Too heavy on sales, Man at front desk was way to pushy for bank details.
The man at the front is extremely pushy. I already told him once that I did not want to put down any of my bank details, as I was still keeping my options open and wanted time to think about it as it is still a fair bit of money, and I wanted to research on other people's experiences. I had to repeat myself several times that I didn't want to hand of my bank details - and still he kept insisting. A customer shouldn't have to repeat themselves especially as it is just a consultation.
However Laura who did the actual scan was amazing, so nice ...and friendly and she understood straight away why I didn't want to give my details straight away. Smile Direct needs to work on their marketing - the automation of emails and text are a bit much. I have received 6 texts and 6 emails from them in the past few days. Coming from a marketing background the automation of all these messages actually makes it impersonal and seem like spam more than information. And you need to train your staff to be less cold cut sales and focus more on customers needs and journey.
Friendly, professional service
The staff in the Brisbane store were welcoming and professional all the way. They explained what to expect and the process was easy and painless. I am now looking forward to seeing the results.

The staff at the Smile Direct office in Brisbane are polite, friendly and warm. The appointment was for my thirteen year old daughter Heidi and they directed most of the session to her, which was nice for her. They also appeared to know their product very well and were very efficient in getting the required scans.

BEWARE - I've had a dreadful experience for 6 months with Smile Direct Club Aus
I signed up in May 2019. My Wk 3/4 aligners cracked. On the phone I was told that the 1st month aligners would be sent. It's now the middle of Nov & still nothing. I ring, I get promises, excuses. I have all the remaining aligners with me but am unable to start month 2. There was a lot of roughness when I did wear the aligners which you are supposed to file with a nail file but I still had many ulcers form on the edge of my tongue. Customer service has been pointless and dismissive. If I can't START this course I will be requesting a refund. I get text messages telling me to change to Month 4 Week 2 & payments being taken out and no sign whatsoever of Month 1's replacement.
Great Service, but gave me false hope
When i went to SmileDirect club, the people were very friendly and helpful. Aradia asked what I would like to get fixed and I told her the crowding of my bottom teeth. She told me they will 100% be straight in the next 5 months and gave me hope that it would actually work. 72 hours later when I received the treatment plan, it showed my upper arch being straightened, however no improvement on my bottom teeth. I was confused and emailed SmileDirect customer service as to why this is. Johanna V replied to me saying "...That is due to the fact tha...t your aligner therapy was approved for the upper arch only. This is the most amount of dental movement that can be achieved with Smile Direct Club's aligners..." I understand this but I am not happy that I cannot get what I wanted, I was given false hope from SmileDirect and would like to Cancel my plan.
Great energy, a bit heavy with the sales component
Great energy, lovely and enthusiastic dental assistance. Pain free and professional procedure. Sales component at the end was a bit forceful, diminished confidence in their dental abilities when they wanted a sale more than they wanted to help.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The scan process was very easy as well. I didn’t feel pressured to sign away or give any of my banking details at the visit. The operator kindly discussed payment options and gave me the contact number to call when I was ready. I felt she may of been new to the job as she was extremely (if not a little to) enthusiastic the whole time. I am keen to see what the orthodontist report shows. I had a lot of contact before the initial visit but day two after the visit and I have only had one system generated e...mail stating I will get a report within 3days. I am guarded as the whole process is new in Australia so I explained I will not provide credit card details until I have a report. Whether this is holding the whole process up or not I am not sure. I am excited to see if everything comes together as it is a great concept.
Sonia and Ali were very professional and helpful and were both able to answer all my questions. It made the experience really easy and would definitely recommend. Looking forward to receiving the aligners.
