Bad advice + Bad fix = Busted Roof Panels
Had a leaking frost valve, regular plumber said contact these people. Was told "You only need one frost valve, we can just remove the leaking one". Two weeks or so later the Solarhart man arrived, frost valve was removed, all fixed..... Until, several weeks and frosts later we heard water running down a downpipe, on a corner of the house we don't pass often. The roof panel where the frost valve was removed had burst, very hard to spot where the panels are situated, could have been losing water for a week, just waiting for the excess water bill. Solar hot water will soon be gone from our roof for good. Not Recommended at all.

Don’t waste time and money!
Rang solar hart on a Monday for 84 year old mother who had no hot water, they sent round sub contractor Tuesday afternoon who told us we needed a new system and that solar hart would send us a quote by the end of week, it’s been one week and still no correspondence from solar hart, great effort from solar hart for an elderly lady in the middle of winter.

Their own bad installaiton caused damages and they demanded payment for repairs
On my roof I have a Solahart hot water cylinder. Last year I paid $200 for maintenance and this year it broke down and it turned out that it was due to a short that in their cabling around the junction box (see image of melted box below). They are demanding further $600+ for repairing the damages they caused.
When will people start to realize that if they have solar panels and buy a regular hot water cylinder with a daytime timer for less than 1/3 of their price they are way better of with no running costs and not exposed to be ripped of for overpiced repairs and maintenance charges?
This product is just so unsustainable, customers just forget to do the proper maths to realize that.

Warranty not honoured
I had a bad experience with Solahart. Part of the problem is that each West Australian Company in this case Balcatta and Midland are not run by the same management. One company Midland was prepared to honour the warranty.
History..I had experienced major problems since new install 2021. Not getting satisfactory hot water. The same poor performance existed before the new system was installed. No proper inspection was done prior to installation and the initial problem for poor hot water performance a non performing valve existed with the o...

Take Your Business Elsewhere
We recently had a service and recondition performed on an existing Solahart roof top solar hot water system (about 17 years old with no history of maintenance) which has left us with more questions than answers.
Once the service technician was on the roof, within five minutes the technician stated the hot water system was ageing and would likely need to be replaced soon. Two options were discussed, perform a recondition of the system to buy some time, or what was perceived to be his preference, replace the system. When the technician learned ...
Read morewe had an outstanding quotation for a solar PV system from Solahart, he made a call to his office and tried to hard sell us on a combined solar PV system and new roof top solar system at a 'great price', saving us thousands of dollars, but the offer had to be agreed to right then and there. Not liking being hard sold to, and that the quote for the solar PV system was several thousand dollars greater than the other four quotes we obtained, I informed the technician to just perform the recondition service of the roof top system for the additional recondition fee. He continued for 5-10 minutes attempting to hard sell us on the combination solar PV system and new hot water system and eventually gave up and performed the recondition service on the hot water system. When he was completed with his work, he informed us that we would receive a recondition report via email as to what actions were performed and what was replaced from a parts perspective. Over two weeks later, the report was not received. We contacted the admin staff (who were always very polite and engaging on the phone) on two separate occasions to request the report, and just before making a third request, received the report nearly a month after the original work (and which were not given the opportunity to review nor sign as evident in the report at the completion of the work). Due to this delay in receiving the report, I decided to take a cursory look at the hot water system and the work that was done to it using the report as a guide. It appears that potentially only one part was replaced along with one large gob of silicone (both were shiny and new looking compared to the rest of the system). Several of the other external parts stated to have been replaced in the report did not look to be new parts - the original plumbing tape appeared to still be in use. Additional, there were bits and pieces left on the roof that include a plastic coupling/bushing/sleeve, an O-ring left hanging on a water valve, and a small water line filter disc. On top of that, we now have a small leak at one of the water valves that was not there before the work.- Value for Money

