Terrible Service Do Not Use Them
Shocking, they are not telling you all the costs up front and they are taking your money with no service been done. Do no use them at all!!!! First not been told that have call out fees $125 (these days everyone has call out fee, so reasonable, but $125?? is that too much for call out fee???) Then they are not telling you that deposit is not refundable, then they are not telling you that payment by credit card have 1% surcharge. Shocking company solahart try to robbing you off, do not us them at all.

No interest in after sales service
Had a solar hot water system installed almost 2 years ago and have had a lot of problems with the water not being hot enough. We are constantly having to switch on the electric booster. The only time the water is hot enough is if it is a hot day. Even if the sun is out all day on cooler days, the water does not heat more than tepid. I have phoned Solahart a couple of times and they are not interested in finding out why this is happening. I think something has to be wrong because I have had a different brand of solar hot water at a previous hou...se and almost never had to turn on the booster. This has been a very expensive exercise because we are not saving much at all on our electricity cost, after spending over $4000 on the system. Don't buy Solahart, they don't work well and the Company is not interested in helping to see why.
Bundaberg Solahart, your after-service is shocking!
We had panels fitted in May and couldn't fault the engineers, they were great and the install was professional, everything was explained.
Now to the after-service... My system has not been switched on to Ergon and I have just received my unexpectedly high quarterly bill. Emails from the manager stating everything was connected and up and running obviously were sent in jest.
Prior to this they failed to register my order to get the 5-years interest free option. A lot of subsequent calls, emails and face to face eventually resulted in them doing what they should have in May, only 3 late.
Don't use and I wish I had seen this site prior to going with Solahart.
Solahart install but do not switch on panels. Result, 1 whole quarter with no solar input & full bill
We had solar panels installed. Lots of email updates on status of work, visits from installers, Energex etc., told we were “good to go”.
Result: Panels were installed & connected but never switched on!! With a major installation like this you’d expect the supplier/installer to switch them on to make sure they are working! If an electrician does a simple light fitting, he switches it in to check it’s working. Solar panels on your roof, you’re expected to check yourself.
Result 1 whole quarter of panels not working & a $550 bill. Thanks Solahart...
Expensive ineffective system don't waste your money
The system fails every twelve months, thermostat needs replacing annually, last year the pump, motherboard and a few other items failed that cost over $1100 to fix on top of the $4700 system wouldn't recommend
Their sale agent came to my place and he was good in explaining what system I need, then he wrote a price on a piece of paper and he said "I will send you the quote tonight" and after 1 month, repeated calls (he answered only to the first one), text messages (he never replied) and emails (he never replied) I am still waiting for it. I think this guy came to my place just to be out of the office, no interest to sell anything.
In the meantime I chose another company and they are coming to install my system.

