1967 HR Holden arrives in perfect condition.
I entrusted SMB with my $45k 1967 HR Holden from WA to SA, arrived in perfect condition. Guys at Adelaide depot were so good. They have a passion for old cars and even helped me load it on the car trailer. Thanks SMB.

Lost car, left windows down filled with water, could not provide any paper work, won't contact me
Had my car transported by SMB, it is the worst experience I have ever had with a transport company. The car got lost going from Melbourne to Brisbane I was told it was in Sydney then a week later found out it was still in Melbourne. When it did get to Brisbane it couldn't get delivered due to trucks braking down so I was told if I pick it up I would get a refund for that part of the transport by SMB. This was false they lied and won't refund the trip from depo to my house. When I picked up the car I found the windows left down 5cm each side and...
Read more the car filled with 3cm of water threw it. I tested the windows they work fine and go up and down. Also the car had tape put on it which ripped the paint off. No paper work was provided with the car, no pick up condition report nothing. I have emailed support@smbaustralia.com.au no response. If you call up they just tell you to email support@smbaustralia.com.au. Please don't ever use this company. Took 24 days to come up from Melbourne and would have been another 4 sitting out in the rain with the windows down if I had not have picked it up. Still waiting from them to contact me37 days to transport Melb - North Coast NSW
SMB may be competitive on price, but it seems you get what you pay for. It took them 37 days to deliver a car from Melbourne metro to northern NSW. And that is a from a Melbourne car dealership. No information was ever provided by the carrier, I had to call every few days to find out what was going on. The car literally sat at their Sydney depot for 2 weeks going nowhere. I was told that the car was out for delivery 3 times and obtained the necessary Unregistered Vehicle Permits and booked in a Blue slip inspections etc, only to have them not s...
Read morehow up. No phone call to say don't come. 37 days is possibly the worst delivery time possible. When asking SMB to try and explain what went wrong, rather than simply say "I agree, that is pretty bad", they chose to get defensive. First it was a truck breakdown, then driver hour limits, then blah blah. I don't think any level of excuses can cover for a 4 week delay in delivery.Find out how SMB Australia Car Transport compares to other Couriers

Damage not covered at all
Transported a brand new range rover, noticed the interior console has significant scratching and interior (front/back seats) all dirty as if someone sat it in.
Called on day or arrival, and each day for 1 full week - support staff somehow always at lunch.
[Name Removed] in support is unhelpful and deceitful. Implying interior damage is somehow not covered...she notes a T&C relating to personal property and affects as to way the interior is the same, its clearly not.
No help and careless.
Terrible customer service also, no tracking on the car at all just guess work.
Stay away.

These companies need to be avoided at all costs
I booked through CAR TRANSPORT EXPRESS, paid the money they wanted, then two days after, CAR TRANSPORT EXPRESS asked for more cash!!!! said they under charged me, so i paid more which i was not happy about. A week after this i received an email saying SMB was taking over. I did not realise that CAR TRANSPORT EXPRESS use SMB Australia. The car was shipped from Victoria to Perth , when you email both these company's about the progress and ETA the emails from both SMB AND CAR TRANSPORT EXPRESS are lies there was no truth to any of the emails i sta...

Terrible service and car covered in tape and residue - needed detailing as a result. Disgusted.
As other reviews state, customer service is DISGUSTING here. I took my car to the Melbourne depot. The truck driver was working alone and there was no one in the office. He said he was filling in. I tried to pay him, and he said to pay on the other end in Darwin as he doesn’t know how. Then, after a whole month (yep, a month) my car arrives in Darwin. However, I was told to transfer before I can pick up - after it had arrived. I told this to [Name Removed] via email, she then proceeded to say this hadn’t happened and called me a liar. I’m absol...
Read moreutely shocked to say the least. NEVER, ever choose SMB. They’re the cheapest for a reason. Disgusting. EDIT: Be careful, they will damage your car paint! Car was picked up and found to be covered in duct tape, sitting in the sun. This company have zero care in the world for your vehicle. I left a 50K 4 month old car in their care and got it back covered in sticky tape residue, including caked over the paint work and the $1K window tint. It cost me $150 to get the car detailed externally to remove the melted tape residue covering the entire car. DO NOT USE SMB - they have NO CARE AT ALL for your car. Again, read the google reviews, they tell an accurate story about this company. I will tell a soul itself anyone who will listen, for the rest of my life, DO NOT use this negligent company.Vehicle arrived weeks later and damaged.
I chose to go with this company to transport my vehicle from Brisbane to Perth as it had the best price and fastest delivery as per quote. 17 business days was the quote I received on the 30th of November. My car was then available 49 days later with a damaged tail light and missing aerial. I was given multiple false days of arrival which I had booked time off work to collect. My cost of the transport has added another $1000 for the parts I will now have to replace. In trying to justify these damages I’ve sent multiple emails & calls & no one seems to care or reply. I will never be using this business again & recommend anyone one of thinking to use them to read the countless reviews.

