Stay away from Solahart Hoppers Crossing VIC
Cowboy contractors hired by company with no sense of Standard/compliance took few minutes to run AC cable between two dry wall and invoiced for unagreed $495 for pre wiring which is currently not approved by inspector as it’s not in metal conduit. Pricey outdated panels and terrible service makes Solahart least preferred provider for solar energy system.
Could have been a great product 20 years ago, differently not now
Had installed solar hart system in 2014 .received a larger than normal water bill must have a leak somewhere, notice solar hart panel gushing water phone solar hart it’s out of warranty. What piece of crap.
Very bad installation
Avoid solahart Rutherford owner is extremely rude and was very angry that I payed another company to look at it the system is only 5 and a 1/2 years old and no longer working and the wiring is substandard and now the system is out of warranty. I'm going to pay another company to try and fix the extremely bad installation was told they dont have to fix it and they would come and look at it but still waiting
If your a Family Don’t get solar hot water
I’ve now had this system for 12 months so this is what I’ve found.
The Good. Plenty of Hot water in summer.
The Bad. One day of cloud in winter with booster on off peak 2 still not enough hot water for a family of 6.
It was explained to me that gov regulations have forced the change in the booster location of the tank which now only heats half the tank whereas my old solar hot water heated the whole tank. I never had a problem with the old system.

Tanks rust out prematurely. Absolute crap tanks. Avoid
Tank is <10 years old. They say they should last 20 - 30 years. But only warranty for 5 years....because our is rusted out throughout already. Concept works brilliant, so find another brand. These are not up to standard.
Sunshine Coast Solahart - Incompetent or Fraudulent? Maybe both.
The salesperson was pretty smooth & showed me all the positive power graphs with the $ saving; however, make sure that the exact model number of inverter & panels are listed on the quote because you may get second-hand, much older & lesser quality products installed, as I did. On the first visit, my existing working solar system was disabled when a worker was injured & I was left with no solar power for 6 days until they returned and installed the system with a second-hand inverter. I was initially contacted and told that there was a couple of ...dents on the front panel & $100 was discounted off the price; however, I later found that the invertor had been previously installed in another person's name & had 2 rusty scratches across the front panel. Solarhart returned a third time to install another inverter which did not work at all. When I heard the van drive away, I immediately checked the system which was alarming with an error code. The inverter Techs in Sydney told me that the person who installed the inverter was obviously untrained and even worst the inverter was not the model that I had paid for. The Operations Manager tried convincing me that the older inverter was better than the later model. His tone changed when I wouldn't swallow the yarn & insinuated that I was a whinger & was responsible for the injured worker (he later vigorously denied that was not his intent). Weeks later, on the fourth visit, another inverter was installed and it worked, yippie. The inverter was still not the model that I paid for but there's no way that I want Solarhart back. I was promised some recompense for having no solar power for weeks & the stress of being stuffed around, but nay. In addition, I don't know what happened to the government grants (STCs) dollars that are always advertised. On at least 4 occasions I tried to find out who the General Manager/Owner of Sunshine Coast Solarhart was, and they refused to tell me. In summary, if you have already paid a deposit & cannot back out of the contract; don't pay the full payment on the day of installation, as demanded. Make sure everything is working as promised and you have had the correct items installed. Once they have your money you go back to the end of the clue and you will be fitted-in, on a slow day. Sunshine Coast Solarhart aren't totally hopeless, the framework is there, with at least 1 management change plus code of conduct/ethics training. All the workers that attended my house were friendly and I have no complaints; 1 worker was obviously untrained in installing inverters but that's not his fault.

Came in cracked 4 ceilings , a hole in a door , didn’t clean up after themselves, left off cut wiring in the gutters and left over conduit in the ceiling as well as not installing the system the way they had it in the quote.
I’ll give them a little credit because they fixed the ceilings and door but I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone else
Post Installation Customer Service
Salesman did a great job telling me that when the new solar hot water system was installed to replace an ageing system the existing pipes and cables would be checked for compliance and if anything needed remedied that was included in the price. After installation I discovered that the existing pipes in the loft space did not appear to be insulated which it says in the installation literature is essential. I've called the Newcastle Office several times since December 2020 and I've emailed the salesman. I keep getting told that the top technician...would investigate and advise but had no response whatsoever. It appears to me that they just don't care after they have my money! I will not do business with them again and I will be recommending to my many local friends and acquaintances to give them a miss!

