bought from NickScali on a Friday (my partner had a leave day for this freaking delivery) and asked for full payment while we financed it through Skype. We had received the credit card and activated it but the store (in Preston Victoria) did not allow the delivery guy to leave our table at our place. I sent him the screenshot of my account with the credit balance approved. He called Skype and they claimed that yes we were approved but we withdrew later :))))...)))). They advise the store to let us know that we have to re-apply, by the time the delivery guy had left our place I called them to find out what the problem lied. the guy over the phone checked every detail pretty much anything about me for more than 6 mins, and then keep saying that there is no problem with my account, and the information provided to the store was wrong while it was from the same company... how ridiculous is that... I asked him to direct my call to his manager he did not and repeated same thing 5 times... I asked him to send an email to me and confirm everything he denied, told him what is your name so that I can mention it in my correspondence he denied, staff id denied...... So it sounded that I have to go by his word without having evidence which is acceptable to the store............. The worth credit services ; I have experience with gomastercard, zip pay and afterpay and this is one of its kind.
Be aware - you cannot transfer the balance to another card!!!
Basically the fact is - you cannot transfer the balance to another card! So if you intend buying something over a period of time using a couple of credit cards with 0% balance transfers, be aware that Skye Card to not allow balance transfers.
Repayment still pending on account after 3 days. Flawed repayment system!
Skye changed their system in Oct 2019 have tried to make repayments for 2 weeks and direct debit transaction was not actioned. Direct debit repayments setup via their online self-service was not working. Have made a repayment 3 days ago and my Skye account still states that my repayment is pending. Called Customer Services twice about issue have been told funds will clear in 2-3 days (it's odd taking into account banking system now can clear funds in 24 hours).
Have checked my bank account where the funds for the Skye repayment was paid from a...nd confirm funds have been cleared 3 days ago to Skye. My Skye account still states I have not made this repayment!!! Hope I will not be charged a late repayment fee and this will not affect my credit rating. Will not use Skye once all my repayments are made. Bad system!!!!
Unfair charges- no refund for unfair charges- still waiting for reply
Skye assured if I closed my account before a certain date, I wont be paying annualfee. After unfair charge , Fernando Cabilla reported unfair charge of $99 supervisor. Still awaiting refund
As of the 21st of June, Lombard (flexigroup) changed to skye, cancelled a lot of peoples credit cards.
If this has happened to you, contact AFCA Australian Financial Complaints Authority and lodge a formal complaint. This formal complaint will halt any phone calls and/or legal proceedings against you until investigated. They cancelled my card due to their restructure.
Promotion not honoured
I got this card for my trip to Hawaii. Fantastic, no issues.
I was offered a promotion of 5% refund for purchases up to $1000 a month for 3 months, I got the first months $50 rebate back but didnt get the next two months rebates after spending $1k a month. I have called so many timed I cant(each call around 15 minutes) remember possibly 10 to 15 times and emailed about the same. I actually got an email response saying I would get the remaining $100 rebate by 30 August, this was almost two months ago. I get told every time that the customer ser...
I took well over a week to get a replacement card. I had to email four times, each with different identifying information for compliance purposes. Every time I called the 24-hour line I record a voicemail saying I had called out of hours. Two weeks later and no closed to having my lost card replaced. I will be applying elsewhere before my international travel.
No International Transaction Fees
No International Transaction Fees makes this a good option but they have internal process/customer service issues that can be difficult to resolve. It should be straight forward to make repayments but there always seem to be hiccups.
I've had good dealings with these guys. It used to be Lombard but then became Skye. Has a good deal for Virgin Velocity Frequent Flyer points currently. Making repayments could be easier
Avoid this skye mastercard
Yes, good interest free days on offer. But the ongoing problems regarding repayment after that geez wheez, was charged dishonor fee. But the money was withdrawn from other bank account to make a repayment. Contacted their customer service was like talking to a brick wall or broken record, no resolution could be reached, when insisting there is nothing wrong with their system. SO AVOID AVOID AVOID like a plague.
Horrible and deceptive
This company tripped up several times while I was with them. My statements were incorrect, my interest was calculated incorrectly, I was charged late fees when I was not late with payments and then once I payed out my account they also tried to charge me a dishonour fee due to another mistake on their end. They also do not return calls like they say they will. You have to continually follow up with any issues and expect to be transferred to many different people to try and resolve anything.
DO NOT get finance through this company
Nothing quite like this on the market
Have had other credit cards before, and 90 days interest + payment free seems to be something that is unique to this product. Love the Motion Code technology too - still struggling to get my head around how they managed to pack a battery in there. Very clever indeed.
Had to switch onto this card and money was withdrawn twice on a different day of my direct debit. 3 customer service calls & supervisor advice, the issue has still not been resolved.
Was forced to move my card from Lombard to Skye recently. First impression - their web site is rubbish. Had to try 5 times to accept the offer without any luck due to the error on the their website. Then magically received email that my transfer is complete. Went to check the balance and got the error that my account is locked. Reset the password and tried again without any luck, same message - account is locked. Called them next day and customer service assured me that this all be fixed in 24 hours. Tried today and got different error: "Sorry,...your account is not eligible for Skye Mastercard". Tried "standard business hours link" and got the "Page not found", Ooops message. All attached. Also sent them email with questions - no reply whatsoever. So thinking of paying out and closing down the account as I have serious privacy concerns based on what I see.
A great alternative to a regular credit card
I signed up for the Skye card when my hot water service needed to be replaced urgently, and I needed access to interest free. It was very easy to approved over the phone. There are plenty of interest free offers that are available, or you can convert any purchase over $250 into an interest free payment plan by paying a small set up fee. I find this feature so appealing, you can spread payments over up to 15 months with a 5% set up cost or chooses smaller plans if desired. The other thing I love is that there are no fees for international transactions. There is an easy to use app so you can do everything you need on your phone, but the call centre is also super helpful if needed.
Questions & Answers
Is it true that skye do not accept balance transfers to other cards. Recently tried to get another card provider to balance transfer the outstanding balance and it failed because Skye will not allow it. The T&Cs say, 'You may make repayments to us in the manner we
specify from time to time' Can you clarify what you current specify please
