My rare classic vehicle was collected in Geelong ( from sub contractor- Geelong car carriers) who were amazing. They were on time, patience and took great care in the loading process. Donna in the Sydney office is pleasure to deal with and a credit to SMB.
On the other hand once the vehicle arrived in Sydney, I had to chase up the whereabouts of its location and an ETA of its so called door delivery contrary to the email advising a SMB manager was going to call me the night before .

Disgraceful customer service when issue identified
To book my vehicle in with this company to have it transported from Melbourne to Woodburn NSW was very easy and quick. Let me assure you that this is where the prompt service stopped. It took the full 10 working days to have it transported to me (the longest they say they can leave it) then after it was delivered I identified a dent that had been caused to my brand new vehicle in delivery. Since identifying this issue in the manner I was told to, all I have received since, is an email back with a long list of excuses and a big fat we are not ab...le to assist you any further in your issue. Goodbye. I've made numerous attempts in trying to contact the company but to no avail. Nobody wants to return calls or talk to me. Very annoyed. Never to be recommended to anyone.
Very poor customer service
I have recently had my car transported with SMB from Adelaide, South Australia to Darwin, Northern Territory. My car arrived at the SMB yard on Thursday 26 May, 2016. It has almost been 3 weeks and I have only just received my car. The first incident I understood – there was no room left on the truck and other were in before me, however the second incident when the truck my car was supposed to be on broke down – I was not notified about this incident or notified that there would be a delay in arrival for my car (promised date was Thursday 9 Jun...e, 2016). I was only made aware that it would be almost 1 week late after calling [name removed] and being told this. – This is very poor customer service. Now that I have finally received my car there are scratches on the passenger door. These scratches were not on the passenger door before travel – as I had a mechanic check over it. I would like to think that my car was insured to travel with your company from Adelaide to Darwin and that SMB will be fixing the damage caused to my car through transport. I would also like to think that SMB will be compensating for some of the extra time it took for me to receive my car as I was never notified until I called the company.

SMB are dishonest, nasty and do not do the job. I paid to have my car transported with them and when I delivered the vehicle was met with aggression. I would have liked to change companies at this time but could not due to flying out the next day and no refund policy. The service then got worse, receiving incorrect information about when it would arrive which has impacted my work. It has now been over three weeks, I still don't have a car, and they can't even tell me when its coming. I will be making a formal complaint.
Do Not Use This Company
We purchased our car through a Toyota dealer in Melbourne and had it transported to WA. The dealer recommended SMB transport. The 11-month-old car turned up with a broken window visor & four scratches to the paint work. The depot manager offered to leave keys on the rear tyre so that we could pick up the vehicle after hours. Very professional! They have been impossible to get in touch with after numerous phone calls and emails. They have no paperwork on the condition of the car before leaving Melbourne and did not inspect the car on arrival. Do not use this company!
What ever you do, don't use the company
Got a call back in regards to my quote, Darwin to Sydney was told will be there in 20 days, drop the car off on 25 Jan called SMB was told the car is leaving Darwin on 3 Feb and should be in Sydney by 12 Feb, called again on 8 Feb was told the car will be there on the 19 Feb. This time my daughter call who the car is going to. Today 18 Feb and was told might be there on the 23 Feb. I call the SBM was in turn told that car is still in Darwin, got into my car driven down to the yard and guess what my daughter car is still sitting here in Darwin, ...what is going on? If the car was not loaded on the top ready to leave I would taken my daughter back and start again with a other company. If you told me that the car will not be leaving Darwin until today I would have drop it off on Monday 15 Feb, not let it sit there until now. I was told by the driver who will call [name removed] the owner in regards to this matter!!! What I have read in this reviews not much has change.