Don't be fooled by the marketing and so called discounts. Once installed, if there is a problem you go to a call centre which may as well be in the Phillipines. The call centre knows NOTHING about Hot Water Systems and they have NO direct contact with contractors....!!! Absolutely shocking solahart hot water system
I had a solahartL series fitted by Solarhart team Sunshine Coast at the start of winter 2020 1st June and for the whole of winter we have had to turn the BOOSTER ON every morning g no hot water every morning so I can see why the Solahart Solar Hot water system only got 2.6 star rating when the good efficient Solar Systems get 4.5 to 5.0 Star ratings. Looked at problem solving on Google with all Solutions saying I have a Major Costly Problem. I rang team Solahart Sunshine. Coast after nearly 2 weeks a service person came out adjusted a. Valve...said it now works , next morning no Hot Water rang the team again they sent a Service person again after nearly 2 weeks all that was done was water temperatures taken after another 2 weeks still no Hot Water the team came tilted the solar collectors on the roof looks very ugly they said it was fixed again have not had any Solar Hot Walter so rang the team at Solahart again tried to explain the problem was again overtalked interrupted and told to turn THE BOOSTER ON AND LEAVE IT SWITCHED ON then hung up in my Ear so I now would have to pay the extra electricity bill which I noticed on my last bill the electricity consumption had jumped up since last year. It’s now into Spring and still no Solar Hot Water in the morning so I looked up the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT SOLAR WEBSITE AND THAT DESCRIBES THE SOLAHART ELECTRIC BOOSTER SYSTEM THAT REQUIRES BEING SWITCHED ON ALL THE TIME AS “ inefficient and costly cutting in and pre -empting the Solar Sun Heating” After having a Solar Hot Water System for well over 12 years that worked well during Winter it Supplied Hot Water that required some Cold to shower I will continue a report at the end of spring , at the end of summer and in autumn when I will use my 20/21 Family Holiday Savings to buy a New 4.5 to 5.0 Star Solar Hot Water System that works all year round I will then write a report on the difference between Solahart 2,6 star and a 4,5 5,0 star System RobertBarnes SUNSHINE COAST

Woeful installation experience.
Sales team were excellent, however...
Once the deposit was paid I didn't hear from them, until an SMS message after business hours from one of their subcontractors who did not have the full scope of works. Difficut to get satisfaction once the contract is signed.
Technician absolutely useless.
Our unit is an Edwards system, 10 yrs old, and existed on the house we purchased 3 yrs ago. We were advised that Solarhart could service these units., even though they are no longer manufactured. We were concerned that the system was not heating properly. Although detailed information had been give to the 'office' when making the booking, the technician was unaware of our issues. The technician arrived and took off one end panel and did a visual inspection only. He said there was no evidence of leaks in the casing or pipes but because the sy...stem was so old it probably would not last through the summer, possibly explode, as he felt there must be and internal issue that was not visible from this inspection. He advised to leave the backup electrical switch on 24/7 all year and never turn it off. He said a service of the unit would be a waste of time. He also offered to have the company send out information on a new Solarhart system. Normally the payment is required prior to appointment, however we paid our bill to technician on site and received our invoice the following day. The following day we had another inspection from a private company, on our request. This technician used to work for Solarhart and was considered to be one of their best at the time. He turned off the hot water, disconnected the tank and did a pressure check for leaks as well as a visual inspection. Conclusion - Tank is in perfect working condition. No repairs required and advised that we should get up to another 10 years from this unit. He also advised to use the back up switch for only 2 hrs when required as any longer is totally unnecessary and a waste of electricity. The bill was $40 cheaper and paid after job completed.
Company lacks customer values
Installers did a fantastic job on the day. All sub contractors. Very polite and well managed for a big install. More than what can be said from the actual business and their electrician. [name removed] at the mandurah store was extremely bad to deal with from multiple family members.
House nearly suffered a bad electrical fire.... One did happen behind the meter box from bad wiring but luckily being double brick and 2 story it was isolated.
Approached the previously mentioned mandurah store with report from personally hired electrician. Electrical fault due too solar install causing fire.
All received was attitude and no reimbursement. I'll be taking the appropriate action and reporting to electrical board and supplier companies.

I purchased a hot water solar system which is the biggest they have- as recommended by the company of course ($$$$++++). The installation was straight forward, but I’ve had to hound them to come back and fix the system as it was leaning against the wall after the water filled up (which they were reluctant to resolve initially; stating they would only come back out to our place once other jobs had been logged in the area. Clearly just to suit them. Had to pull out the Mum voice to get them to come immediately). The piping was also leaking from t...he roof and overall the system is-so far- a big waste of money. I’ve had to use supplemental electricity to keep the water hot on several occasions and I live in NTH QLD. Absolutely ridiculous given the size of the system. Overall do not recommend. Don’t waste your money people!!!! Townsville Solahart themselves are not the greatest company to deal with. Consumers shouldn’t have to constantly bug them to rectify issues. I also wanted additional plumbing work and they said they’d come back to quote me and of course never did. Their loss.

Two missed appointments. 3 goes at Installing, 1st time not enough rails to attach panels to the roof, 2nd time they ran out of cables. 3rd time all completed however the inspector failed the install due to non compliance. The inspector disconnected the system due to the sanger of burning the house down. The system had to be reinstalled by another installer. This whole process took 5 months
