Lack of communication.These guys can't organise anything.
They have been holding up my NBN connection. They give you a number to call back but never answer. They didn't even tell me about the NBN coming and I got a message 2 days after to tell me of the appointment.
I have now been 2 months without home internet. Do not bother with this company.

their 5$ plan is a total rip off firstly I am charged on some hidden cost that no one is responding why (coz basically there is no customer service). Be mindful they'll charge you 8$ when you want to cancel the plan! Apart from that they charge 10$ on a 5$ late payment!!! it's not dishonest, but fraudulent!!! I have a direct debit arrangement with the company yet my last bill showed a late payment fee??When I contacted them, they said they will investigate. I specifically requested a call back - not email or SMS- as I needed to raise other concerns if this was indeed an error from their end. I was assured they will ring me back. However. I instead got a short SMS stating they had invoicing issues and will do a refund.
I'm now wondering how this will affect my credit rating and how many other clients have been affected but just haven't noticed the late payment fee on their bill! Show details

I've been with Southern Phones for 1 Month.I wasn't Aware 1300 Numbers Weren't Free.
First Couple of Days I had an account for $6:17, no idea what it was for.
Speeds Aren't Optus Speeds!

Internet has Been Totally Gone on A Number of Occasions.
I had to call them to pay my second (first) full bill, as the "Pay Feature" in there site was "Grey Out".
There Login & Vetification Code is Quite Boring. ( App Required)
OPTUS PRICES FOR A SERVICE THAT'S NOT 100%
I Also Noticed that "Data Usage" they claim I use about 7gb per day.

. Have you completed a power cycle with your modem? This is turning it off at the power point for 10 minutes, then turning it back on and allowing a further 15 minutes to reconnect it. This just allows your connection to refresh and often fixes connection issues. very bad communication
ive been with this company for about 20 years, through the years the internet and phone service has been very frustrating, finally in the last year or so it has been fairly good but trying to get them on the phone, you cant you have to phone back again and again, and you have to wait sometimes 6 hrs, today only 32 minutes, also the line is very scratchy, the phone attendants are not experienced. i keep saying I'm going to find another provider but this time I'm going to do it.Hi, Thank you for advising us on your experience with us. NBN is not very good keeps dropping out, when you try to contact southern phones you are put on hold for over an hour then you are hung up on. When you do get onto customer service they do not offer any help to fix the issue, customer service response is you need to speak to technical. They do not offer to transfer to that department, they do not offer any help at all. We have been affected by numerous NBN Co. Fibre Optic cable break outages in the past few weeks, which have caused major ongoing disruptions for customers across multiple states of Australia. This has been frustrating for us as well, as this has caused significantly longer than normal wait times. This has made it very difficult to speak to other customers,and resolve issues for those customers that are being affected by non-related issues. Absolutely hopeless!!!! Constantly no wifi and they just say ‘we know there is a problem in your area we will get onto it soon’. Then we are left with no Wifi for days even up to a week!!! I’ve been with Southern Phone for a few years now and recently needed assistance after incurring additional charges for excess data usage (I’m on a 1GB plan). I went to their web portal to check usage and found that the graph on the previous 12 months usage showed no data usage whatsoever which was quite frustrating as you need to be able to monitor data usage when close to your limit.I lodged a complaint 5 weeks ago and still no acceptable response or offer of restitution. After years of problems with my landline service, long periods of no service at all , usually following rain, and poor voice quality when it did work, I eventually contacted Southern Phone and asked they disconnect the landline and close my account.At the time I owed around $28 and I told them that I considered it fair and reasonable that Southern Phone carry this small cost in recognition of the lack of service, that I had regularly paid for a service we did not receive , and the frustration of endlessly trying to have the problems resolved.... Attempting to contact SP through their call centre is a fruitless task, with very long waits often to be timed out putting you back to the start of the queue This is in stark contrast to the early days of SP when a major selling point, for me at least, was you always got to speak to someone in this country and without delay. I have just now lodged a complaint with the Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman hoping to get this ridiculous situation resolved. Does Southern Phone really think that they can continue to charge a dissatisfied ex-customer, if they just pretend that he isn’t? Unbelievable.
