So far I am unhappy with SMB service. They should know that there is a holiday (Easter) during the process. I made 3 phone calls before Easter and asking when will my car arrive to Darwin from Melbourne and they said it would the there on 06/04 in the first call and then the end of 6th week and then 12/04 and today 06/04, they said it would arrive at the end of next week (16/04). The reason for these delay is because of Easter holiday!!! I have read all the review from the top and feel like they did this with more than 70% customers here. I will wait until my car come to officially write a review about thier servicw as one of the big issues here with them is they damaged customer car (I hope it will not happen to me but ...)
how hard is it to track where my car is I'm not cranky just can't figer out your tracking system HELP please
Honestly Anthony, I have transported many cars with SMB, and I never needed to track my cars because it didn't make any difference in terms if delivery time. SMB is slow but cheap, they also transport non-running cars. Their estimated time is always correct if they said 4 weeks it will be 4 weeks knowing that the car still in depot or transit isn't important for me.
If you need urgent transport they are not your best option.

I would not use them again. My car was two weeks late, with no communication from them whatsoever. My hat was also stolen from my car, with them not caring one iota

Just wanting to know where my Ute is? I’ve worked hard to pay for this Ute and I’ve trusted you’s with it. I mean I’m a business owner to and I don’t get paid my money until the job is done and in the required time. But you’s have been paid in full and i don’t know where it is the tracking app is useless people keep giving me info that don’t make sense I mean why take my business if you can’t for fill your obligation’s and then send me a email to give feedback before I even get my Ute back. Who do I make a complaint to about the company called moving car s its been 4 weeks n they today told me it will take 10 to 12 business days to drop my car I don't think they will even deliver it

I had the same problem. They don't care at all.
They promised to deliver in 10 business days. The car was delivered almost a month after it was dropped off.
I couldn't do anything as well. Just kept calling to them...
Sit down and wait cause your car will be in their depot for a month before they even load the truck with it....

I currently have a classic vehicle booked with SMB to travel from Sydney to Darwin.

Upon reading the reviews on “Damage” to vehicles I have Some concerns, specifically as the transfer is via Adelaide. The value on my particular vehicle is the original condition of the car. Any potential repairs required to the original condition will de value the vehicle considerably.
If you do not believe you can take ownership of the integrity of the quality of service and an undertaking of no damage to the vehicle I will take the opportunity to look for an alternative carrier.
If you do not reply to my request I will take it that you accept responsibility to deliver my vehicle in as received condition.

Please note that we have only open car carriers that transport our vehicles. Your vehicle will be transported from Sydney -> Adelaide and then Adelaide-> Darwin on an open car carrier.
Our transport insurance does not cover vehicles that are 20 years or older.
Your vehicle is currently in our Seven Hills depot in Sydney if wish to choose another carrier.
I can send you through the consignment note/ terms and conditions/ images of the vehicle that where completed when the vehicle entered into our care in our Sydney Depot - please send through your email address so I can send.

How long will it take to bring my car from Melbourne to Darwin? Would like to hear Minimum and Maximum days(Range of days).
Our transit times do vary depending on such factors like, freight capacity, road/route closures, vehicle weight/heights etc. Each booking is different.
Our current approximate transit times for a running small sedan is 15-20 working days.

is the car insured during the transport?
Hi Aza23, The car is insured to the market value for any transport damage occurred. There is an excess of $800.00 on any claim as per our insurer.