Wish I Had Read Reviews Prior To Booking **AVOID**
I had my brand new Porsche transported from Sydney to QLD.
The car arrived extremely dirty inside and out! On arrival my tires all had scuff marks and the rear right hand side rim was badly scratched. Mind you, we are talking about a brand new and a very expensive vehicle. I immediately wrote an email, to which I finally received a reply from [name removed] (who I am guessing is the manager). [name removed] basically stated SMB Transport was not responsible for the damage. I am extremely furious at the response and the fact that this company...accepts no responsibility whatsoever of the damage. I will pursue this matter further to make sure I am compensated. But for anyone looking to transport their cars, please do not use this company. I have had experiences with Patrick AutoCare and CEVA, and I would highly recommend these company. It is not worth saving few hundred dollars to risk damage to you vehicle by these incompetent people.
STAY WELL CLEAR OF SMB TRANSPORT
It took over a month to get my car after i was promised 5 - 10 working days. they keep giving me excuses, they lie, there very unprofessional, and definitely i don't recommend them. they definitely don't treat there customers like family, as there web site says, and if they do treat there family like they treat there customers, well then that doesn't say much for what they think of there family.

I used this transportation service ( i use the word service lightly) to transport my 4 month old car from darwin to melbourne. It didnt even leave Darwin for almost a month even although i was given an ETA of less than a week. I was also give 2 other ETAs before it was eventually received. Needless to say my car rental bills were almost 3 grand by the time I received my car. The car arrived with 2 scuffed alloys and 2 dents on the boot. It is now 6 months later and i have e mailed and called and nothing....last attempt 2 days ago and i was informed that Andrew...the incompetent manager would call me. Still waiting like every other time i have heard that. I advise everyone to stay clear

Purchased an immaculate used vehicle in Brisbane, the car yard used this company to ship it down to victoria as part of the sale. Three weeks later i still haven't received the vehicle but have been told it is now damaged by hail while in their possession and their insurance dosen't cover hail..! At no stage was i sent a copy of their terms or conditions and now that its damaged they no longer will take my phone calls or get back to me to arrange any kind of resolution. They have said they take no responsibility for the damage even though the v...ehicle is still in their possession and will be delivered shortly. Never have i come across a more unprofessional, disrespectful organisation ever! If you value your belongings steer clear of these people like the plague..!
Aerial snapped and bonnet dented. responsibility denied??????
SMB car transport claim the aerial may have fallen off due to general wear and tear and road vibration. How come the aerial opened the car door and hopped inside the car after falling off? Said dents in bonnet may have been there already and because it was wet they may have missed seeing them at the initial inspection.
Company denied responsibility and ignored NSW Fair Trading correspondence who advised me to take them to court. As I live in WA it is uneconomical for me to fly to NSW for a court appearance.
Shifty business practice avoids responsibility aided by tyranny of distance.
Also took 10 days longer than advised.

they told us it would be 2 weeks from SA - QLD.
Firstly they didn't bother to turn up the to collect the car so we waited all day, they said the driver simply ran out of time (didn't bother to call us) then we waited all the next day (they then said they got the day wrong and it was the following day).
4 weeks later and they have said the car is still in melbourne and could be months before we get it, was he their hands over the situation and even hang up on us.
Trying to figure out what to do….

We hired SMB Car Transport to pick up a car that was purchased from Nth Victoria and deliver it to Wyoming NSW. and paid in advance. It was supposed to be delivered within 4 days. One week later I called their office to see the whereabouts of the car to be told it was in Sydney, i expected it to be here within a day or so. After another 4 days I received a call from the truck driver who said he had "lost the roof off the car somewhere down the highway", he said “it’s only for parts anyway isn’t it , so it doesn’t matter.”

how hard is it to track where my car is I'm not cranky just can't figer out your tracking system HELP please
Honestly Anthony, I have transported many cars with SMB, and I never needed to track my cars because it didn't make any difference in terms if delivery time. SMB is slow but cheap, they also transport non-running cars. Their estimated time is always correct if they said 4 weeks it will be 4 weeks knowing that the car still in depot or transit isn't important for me.
If you need urgent transport they are not your best option.

I would not use them again. My car was two weeks late, with no communication from them whatsoever. My hat was also stolen from my car, with them not caring one iota
