Dreadful Android interface.
I paid good money for this TV.
Functionally can't really complain although had a real job getting it to talk to my (SONY BRAVIA) hifi 5:1 speaker system.
My major gripe is with the interface. It is messy and horrible, very annoyingly unusable.
1) I don't want to see adverts for cheap nasty TV "reality shows" on my Home Page.
2) Having sorted out the Apps I like to use I would expect them to be in sorted order ON the Home Page.
I don't think that is too unreasonable an expectation. They are not. They revert to some default.
3) The programme list sorting is simply abysmal. ...It has to have been designed that way because nobody could have designed such a dogs dinner by accident. a) When going though the Programmed guide listings to sort/delete unwanted stations, many are simply not registered, even though they are tuned and functioning. Others are DUPLICATED. b) If they are listed and you manage to delete one, go back to the Guide window to find the next and they have ALL disappeared. To have a hope of restoring the list it is necessary to go back and forth a number of times.. 4) SONY/Google update this awful OS and change hard to find settings without notification. It is extremely discourteous and they should not do it. 5) If Auto programme search and update is turned OFF, why does it continue to add programmes to the listings? How does that happen? Why does that happen? 6) I don't know who is responsible for looking after this Android interface, but whoever is, it is simply a mess. They should get people who know and care about what they are doing. 7) I would NOT have bought this had I known how really bad this interface is. PLEASE FIX IT.
Purchased at JB Hi-Fi Retail Stores.
Just a disappointing experience
I bought this TV on 28 Dec 2019 at JB HiFi excitedly after reading global reviews. By late January 2020, there was a pixel fail causing an unlit black line down the middle of the screen. After some to'ing and fro-ing, by mid to late February, I had a replacement TV (after I was first offered a repair! On a 4 week old TV - unbelievable and outrageous Sony!)
By May 2020, the replacement TV is now doing what the technicians are calling a 'hard reboot' every time it is switched on, even though the power has not been turned off. This results in a 1...to 2 minute startup sequence where the tv turns itself off and on again, the animated 'android' logo appears, the Sony name appears and eventually, the Home screen turns on. So I have missed the first headline news report of the 6 o'clock news by the time it turns on. It may not sound like a big deal, but believe me, when you spend close to $4,000 for a TV, you want it to turn on within 15 seconds of pressing that green button. This replacement model also has 'dimpling' on the top two corners of the screen. After about 1.5 months of going through the requisite 'troubleshooting' steps Sony Customer Service has sent me, and negotiating a time for their technician to arrive and conduct the same troubleshooting sequences, it was decided that they would take the TV back and show it to Sony. That was 3 weeks ago. I have not had any call updating me of the situation, the 45-inch 'loan' TV the service company left to me is of course sub-par but I have no choice. I have no idea whether the TV is being repaired but I very much hope that it is replaced because again, for $4000, I should be given a new replacement for a TV that has not worked properly for more than a few weeks at a time.
Purchased in December 2019 at JB Hifi Home for $3,850.00.
Very Good Picture quality.
The interface is not as good LG web os but its ok and does the job.
The remote could be better as its cheap and nasty.
The styling of the tv is nice and looks sharp.
Purchased in July 2020 at Harvey Norman for $4,500.00.

TV and Installation
Our TV is amazing, but, we paid an extra $377 to have the TV installed by the Goodguys Geelong preferred installer; who were hired to set up my husbands hearing aid device and Foxtel. Unfortunately once they had finished and left we started to have problem with our Foxtel, which we thought was Foxtel's fault and also with my husbands hearing aid. We decided to get another installer to check the installation only to find out the TV was incorrectly installed. We were extremely disappointed and would never recommend the Goodguys installers.
