Failure for after sales service
Service is fine until the money is paid and everything signed, sealed and installed. Any after sales service is virtually non existent and requires constant phone calls and followups before any action occurs. Tried calling the local office, lodging an on line form and calling their 1300 number - same result for each.
Being told 'someone' will contact me in 24 hours, days later still no contact.
Given bad advice
I'm not going to go into too much detail, and they may know who I am. But when asking for a quote and what I would receive, well, let's just say I received less kw than I asked for. I believed it would be up to a certain amount, however the installer told me that the person who quoted me was wrong. I have really no idea if this is going to work out now. I wanted to get rid of an old system, but the person who did the quote, told me not to bother and just add another system and together they would reach a certain capacity. Well, that was a lie. ...It won't reach it. Apparently, the old system was just about kaput anyway, and if the person quoting told me that I would've removed the old one and bought a 5kw system. The person quoting was full of it. Now I'm generating less electricity than I'd like, I have to replace the old one anyway, and I'm not sure how well the new one will cope because they have stretched it to max capacity and it's not upgradable. My advice is to really think about what you want. If you have an old system, that's not upgradable, think about getting it removed, that way you'll know for sure that you'll receive the 5kw. Not like me, where one system is stretched to capacity (I never asked for that btw) and another system is underproducing. I just didn't like the lack of information given to me about it all during the quote. There can be problems with solar stretched to max capacity. The installers were fine, very personable and helped me to understand the system. Not much. Deceiving on quote about what I'll receive, check everything they give you, max output, max input, whether you need to upgrade an old system, don't believe what they tell you, they're just there to sell you something. lesson learnt.
Solargain employee came out to quote install of temperature valve on existing solar hot water system. Quote was fine. On the day of installation within 20 min of solar gain being on the roof the solar hot water system had "sprung an irreparable leake". A leake that is clearly evident now but apparently not worth mentioning on the day of the quote. Solargain now recommending a whole new solar hot water system. Not cheap!!! I felt he whole time that I was in a set up sales pitch that the staff had this agenda before they even arrived. Very unprofessional and hard sell. Beware!
Hard sell. Felt trapped.
Solargain or Solarfail
My 39 panels installed in Perth by Solargain only produces 2kw at 3pm. Each row of panels shades the row behind it. I pointed this out to the installer as he installed it. He said we can fix it later. 2 months later I'm still waiting.I think the size of the unit is too big for the available space.
Crammed too much on a small roof
