My confusion was speedily solved & very grateful. Can now access my account

I was unable to access my account to print it out for payment. On contacting Southern Phone I was made aware that I had not been set up as a new customer. This was quickly set up & I am really happy, because now I can access my account & print it out for payment; which I was not able with previous carrier. Show reply

Worst experience ever

They sent me a faulty modem. And I cant get through to anyone for help. I'm struggling to cancel my account. Starting to wonder if they dont pick up the phone I will never be able to cancel my account or fix any issue.

11 days without any internet or landline

After 2 year plan expired, we decided to renew... Firstly we were cut off immediately before receiving new modem as promised..Obviously you want to have a continuation of service,
Instead after numerous calls I was told they had no explanation why the service was cut off before the new modem was even posted.
Then after 2 further calls a tracking number was supposed to be provided.. It wasn't.. Further delays after incorrect tracking number was provided.
11 days later got new modem.. After hooking up, we still never had internet or landline.
Another day passed without service..Eventually a tech man said they had the wrong phone number in the modem..
Just up and running.. but confidence in reliability at an all time low.
Not recommended.

perfect plan for our needs

Happy with plan that we use for mobile phone calls at $10 per month. Usually use up to $250 worth of calls on this plan. Great value!!!!!!. Could not be more pleased with this value for money plan. Show reply

Wifi is terrible along with service

Internet service has not been working for days & iv tried to call several
Times but was on hold. I didnt ya e time to wait after 30mins.
Even before this my mobile date would be faster than my wifi. I sometimes need to work from home & this is not acceptable. Cancelling as soon as I can

Good service via live chat

I activated my SIM with Southern phones and the mobile data wasn't working. I tried all of the troubleshooting suggestions from the website and it still didn't work. So I tried calling yesterday and was on hold for 20 mins before I gave up. I was a bit worried after reading many of the reviews on here and I was ready for a difficult time getting it sorted. However... I tried the live chat today and it was sorted very quickly! They answered my message straight away , reset my SIM card and i had to wait 30 mins and done! So very happy. If you need technical support for mobile data I would suggest trying a live chat rather than a phone call. Link is in their website. Show reply

Appalling service. Rubbish phone connection

I would rate it 0 if I could. My elderly parents are with this company. The phone constantly drops out. When they try to contact anyone they are left on ho,d forever, listening to their rubbish advertising material. Avoid at all costs. I will be contacting the Ombudsman soon about this company.

Zero customer support

Cant get through on the support line. Live chat says operators are full and to leave my contact details. Support emails 12 hours later at 2.30am, problem ongoing, not resolved.

Not The Best

I have been with Southern Phone for over 4 years now and their Internet and land line phone is great but if you want to speak to some one about a problem, Good Luck. This is not the first time I have tried to speak to a live person and it is impossible. For 2 days now I have tried over and over again, waited 20 minutes and hung up in disgust. Problems can't be solved because it seems their are no live people around to talk to. What a shame when this is the only problem I have had.

STAY AWAY HORRIBLE!!

Took one and a half months to get the wifi up, and it isnt even working. Horrible customer service, at least 40 min waiting time. Do absolutely not not not not not recommend!!!

I have been with Southern Phone since I got a mobile which is years ago. I would never change. They have been totally customer focussed, and reasonably priced for a senior person, and whilst I have drowned one phone and changed twice they have coped with it all without drama. Show reply

Don’t waste your time with this people

They charge you with international phone call and sms that you don’t know about and if you leave because of that they charge you 300$ because you leaving the contact.. in other words Scammers

Don't bother asking even slightly technical questions

Contacted Southern Phone about mobile plan but wanted a couple of detail first. Their first reply was a blank email. Tried again, they "assumed" my hardware was incompatible (am using this hardware with another ISP on same Optus network), the second question ignored. Received 2 email from them for feedback, advised I was not satisfied with assumption and ignoring second question, no reply. Asked if anyone does anything if a potential customer gives negative feed back, no reply. I would hate to be with this useless mob and have a problem requiring some assistance from their help desk. It's a pity that one star is the lowest option would prefer to give ZERO.

Value for Money

Can Live without and NOW with TELSTRA

No drop outs just up to 1 hour waits for phone calls to be answered and then surly women taking the calls. My friends in outer Sydney who by the way I recruited to Southern, told me they had quit Southern and I never believed them until it happened to me. And like with NBN I quit Southern strait away and took my 2 mobiles to Telstra with a remarkable 60 Gb deal. I am still awaiting my refund that was not in today's mail from Mr Joss. Sir the women are surly and rude I dont know what it is but over the last 2 years they have deteriorated their manner. The men seem insipid and hand strung to make decisions, NO ONE in AUTHORITY is EVER Available.

Broadband is in and out all the time

Time frame to answer the phone the best was 32 minutes then I hug up the phone not good cheers.and that’s just to pay a bill because paying by net some times it doesn’t work.

Great mobile phone plan

I had a mobile phone plan with "yes optus" but the answers to my queries were always NO we cant match the $12 phone plan that Southern Phone offers - so I swapped and have never been happier with the saving and better service. Show reply

No customer service

Cheap mobile but unreliable communication

Cheap $10 month Mobile plan good for me as I cant use it at home.
ISSUE 1: they don't keep records of your communication. Cant trust agreements made by phone or chat. You must keep a record when possible.
ISSUE 2: I temporarily changed to bigger plan for 1 month when travelling. They said I could easily change back. This wasn't true. Could not do via chat as they refused to believe I had been on the cheaper plan, despite sharing documentation. It seemed possible by phone & they assured me that I had been changed back to my normal, cheap plan, but they continued to charge me for the bigger plan. I finally managed, 2 months later via Facebook chat

they have great packages which are different and better.
the quality of the delivered wifi and broadband is excellent.

Worst company!!

Had a 2 year contract with phone. Phone would not work a year through. Complained numerously to have it fixed, and to no avail. After hours of waiting on the phone to be answered. Arguments over paying when I shouldn't pay for a phone that was broken!

Fast forward nearly 5 years and they have put a credit default without telling me all this years ago! Spent 3 1/2 hours of my life trying to organise it lifted. Couldn't find my file, found my file and CANNOT even give me payment details to pay to even have it lifted. Super glad as to why I got rid of this service in the first place and remember exactly what it is like all those years ago dealing with this company!!!!!

The best thing that has happened to Mobile Networks

Southern phone provide a very high standard of service both in terms of their network and also their customer service. On the few occasions I have had to talk to them it was wonderful to hear an Australian voice located in Australia and to have my concern addressed immediately. Terrible to deal with - weeks to respond to 'chat' messages as uncontactable by phone

I over a period of weeks tried to call to cancel a mobile service no longer used, and the wait times were over 30 - 40 minutes, so eventually used the 'contact us via chat' option on the website. It wook 2 goes and a long time to get a 'final bill' (which was in credit' that confirmed it had been cancelled - followed by around 5 emails all asking 'Request #43***** "Contact Us" was closed and merged into this request. Last comment in request #4301**: Then over a month I get a invoice for $8 - which nearly 4 weeks after querying as there should have been no charge, contacted by with them sayign it was a 'port out fee'.Which we did not do - number was cancelled not 'ported out'. Unbelievable and still not resolved.