Lost all faith in Solahart - buy something else - Customer satisfaction is not their focus
My system has been working well for almost 10 years. Bought the so called "extended warranty" and now my tank supposedly needs replacing as they are unable to change the anode and perform the required service as outlined in the owners manual. The service is $495 which I have no objection in paying, but have been told that I need to cough up $825 for the replacement as labour is not covered. I can't believe such a big company is willing to risk their reputation and not replace my tank for the sake of $330 which is the difference what I am willin...g to pay to what I was quoted. It seems customer service and keeping their customers happy is far from their focus based on all the poor reviews I've seen on this site. Once my unit dies, I'm going to replace with a continuous flow gas system or a cheap Chinese unit.
unit hasn't worked for full twelve months without a call out and has caused damage to roof
Why wont solahart take responsibility for their installers, they wouldn't return my calls and declined my invitation to view what I believe a terrible installation and here is why. The unit was installed in the wrong place, just 2 ft from the back step. Unit wasn't installed with auxiliary switch on booster element as per solahart recommendations. So after I had switch installed some years later we found the unit had only been working on electricity instead of free from the sun. After jumping up and down and threatening to go to fair trading t...he panels were finally replaced. The incorrect insulation was used on pipping again contrary to recommendations. After panels replaced the unit had a leak and for the last 5 1/2 years the installer couldn't fix it just kept topping up the closed loop system on a regular basis. I found the leak and repaired it, the wrong olives were used in the connections, plastic instead of copper. Because the leak has discharged the fluid on the recently replaced zinc alum roof it has caused rusting and we are now up for the cost of replacing 3 sheets of roof. The panels stand isn't screwed to the battens just screwed to the roof and one of screws has been pulled out due to the twisting of the stand. I could go on and on with all the faults I found but I will just say use this product and installer at your own risk!
Terrible customer complaint resolution.
6kw Solar panel system installed mid Jan. Couldn't wait for my April quarterly bill to finally see my savings. None. Solahart had not finalised the installation process with Origin Energy. The panels were on my roof for 3 months doing nothing but costing me money.. I had to follow up with Solahart numerous times without success and i had to resolve the issue myself with Origin. Solahart were useless and once made the sale i was a very low priority. Zero after sales care. Yes i eventually got some compensation but that was after i negotiated. I ...would never recommend them, you can get cheaper anywhere so if you're not paying for after sales service what are you paying for. Even now after another 3 months another issue and still haven't received a new bill to show me any savings if any. I'm in sales and when a customer of mine has had a major issue with my company I diarise a follow up to ensure everything is cleared up and working. Do yourself a favour and give them a miss.
Hi i rang Solahart at Swan Hill in Victoria which they service our area for a price on a 3 KW system which they gave me its a little bit dear so i rang and said i go ahead with it so over to the town which is 200KM away and after talking for a short time they said that they could not do the job for at less 3 months and try a another agent which was over 280 KM away rang them for a price and never heard back from them maybe the first was busy but going by the body language they did not want the job and the other to far away

Solarhart midland wa disappointing
Seems these guys are happy to take your money but once they have it they don’t want to know you won’t return calls the cost is a lot more than most but went with them as solarhart has been round for a long time but very disappointed with solarhart midland

Contacted for 5 year service and quoted a price. Tradesman turned up said roof was too high and went away. Some weeks later I contacted Office requesting status of service, said they would get back to me. Two weeks later still no word. I contacted the office again said they would get back next week which finally happened said quote would go up by $250 as roof was higher than expected. Service finally completed.
During this time had repeated calls from their sales office about their solar installation quote when would I accept!!!!
Couldn't give our money away!
We contacted Solarhart Albury to come & give us a quote for solar panels for our home. It took several calls in order to have a salesman visit. Although the salesman was friendly and informative, we had to call many times to even get a quote. We called to confirm, ready to sign, it took almost 4 weeks & many calls to have him visit & requote us. After making further contact, we were promised a call back in 10 minutes to sort out our situation...after 2 hours we called to cancel, even the office staff seemed unsurprised or concerned, stating 'oh well, these things happen.'
We never before experienced sellers less interested in a sale. Very disappointing as we prefer to support local business wherever pissible.

hot water that leaves me cold
solarhart( Maitland branch) had already put up panels on our roof, when we decided to use them again for our hot water. They already knew we were a 2 storey house. The quote given, we thought took into account that we are still a 2 storey house. When workmen arrived, stated that they did not know we were a 2 storey building, and required a bigger "lifter"for the panel. This meant that we were going to get slugged an extra $300-00. Not fair I stated as this should have been part of the original quote. That's why it's called a quote. The work w...as not overseen by a senior and therefore, when the unit gushed water, we had to send the workers back up on the roof ("we didn't put the pipes on properly"), and again, when they left tiles off the roof. I stated that this was unfair to pay an additional cost that they were supposed to already calculate ( that's why they call it a quote/contract). We were then "threatened" by the company stating that they would not give guarantee or that they would dismantle the unit( is that what they call blackmail?). So in effect we were bullied and threatened into this added expense. Do not trust this company word as it is worthless as proven to us. So was the Dept of Fair Trading and Consumer Affairs- "so long as the job was finished.....". I think they missed the point about quotes and quality of workmanship. I guess Australia now has no self pride in its work??
