Do your research and do NOT use these guys!!!
I never write reviews... but these guys left me no choice. I transported a car and I honestly wish I did more research. They have no regard for your property and then have no regard for your time when you need to work with them to resolve issues. I picked up my car from their Sydney depot and reported damage. I have been struggling now for over two months to simply get a call back. As per a previous review.. they are never available. Even the day of collection and highlighting the damage the lady was immediately irritated and gave me an email address I should work through.
Rude, Lying staff!! Never again!!
Useless!!! I booked through Truckit online. Received confirmation from them but never confirmation from SMB. I called them to check that the Depot was open for dropoff (which they confirmed) a family member and his wife drove the car to the depot to find it closed. One guy tells us it was due to covid, the next tells us the business was a crime scene due to break in. Someone is spinning a yarn. Rude staff on the phone. No attempt to fix the issue nor understand that we had two people take the day off work to drive to the depot which I had confirmed was definitely open!! never again!!

While reporting a damage, at least be human..
I sent a car from Alice Springs, it was my brand new Toyota Camry.
There was not even a scratch when I sent.
But when they deliver, huge broken plates on the bottom of car. Massive hit happened during transportation.
I reported it , following are the response.. but not at all acceptable service.
“ From our standard vehicle receiving procedures we are only required to complete vehicle surveys from approx. 1m away from the vehicle, SMB does not complete a survey of the underside of the vehicles. Our drivers stand up and complete the surve...
Read morey from this distance of 1 metre noting what they can see as potential transit damage. SMB is not liable to mark every single damage on second hand vehicles and SMB is not liable to mark up this kind of pre-existing damage on the initial survey. This damage would have been missed on the initial survey due to the angle/positioning that the survey took place. Please note: From our standard vehicle receiving procedures we are only required to complete vehicle surveys from approx. 1m away from the vehicle. SMB is not liable for any pre-existing undercarriage/underside damage as the vehicles are only driven on and off the trailers. If light scratches and marks are not seen from this distance of 1 metre they can then be missed in the survey. If the vehicle is parked in a tight or dark place or a dirty/wet vehicle on collection SMB will not be held liable for any pre-existing marks not seen in these conditions. Poor communication- glad I didn’t use them!
I contacted the company for a quote and received an email which seemed a bit suspect as it had no official company signature or other formal sign off. I felt a little better after calling and speaking to them in person. I booked online and (luckily, in hindsight) was not charged at the time. I received no confirmation email or formal correspondence confirming the reservation. After reading other reviews I decided to go with another company, and I’m glad I did. After failing to drop off the car as per the reservation there was no follow up correspondence. I’m glad I didn’t pay as the level of service was poor and I felt nervous engaging with the company
Thank you for your honest review although I am unsure as to what is it about as we did not actually move your vehicle..
All the best for your future.
You are correct I didn’t end up using the service. I had booked to move my car with your company, but with unprofessional looking emails when getting quotes and then no communication to confirm my boo...

Delivered without damage and personal belongings still in place.
Transported my vehicle from Perth to Sydney with personal belongings in the back. Vehicle and personal belongings arrived safe and sound. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Transit time was on the longer side of what was quoted, but I was told all carriers were busy clearing backlogs from recent highway closures.

most unprofessional place!
Took double the time i was advised. No one replied to emails etc. When they did answer the phone they advised the truck had broken down causing the delay in Adelaide when it hadn’t even left Melbourne!!! Finally got onto Richard (manager) who was great. Always returned calls etc if it wasn’t for him I would of been taking this further. $1675 and a long bloody time. Car finally arrived much to my suprise..
thank god this is over but please if you read this, choose another company. I have never received such poor service.

It is terrible
It is a terrible mistake to choose SMB based on the reviews here. SMB gave me the highest quote and I thought it would be because of their high quality service. Pickup was on 19/2, promised to be 10-15 business days for delivery. After 20 days, promised again to deliver on 12/3. A few days later another logistic company contacted and said they received the car on 15/3 and will deliver it on 27/3 on behalf of SMB, it is still an estimate. I already paid their invoice after they kept sending me the payment request without letting me know the tra...
Read morensfer progress. Now I have to pay for taxis/buses everyday. I would suggest to use another company with lower quote, it may take as long as this, but you can can spend the difference in price to hire a car while waiting.Delay after Delay
Horrible service, as I write this my car has still not left the drop of Depot in Melbourne.
I’ve now been without a car for 2 weeks.
I was promised it would leave Melbourne on Wednesday 13th February, and again on Monday the 18th of February. It’s now Tuesday 20th of February and it is still sitting at the depot in Melbourne.
There is no communication from SMB to apologise for the delay, instead I am left having to chase it up. With such exorbitant fees for transport I would come to expect a much better service from this joke of a business.
Questions & Answers
So far I am unhappy with SMB service. They should know that there is a holiday (Easter) during the process. I made 3 phone calls before Easter and asking when will my car arrive to Darwin from Melbourne and they said it would the there on 06/04 in the first call and then the end of 6th week and then 12/04 and today 06/04, they said it would arrive at the end of next week (16/04). The reason for these delay is because of Easter holiday!!! I have read all the review from the top and feel like they did this with more than 70% customers here. I will wait until my car come to officially write a review about thier servicw as one of the big issues here with them is they damaged customer car (I hope it will not happen to me but ...)
how hard is it to track where my car is I'm not cranky just can't figer out your tracking system HELP please
Honestly Anthony, I have transported many cars with SMB, and I never needed to track my cars because it didn't make any difference in terms if delivery time. SMB is slow but cheap, they also transport...
Read more non-running cars. Their estimated time is always correct if they said 4 weeks it will be 4 weeks knowing that the car still in depot or transit isn't important for me. If you need urgent transport they are not your best option. I hope this helps Thanksthanks for that just a little to keen to get it i guess
