Point and shoot it does the rest
Digital photography is part of daily life with people using a mobile phone to capture the moment. To be competitive in the market place Camera manufacturers have down scaled their products packing them with features mobiles cannot match. This simply means you can have a small digital camera with the performance of a bulky DSLR for a fraction of the cost.
The SONY cybershot DSC-H300 is a brilliant point and shoot camera. A clear bright screen lets you easily compose the shot. If's what you are recording is not close, the powerful X35 zoom brings it to you. A 20 meg sensor ensures sharp images with built in image stabilisation. Of course the little SONY has all the features of its big brothers such as Picture Effects, Scene Selection, Manual Exposure, Tracking Focus, Panorama, Face Detection, Time exposure, Night Exposure, Movie recording to name a few. Most users will simply leave it in Auto mode but if you want to get creative, it can expand your options.
I liked the light weight, the feeling of quality and compact portablity. Using AA batteries with a life of about 300 shots it is a reliable travel companion.
If you want to achieve better photographs than possible from a cell phone without going the DSLR route the SONY Cybershot DSC-300 is in a class of its own.
On special at Aldi for $199.
