Good service .
This is the second time I deal with SMB . First they get me my car from New Castle to Sydney and the second time from an auction in QLD , it arrives on time as scheduled .
37 days to transport Melb - North Coast NSW
SMB may be competitive on price, but it seems you get what you pay for. It took them 37 days to deliver a car from Melbourne metro to northern NSW. And that is a from a Melbourne car dealership. No information was ever provided by the carrier, I had to call every few days to find out what was going on. The car literally sat at their Sydney depot for 2 weeks going nowhere. I was told that the car was out for delivery 3 times and obtained the necessary Unregistered Vehicle Permits and booked in a Blue slip inspections etc, only to have them not s...how up. No phone call to say don't come. 37 days is possibly the worst delivery time possible. When asking SMB to try and explain what went wrong, rather than simply say "I agree, that is pretty bad", they chose to get defensive. First it was a truck breakdown, then driver hour limits, then blah blah. I don't think any level of excuses can cover for a 4 week delay in delivery.
Transported a trailer for me within the Perth area. Unfortunately the business is full of incompetent people. Trailer was damaged and once they finally admitted the damage i was told i would be contacted by the insurance department. No contact and it has been months now of me calling, sending quotes etc but they just ignore the calls and emails. If using this company be prepared for your stuff to be ruined.
Damage not covered at all
Transported a brand new range rover, noticed the interior console has significant scratching and interior (front/back seats) all dirty as if someone sat it in.
Called on day or arrival, and each day for 1 full week - support staff somehow always at lunch.
[Name Removed] in support is unhelpful and deceitful. Implying interior damage is somehow not covered...she notes a T&C relating to personal property and affects as to way the interior is the same, its clearly not.
No help and careless.
Terrible customer service also, no tracking on the car at all just guess work.
Not worth rating
10 emails and still no car. Did it go by sea, rail or road. Who knows…probably got Covid and got hospitalised. Don’t try the 1300 as it doesn’t even go to voice mail or maybe hasn’t been cleared from year dot
Dependable, Reliable Transport Company.
I have used SMB for transporting various vehicles for over 13 years all over Australia, nothing more than professional outstanding customer service. That's why I don't trust anyone else, they are always accommodating! Anyone whom requires a recommendation on transporting vehicles anywhere in Australia, I never hesitate in recommending SMB.

Cars have always been delivered on time in good condition. Guys at all yards have been helpful and cheerful to work with. Everyone that I've spoken too at SMB has been pleasant and helpful. more than happy to recommend SMB for your transport needs.
Great service & price
The quote was cheaper than others I received. Staff were always friendly when I rang and didn't mind me ringing to check progress of our van. Took a bit longer than expected but the van arrived in great condition.
Delivered as promised
Quote was considerably cheaper than another one I received! Car was quickly picked up and arrived to the depot much earlier than anticipated… slight criticism, when I called to confirm its arrival I was told it would be delivered ahead of time however this wasn’t the case (was excited to receive) but it did arrive as scheduled. All staff were friendly and professional and highly recommend.
The service was exceptional and the value for money was on point. The cars arrived on time and were all intact from Sydney to Brisbane. I highly recommend SMB Australia.
These companies need to be avoided at all costs
I booked through CAR TRANSPORT EXPRESS, paid the money they wanted, then two days after, CAR TRANSPORT EXPRESS asked for more cash!!!! said they under charged me, so i paid more which i was not happy about. A week after this i received an email saying SMB was taking over. I did not realise that CAR TRANSPORT EXPRESS use SMB Australia. The car was shipped from Victoria to Perth , when you email both these company's about the progress and ETA the emails from both SMB AND CAR TRANSPORT EXPRESS are lies there was no truth to any of the emails i sta...rted to wonder if my car was really going to get here. Received the car but it wasnt on time at all. Car was not damaged and was a bit dusty but that was to be expected. Would I recommend these companies no!!!! Charged to much staff are rude emails are lies and car was late
No hassles with SMB
I was the sender and receiver with my landcruiser being sent from Adelaide.
I mean they didn't give me a bunch of roses, but all personnel acquitted themselves professionally and properly.
Professional and friendly service
My car delivered to WA in super quick time.
It arrived in perfect condition and when I went to collect it I was greeted by a friendly staff member. Great to be reunited with my Mini.
We decided to gift our son in Sydney with a car. (My wife bought a new car and we had her much loved Jazz left over). SMB arranged the transport of the car from Adelaide to Sydney and all went really smoothly and so my son is now driving his Jazz in his new home town. Very happy with the service and delivery.

Questions & Answers
So far I am unhappy with SMB service. They should know that there is a holiday (Easter) during the process. I made 3 phone calls before Easter and asking when will my car arrive to Darwin from Melbourne and they said it would the there on 06/04 in the first call and then the end of 6th week and then 12/04 and today 06/04, they said it would arrive at the end of next week (16/04). The reason for these delay is because of Easter holiday!!! I have read all the review from the top and feel like they did this with more than 70% customers here. I will wait until my car come to officially write a review about thier servicw as one of the big issues here with them is they damaged customer car (I hope it will not happen to me but ...)
how hard is it to track where my car is I'm not cranky just can't figer out your tracking system HELP please
Honestly Anthony, I have transported many cars with SMB, and I never needed to track my cars because it didn't make any difference in terms if delivery time. SMB is slow but cheap, they also transport non-running cars. Their estimated time is always correct if they said 4 weeks it will be 4 weeks knowing that the car still in depot or transit isn't important for me.
If you need urgent transport they are not your best option.

Car transport from Tasmania to Darwin?
I would not use them again. My car was two weeks late, with no communication from them whatsoever. My hat was also stolen from my car, with them not caring one iota
