Bad from the start
Was told that a site evaluation was needed ,i okeyed that ,they gave clearance to install the solar hot water service .The morning came to install the system and obviously they didnt do a site check like they said they would and needed a crane to lift the heater onto the roof ,major drama as nearest crane was back at Bairnsdale a one hour drive by car from site.I wanted gas boosted but got talked into electric, the reason being the person in charge told me one day i might want to go solar electricity and the booster would be a better option ,ma...
Read morede sense at the time ,enquired about solar electricity and was told the solar heater was put in the wrong spot andbecause of that fact cant put enough solar panels on roof to make it viable .i got home from work and wife said the plumber had all sorts of problems but sorted them out ,i went out front to have a look at the heater on the roof and saw exposed red thick wiring and rang the solahart place, the person in chargew said the plumber must have left the cover off and could i put it back on ,which i did ,the hot water took about 30 to 45 seconds to come through the pipe which we put up with for years thinking it was a solar thing ,but have recently renovated our bathroom and found out a few things were done dodgy in the plumbing of the heater by solahart, our electritian said to me have i been up in the roof doing dodgy plumbing ? as the plumbing work from the solahart heater is dodgy ,and i of course havent ,since renovating i get hot water from the tap in 2 seconds as all the prior plumbing has been fixed . I have more issues but will save that for another review ,think carefully before considering solahart- Value for Money

No interest in after sales service
Had a solar hot water system installed almost 2 years ago and have had a lot of problems with the water not being hot enough. We are constantly having to switch on the electric booster. The only time the water is hot enough is if it is a hot day. Even if the sun is out all day on cooler days, the water does not heat more than tepid. I have phoned Solahart a couple of times and they are not interested in finding out why this is happening. I think something has to be wrong because I have had a different brand of solar hot water at a previous hou...
Read morese and almost never had to turn on the booster. This has been a very expensive exercise because we are not saving much at all on our electricity cost, after spending over $4000 on the system. Don't buy Solahart, they don't work well and the Company is not interested in helping to see why.- Value for Money

Bundaberg Solahart, your after-service is shocking!
We had panels fitted in May and couldn't fault the engineers, they were great and the install was professional, everything was explained.
Now to the after-service... My system has not been switched on to Ergon and I have just received my unexpectedly high quarterly bill. Emails from the manager stating everything was connected and up and running obviously were sent in jest.
Prior to this they failed to register my order to get the 5-years interest free option. A lot of subsequent calls, emails and face to face eventually resulted in them doing what they should have in May, only 3 late.
Don't use and I wish I had seen this site prior to going with Solahart.

Solahart install but do not switch on panels. Result, 1 whole quarter with no solar input & full bill
We had solar panels installed. Lots of email updates on status of work, visits from installers, Energex etc., told we were “good to go”.
Result: Panels were installed & connected but never switched on!! With a major installation like this you’d expect the supplier/installer to switch them on to make sure they are working! If an electrician does a simple light fitting, he switches it in to check it’s working. Solar panels on your roof, you’re expected to check yourself.
Result 1 whole quarter of panels not working & a $550 bill. Thanks Solahart...

Know better, choose better.
Expensive ineffective system don't waste your money
The system fails every twelve months, thermostat needs replacing annually, last year the pump, motherboard and a few other items failed that cost over $1100 to fix on top of the $4700 system wouldn't recommend

Solahart Quote
Their sale agent came to my place and he was good in explaining what system I need, then he wrote a price on a piece of paper and he said "I will send you the quote tonight" and after 1 month, repeated calls (he answered only to the first one), text messages (he never replied) and emails (he never replied) I am still waiting for it. I think this guy came to my place just to be out of the office, no interest to sell anything.
In the meantime I chose another company and they are coming to install my system.
