I hade four levels In my car when I received the car in nsw there was not a single level I forgot to ask you on time I asked the sender he said it was in the car, where’s my levels?
Poor comms and big delays
Poor communication and significant delays in with zero explanation. No online tracking despite this being 2020. Run like a transport shop from the 80’s with endless excuses. Get with the program guys!

Do not use smb seven hills
Dropped my vehicle at the seven hills nsw depot sending to WA.What they tell you on the phone and in person isnt what happens. Do not rely on there estimated timeline it isn't reliable at all. Communication skills are poor.

I negotiated w National Car Transport to move my car. I specifically asked that SMB be not used.
Was prepated to pay ectra w any other company.
Chose the "fastest option" and then had car sit in melbourne depot for 3 wks. Could not get straight answer from either company on where it was.
As i live on a station and we are locked in. I tried to explain i needed notice to not only get to drop off town but off property.
Sitting here waiting for 'driver' to contact me. Where when how.
Never use them again.!!!!! Urghh.

Disappointing Service - Late Delivery and belongings missing
We sent our car with some belongings from Perth to Darwin on 9 April 2020. Due to Covid 19, I was concerned that the transport would be delayed, but I was assured by the person I spoke to on the phone that things were happening as normal. Unfortunately my car and belongings were only delivered on 16 May 2020. I followed up a number of times re the expected arrival date and was assured that the car would be delivered on time. I followed up a number of times after the car was not delivered on time, via email and by phone. The email was never answ...ered and I was promised delivery times over the phone that was never adhered to. I was never contacted by the company during this time to update me on progress. To add insult to injury my Akubra hat was stolen out of my car. Upon inquiry I was referred to their policy of $800 excess payment and that they did not have an inventory of my belongings that was packed in the car. No attempt to investigate the matter at all. In my view it would be pretty easy to identify the person who took the hat as they should have details of who accessed the vehicle. Very disappointing turn of events. It would seem that to send belongings in the car is a free for all, with the company not taking any responsibility for anything packed in the car
Never rely on the timeframe they give you....
1) Took more than a month to have the car at the city of destination
2) they dent the paintwork of the door, probably driver hit the door against the truck....
Haven't even gotten my car yet
Got a car i bought sent through this company Melbourne to darwin got dropped off on the 16th july was told 15 working days when dropped off. Now i had just sent my old car to Melbourne from darwin through prix car which mind you only cost $800 and SMB id charging $1900 with goods for the same route but opposite direction and it arrived in only 5 working days so the next week i decided to call and ask for a rough eta and was then told 20 working days. So this week been called again and was told 15-16 working days but was then told it would be here next Wednesday which is 23 working days.... how does it take 5 days to go one way and 23 to go the other?
Terrible service - communication poor, once they have your money not interested.
The initial contact was from a company called Trade Car Transport who received the payment. The car was picked up from Sydney 4 days later. 17 days later I sent off an email as I had heard nothing. The company does not insure transportation so this was a concern. I received a response 18 days after payment from a company called SMB Australia to say the truck had mechanical problems so delivery would be delayed. As I was flying out of Perth on the 18th - 20 days after payment - I made an additional payment so the car could be delivered to a fri...ends house. This was because I had been told I would have to pay storage if it couldn't be picked up. 25 days after initial payment the car arrived but I was told the car could not be delivered because my additional payment 5 days previously had not been received even though I sent through a receipt number and paid money into the account on the invoice. Eventually the payment was found and the car was delivered. The people in Sydney were ignorant, rude with a couldn't care less attitude. The people in Perth were completely different and good to deal with. Having said that, I would never transport a car with either company again. The car sat in a car yard for weeks on end before it was transported and there is no insurance, hence no one cares what happens to your motor vehicle.
Takes too long and no contact
7 days so far from Syd to Melb and still haven’t received my car. No one has contacted me and I’ve had to follow up multiple times to find out what’s going on. SMB still can’t give me a date as the truck driver is apparently away. Meanwhile I’m paying rental fees whilst I wait.
Not worth the damage caused.
I had a car shipped with SMB auto transport a couple months ago. I wanted to wait until the smoke settled before writing a review. First, was the time. It took 3 weeks to ship from Sydney to Alice Springs, Australia which was a week longer than quoted originally, so that's one negative. More importantly, my front lip was pulled off the car. The nuts holding it in place were stripped. This also caused massive damage to the paint on the lip and front bumper. Although customer service was friendly, there was really no help from them on any part of the process. They never knew where my car was and refused to help fix the damage to the car. The price wasn't bad. It wasn't the cheapest and wasn't the most expensive.
Car not delivered as promised. Still waiting for delivery it has been 12 days.
Yes. But could never find out where my car was. Never again would i use this company. I lost business due to car not being delivered as promised.
Do not use this company too transport anything . My husband still waiting for his vehicle since 2nd September to be sent to Darwin from Melbourne . It did not leave Melbourne 2 weeks after we left it with them because they were waiting for a truck, no communication too let us know we have too ring them to find out what's happening . Vehicle is suppose to be in Darwin this Friday 30th September, today my husband rings too get updates & now they say it will not be there till next Wednesday because truck has broken down in Alice springs again no communication too let us know what happened as my husband rang them today . Never again !!

So far I am unhappy with SMB service. They should know that there is a holiday (Easter) during the process. I made 3 phone calls before Easter and asking when will my car arrive to Darwin from Melbourne and they said it would the there on 06/04 in the first call and then the end of 6th week and then 12/04 and today 06/04, they said it would arrive at the end of next week (16/04). The reason for these delay is because of Easter holiday!!! I have read all the review from the top and feel like they did this with more than 70% customers here. I will wait until my car come to officially write a review about thier servicw as one of the big issues here with them is they damaged customer car (I hope it will not happen to me but ...)
how hard is it to track where my car is I'm not cranky just can't figer out your tracking system HELP please
Honestly Anthony, I have transported many cars with SMB, and I never needed to track my cars because it didn't make any difference in terms if delivery time. SMB is slow but cheap, they also transport...non-running cars. Their estimated time is always correct if they said 4 weeks it will be 4 weeks knowing that the car still in depot or transit isn't important for me. If you need urgent transport they are not your best option. I hope this helps Thanks

I would not use them again. My car was two weeks late, with no communication from them whatsoever. My hat was also stolen from my car, with them not caring one iota
