Waiting over 4 months for a service and still nothing!
Bought a house with existing solahart water system. Running poorly since November 2021. Made many calls to the local franchisee for a service, but still no service. No local alternatives.

Unprofessional Rogues with Poor customer service
The worst lack of customer service ever... I originally contacted Solahart for information of my system that wasn't working properly, they advised the plumbers they used and after a month we needed a quote for Sewer connection also. I just happened to request a quote from the same plumbers for 2 different jobs no sooner to be invoiced by Solahart Mandurah. Despite asking if there was a callout fee for plumbing quotes (I was advised no). Amanda Brown has been rude & demanding that because I used the same plumbers they require payment, she is a rogue and wont be getting our business. I have contacted the CCC to report them

Stay away from Solahart Hoppers Crossing VIC
Cowboy contractors hired by company with no sense of Standard/compliance took few minutes to run AC cable between two dry wall and invoiced for unagreed $495 for pre wiring which is currently not approved by inspector as it’s not in metal conduit. Pricey outdated panels and terrible service makes Solahart least preferred provider for solar energy system.

Tanks rust out prematurely. Absolute crap tanks. Avoid
Tank is <10 years old. They say they should last 20 - 30 years. But only warranty for 5 years....because our is rusted out throughout already. Concept works brilliant, so find another brand. These are not up to standard.

Sunshine Coast Solahart - Incompetent or Fraudulent? Maybe both.
The salesperson was pretty smooth & showed me all the positive power graphs with the $ saving; however, make sure that the exact model number of inverter & panels are listed on the quote because you may get second-hand, much older & lesser quality products installed, as I did. On the first visit, my existing working solar system was disabled when a worker was injured & I was left with no solar power for 6 days until they returned and installed the system with a second-hand inverter. I was initially contacted and told that there was a couple of ...
Read moredents on the front panel & $100 was discounted off the price; however, I later found that the invertor had been previously installed in another person's name & had 2 rusty scratches across the front panel. Solarhart returned a third time to install another inverter which did not work at all. When I heard the van drive away, I immediately checked the system which was alarming with an error code. The inverter Techs in Sydney told me that the person who installed the inverter was obviously untrained and even worst the inverter was not the model that I had paid for. The Operations Manager tried convincing me that the older inverter was better than the later model. His tone changed when I wouldn't swallow the yarn & insinuated that I was a whinger & was responsible for the injured worker (he later vigorously denied that was not his intent). Weeks later, on the fourth visit, another inverter was installed and it worked, yippie. The inverter was still not the model that I paid for but there's no way that I want Solarhart back. I was promised some recompense for having no solar power for weeks & the stress of being stuffed around, but nay. In addition, I don't know what happened to the government grants (STCs) dollars that are always advertised. On at least 4 occasions I tried to find out who the General Manager/Owner of Sunshine Coast Solarhart was, and they refused to tell me. In summary, if you have already paid a deposit & cannot back out of the contract; don't pay the full payment on the day of installation, as demanded. Make sure everything is working as promised and you have had the correct items installed. Once they have your money you go back to the end of the clue and you will be fitted-in, on a slow day. Sunshine Coast Solarhart aren't totally hopeless, the framework is there, with at least 1 management change plus code of conduct/ethics training. All the workers that attended my house were friendly and I have no complaints; 1 worker was obviously untrained in installing inverters but that's not his fault.Receive up to 3 quotes with ProductReview.com.au

Post Installation Customer Service
Salesman did a great job telling me that when the new solar hot water system was installed to replace an ageing system the existing pipes and cables would be checked for compliance and if anything needed remedied that was included in the price. After installation I discovered that the existing pipes in the loft space did not appear to be insulated which it says in the installation literature is essential. I've called the Newcastle Office several times since December 2020 and I've emailed the salesman. I keep getting told that the top technician...
Read more would investigate and advise but had no response whatsoever. It appears to me that they just don't care after they have my money! I will not do business with them again and I will be recommending to my many local friends and acquaintances to give them a miss!Don't Even Consider One...!!!!!
Don't buy one...!!!
No Customer Service Available After Purchase....!!!
Solarhart couldn't care less once the system is installed and they have your money.
Don't be fooled by the marketing and so called discounts. Once installed, if there is a problem you go to a call centre which may as well be in the Phillipines. The call centre knows NOTHING about Hot Water Systems and they have NO direct contact with contractors....!!! There is absolutely no one i.e. a technician you can call directly to swiftly solve a problem ASAP. You have to sit back an...

Woeful installation experience.
Sales team were excellent, however...
Once the deposit was paid I didn't hear from them, until an SMS message after business hours from one of their subcontractors who did not have the full scope of works. Difficut to get satisfaction once the contract is signed.
Avoid.