Hassle free. We've used them twice
Both times have been significantly cheaper than alternatives. Did arrive a couple of weeks later than the promised ETA. Vehicles have arrived in good condition, pickup and drop off were hassle free.

My vehicle was damaged. Rude and unorganised!!
There are not very good processes to keep track of clients vehicles and possessions, or their associated delivery timelines. Communication is also severely lacking. I had to contact numerous people to find out when my vehicle was going to be delivered, all individuals were extremely rude and unhelpful. P & S paid their subcontractor SMB (contrary to other correspondence received) for the delivery of a vehicle that hadn’t even been delivered. In the original email and quote I was told the ETA was 16 working days and after booking and finalising...
Read more payment I was told 20 working days. After my car had finally arrived after 31 working days (6 weeks) I came to find dents and marks in the roof (where the straps must have been placed) and my antenna missing. Would I recommend P&S Logistics or SMB Car Transport? Absolutely not. To pay so much for a service to have my vehicle damaged, awful communication, rude service and an unrealistic (and extremely late) delivery time is absolutely disappointing to say the least.BAD SERVICE AND UNRELIABLE
We purchased a new van which was modified for use with a wheelchair and the supplier sent our finished van from Adelaide to Orange NSW with SMB. The delivery was very time critical as we needed the vehicle to travel and we can't just hire another car. The Adelaide depot was told that the vehicle had to be delivered within the 7 day time frame they advertise but the vehicle didn't arrive until a week later than promised.
I had to phone the head office everyday to chase up what was happening with the vehicle and was told they would ring me with u...

Avoid!
I used these guys to transport my car from WA to NSW and they bent the control rod on my car where it had been strapped down on the truck. It was a very scary drive from Sydney to the Sunshine Coast (after a wheel 'specialist' also missed this crucial default). They also said it would take 2-3 weeks for my car to arrive but it actually took just under 5 weeks. There was no communication, I was constantly having to chase them up for information. I chose these guys because they were cheap but it was futile because I had to pay to get my car fixed. When I tried to contact them to get some compensation they wouldn't return calls or emails. I will never use them again and warn all my friends and family against using them.

Great to deal with
Had our Isuzu Dmax shipped from Townsville to Port Hedland. These guys were great to deal with, we were even able to load some personal processions in the car. It did take 7 weeks but know others who have waited 6 weeks from Brisbane. All transport seems to be taking longer with COVID restrictions.

Communication was disgraceful
Communication was crap, and car was late didn’t even know about it till I rang up to ask where it was lol, never again! I’ll be definitely transporting with someone else next time and I suggest the same for everyone else. Peace out

Questions & Answers
So far I am unhappy with SMB service. They should know that there is a holiday (Easter) during the process. I made 3 phone calls before Easter and asking when will my car arrive to Darwin from Melbourne and they said it would the there on 06/04 in the first call and then the end of 6th week and then 12/04 and today 06/04, they said it would arrive at the end of next week (16/04). The reason for these delay is because of Easter holiday!!! I have read all the review from the top and feel like they did this with more than 70% customers here. I will wait until my car come to officially write a review about thier servicw as one of the big issues here with them is they damaged customer car (I hope it will not happen to me but ...)
how hard is it to track where my car is I'm not cranky just can't figer out your tracking system HELP please
Honestly Anthony, I have transported many cars with SMB, and I never needed to track my cars because it didn't make any difference in terms if delivery time. SMB is slow but cheap, they also transport...
Read more non-running cars. Their estimated time is always correct if they said 4 weeks it will be 4 weeks knowing that the car still in depot or transit isn't important for me. If you need urgent transport they are not your best option. I hope this helps Thanksthanks for that just a little to keen to get it i guess