Premium price for poorly rated HWS
So I did a lot of research when my hot water system needed replacing, and I learned a lot.
Firstly, my old roof top mounted SolaHart hot water system was installed in 2006. It lasted nearly 16 years, which is about double the length of time they last now, but more about that later.
I got two quotes. One from Solahart, the other from another hot water system company.
Solahart’s quote was $5600 to replace the gas boosted hot water system and replace it with the same size but this time electric boosted system. 300 litres and two panels.
The quote I got from another company was $3810.00.
Before I went ahead with either company, I did some research....
Read more Solahart, Rheem and Solar Edwards hot water systems are now all made by the same company. Further research revealed that those systems don’t last nearly as long as they used to. Read the reviews. Whereas I got nearly 16 years use, the newer systems (according to the reviews I read were getting as little as 8, and one had 6 years before it started leaking). So if you’re expecting similar quality from your new hot water system, or 15-20 years use out of it, you may be disappointed. If Solahart’s reviews were good, and most people agreed their heaters were the best, I’d consider the nearly $2000 EXTRA they wanted for their hot water system, but I simply couldn’t find ANY good reviews. That quote from Solahart by the way was on top of the $360 call out fee which diagnosed the problem and did actually include the use of a 50 litre hot water system (for 24 hours). Another thing to consider is the company. Are all their services provided in house or to they subcontract? I called a different local business (not solahart) to get my second quote because like most people you want to support local businesses, only to find they subcontract for a Perth company. So when I went ahead with the quote and was told a certain install date, I was very disappointed when the “install team” told me it would be another week on top of the week I was told the heater would be installed. According to the “install team”, there was a minimum two week installation time, which was news to me, and news to the person I had spoken to who said installation would take place on the date she gave me; which was a week earlier. In fact that was one of the main reasons I initially chose this company; it was a week for install and their price was good. This miscommunication happened because I was actually dealing with two different companies. So, make sure the company you choose (where possible), does everything in house (as much as possible these days). I.e. Are actually local, have local plumbers in house, or subcontract local plumbers, and most importantly have local service technicians should something go wrong or needs looking at. Perth is 80k’s from where I live. Hardly local! So I paid $3800 for my new hot water system and the whole process from water heater failing to installation took 18 days. With call out fees, and temporary water heater loan costs, the total figure was $4270.00 Not a nice experience to have to go through.- Incentivised Review No

Rude Phone Manner
We received promotional material in our mailbox despite the clear sign saying No Junk Mail. The website shown on the flyer does not exist. I called the phone number shown on the flyer and asked why we had received it. "Sam" told me the Post had distributed it so to take it up with them and told me my question was silly. When I tried to respond she hung up on me before I had the chance. Very rude and insulting. The customer service skills are definitely lacking. I bet if I had called up interested in a purchase I would have gotten a different response. I hold doubts that anyone using their services would be listened to if any sort of disagreement occurred.

Poor follow up and lack of installation workmanship guarrantee
My roof was in perfect condition prior to installation of the HWS. I now have to place a tub underneath where the solar panels were installed. Solarhart have not lived up to their promise of warrantying the installation of the unit. Greenwashing turned water on carpet with health hazardous mould.

I insisted on buying a solar system from what was supposed to be the best. We paid considerably more than from a "lesser" company. The salesman was great, but tried to persuade my that I didn't need as large a system as I wanted.
We've never seen that salesman since. His promises have not been met. We 'invested' in the Solaredge system so that we could monitor the system. It has spent more time NOT working than working. Solarhart do not care. They did send out one of their electricians one time: he couldn't get any assistance from the dealer either. Our electricity bills are a similar level to what they were before we installed a 5.5kW Solarhart system. Thanks Solarhart...for nothing.

Unprofessional Rogues with Poor customer service
The worst lack of customer service ever... I originally contacted Solahart for information of my system that wasn't working properly, they advised the plumbers they used and after a month we needed a quote for Sewer connection also. I just happened to request a quote from the same plumbers for 2 different jobs no sooner to be invoiced by Solahart Mandurah. Despite asking if there was a callout fee for plumbing quotes (I was advised no). Amanda Brown has been rude & demanding that because I used the same plumbers they require payment, she is a rogue and wont be getting our business. I have contacted the CCC to report them

Stay away from Solahart Hoppers Crossing VIC
Cowboy contractors hired by company with no sense of Standard/compliance took few minutes to run AC cable between two dry wall and invoiced for unagreed $495 for pre wiring which is currently not approved by inspector as it’s not in metal conduit.