Technician absolutely useless.
Our unit is an Edwards system, 10 yrs old, and existed on the house we purchased 3 yrs ago. We were advised that Solarhart could service these units., even though they are no longer manufactured. We were concerned that the system was not heating properly. Although detailed information had been give to the 'office' when making the booking, the technician was unaware of our issues. The technician arrived and took off one end panel and did a visual inspection only. He said there was no evidence of leaks in the casing or pipes but because the sy...
Read morestem was so old it probably would not last through the summer, possibly explode, as he felt there must be and internal issue that was not visible from this inspection. He advised to leave the backup electrical switch on 24/7 all year and never turn it off. He said a service of the unit would be a waste of time. He also offered to have the company send out information on a new Solarhart system. Normally the payment is required prior to appointment, however we paid our bill to technician on site and received our invoice the following day. The following day we had another inspection from a private company, on our request. This technician used to work for Solarhart and was considered to be one of their best at the time. He turned off the hot water, disconnected the tank and did a pressure check for leaks as well as a visual inspection. Conclusion - Tank is in perfect working condition. No repairs required and advised that we should get up to another 10 years from this unit. He also advised to use the back up switch for only 2 hrs when required as any longer is totally unnecessary and a waste of electricity. The bill was $40 cheaper and paid after job completed.Receive up to 3 quotes with ProductReview.com.au
Seem to work ok but workmanship on the roof terrible
First off sales and admin were really good, the company itself has not contacted me since i sent them an email, does not worry them, When the trades arrived they did not even say they were from solahart, could have been anybody luckily the name was on the truck, the panels, some are under stress, one corner down one corner up, are up and down and not straight on the roof, when I picked the problem i was told it was the roof, and the panel laying crooked on the roof was what they call a uphill system lol, they said it was to late that afternoon ...
Read moreand would come back and remove all panels and rectify, they came back but did not remove all panels just did a patch up job, in there own installation instructions there is supposed to be a gap between the panel, on the long side there is, but short side not, i said to the installer about this missing gap and he said no, i don't think they have a measuring tape, level, or string line, there was pvc glue spilled on the colourbond roof, and no one said anything until asked about it, not good work man ship, i went with a local dealer thinking they will be better than the cheaper systems on tv, wasted our money, Let me say here that the system seems to be working fine and it is only because of poor work habits that it has got to this stage, already one customer turned away after viewing the panels- 4 reviews

Company lacks customer values
Installers did a fantastic job on the day. All sub contractors. Very polite and well managed for a big install. More than what can be said from the actual business and their electrician. [name removed] at the mandurah store was extremely bad to deal with from multiple family members.
House nearly suffered a bad electrical fire.... One did happen behind the meter box from bad wiring but luckily being double brick and 2 story it was isolated.
Approached the previously mentioned mandurah store with report from personally hired electrician. Electrical fault due too solar install causing fire.
All received was attitude and no reimbursement. I'll be taking the appropriate action and reporting to electrical board and supplier companies.

Quick reliable service
During the cool part of the year I was happy that the team could act upon my cold showers within a week. John was helpful and educated me about the system well. Had a hot shower that night they were helpful with directions as to the government incentives and did not demand payment straight away

Solahart Melbourne West are Cowboys
Two missed appointments. 3 goes at Installing, 1st time not enough rails to attach panels to the roof, 2nd time they ran out of cables. 3rd time all completed however the inspector failed the install due to non compliance. The inspector disconnected the system due to the sanger of burning the house down. The system had to be reinstalled by another installer. This whole process took 5 months
Price gouging : BEWARE
The hot water heater has been great but the very first time we needed a service call they severely gouged us, charging over $550 to install a $30 part (as they came without the part even though I had described the problem and a quick search on the internet after the fact told me that the valve needed replacing) plus charging us travel both times when they had told us the first time that the technician was dropping in on the way back through town as well as charging a full service call both times even though all they did was look at it on the way through town the first time. Beware if you are dealing with this company
As a follow up, I note many of the reviews say similar things. It looks to me like they purposely dont carry the parts needed to undertake repairs so they can over charge on service calls, and I also ...

I submitted a review around 3-4 weeks ago expressing my amazement that when Solahart sent a repair person to fix my 8 y.o. Solahart 302J roof-mounted system, he sent me an invoice for $740, with another visit required to replace the sacrificial anode at a further $200.
This service is apparently necessary every 5 years, doubling the price of the system over its lifetime.
This was never mentioned either when making initial enquiries or at the time of installation.
l attempted to make detailed enquiries at the time but these were artfully deflected by sales staff.
Needless to say l would never have bought the system had l known the cost over 20 years was $8000 rather than $4000.
I have contacted Solahart 3 times but never received so much as an acknowledgement.
My review has disappeared from this website. Why?
Yes solarhart have problems with maintence that other brands dont have.
Thanks Sammy. These problems would include failing to mention at the time of purchase that the lifetime cost is double what they're advertising? That they're continuing to advertise that their system...
