Very poor customer service
Products are fine
Prices are fine
Delivery is very slow and the after sales help is very poor. I have no follow up after several contacts via email phone and facebook
Once you've set up your automatic order, talking to a human is impossible
I have had an automated order with specsavers for a long time, but the minute you try to cancel via phone or online form, they make it damn near impossible. They put you through the 'select this' routine on the phone and then just cut you off. No one responds to online forms except the autoresponder. Charming!
It was not easy.
This is the worst sight to order online I have ever experienced.
I had hassles last time too but managed to get thru it not to mention the hassle I had with getting my health fund to pay.
This time even more useless to order on line.
Until they improve this I will be ordering in store.
Buying Contact lens
Ordered lenses got an email after 2 weeks saying my order was delayed indefinitely- refused to refund until it was shipped date unknown... I called my bank to contest this fee which my bank was happy do given the circumstances (would recommend doing the same)
wonthagi spec savers are uselees do not use this place very infcompetent staff have school students doing and operating eye testing machines which a qualiied optometrist should do do not go thare they are very incompetent
Worse service ever
Put an order through and been trying to talk to them for 2 days. Their phone service has some technical difficulties. Totally unacceptable. Pay a little more and go somewhere else. Their customer service is frustrating.
Very disappointed with SpecSavers
I thought I’d try spec savers in Warragul to get the bi-annual eye test (first time using this franchise) and glasses. I had heard it was quite cheap for glasses. Compared to my usual private shop in Doncaster the test went ok if a bit hurried, the woman could have been a bit more precise and careful in her manner because getting the right prescription is very important and personal, so I wonder if it went ok. The glasses service is very poor. There are not many styles to choose from. When fitting the glasses, another woman gave them back to me...still hot so that they burnt the top of my nose. Now they are too loose but I don’t want to go back there as I feel that they don’t really care about making sure that the customer is completely happy and not burnt! My sister went to Warragul SpecSavers and had to be retested at the Doncaster shop, and she found that SpecSavers had not measured her sight precisely and correctly. The saying you get what you pay for is just so true and I am now wondering if I should get retested at the Doncaster shop. I will NEVER go back to this shop again. It’s a very cheap and nasty option for people who can’t afford a better service.

Specsavers Online - Anti-Customer Service Defined, IMHO
If it were not for the fact that I save a bunch of money by buying my contact lenses in bulk from this lot, I wouldn't have anything to do with them. And if I find the same goods cheaper elsewhere I will drop them faster than 4th period French. Considering how slow and clunky their website is, I'll have plenty of time to do that.
First, they won't deliver to PO boxes. Yes, at the moment a lot of people are still working from home but the virus won't last forever and when it ends, people might be at home, they might be at their workplace, they ...might be at a customer's, wherever. However a PO Box is always there 24/7 ready and willing to receive goods. That alone speaks volumes about Specsavers sub-standard service; their convenience is more important than yours. Second, there is NO contact system on the website. No customer support chat, no phone number, no support e-mail, just a buried online feedback form which leads who knows where and which demands your date of birth. (Which is the 12th of none of your business, in the year of our lord 1900 and identity theft.) No company should EVER demand your date of birth. IMHO it should be illegal for any company to require it. If you doubt this, do a web search for the expression "Specsavers web site hacked" and read the articles that turn up at your leisure. Next it gives you the Big! News! That you can now pay through PayPal! Great! Personally I'm boycotting PayPal for reasons that I won't go into and aren't relevant here. But you can still pay with your credit card, yes? Sort of. You can't do it through the Paypal option; that forces you to create a Paypal account. There is NO option to enter your credit card details on a one-off basis. Instead you have to add your credit card details to a "wallet" and agree to have them stored on the Specsavers site. (Again, see "Specsavers web site hacked".) Generally, I do not want ANY supplier storing my credit card details and feel a seething resentment toward any supplier that tries to force you down that path. And what happens when you do store the card details in your wallet? Specsavers slugs you with a $0.10 service charge. Yes, it's a lousy $0.10. But the fact that YOU are expected to finance THEIR failure to provide payment systems that are part of the furniture on almost every website on the planet again points to Specsavers level of customer service, which I would rate as being non-existent. Fourth, I had been going to a private optometrist for years until earlier this year when a combination of me moving home and job made that impractical. I therefore made what in retrospect was probably a mistake and went to my local Specsavers with the details of my contact lens prescription, since I had almost run out of lenses at the time. Them: "Oh, we can't sell you those unless we give you an eye test". (Yes, the apparently imaginary "law" that is mentioned in a lot of other reviews came into play.)

Can not even order glasses with specsavers
Could not order glasses I wanted online as prescription could not be used, even the prescription is from a specsavers store!
Quality of lenses is low and they scratch so easy even keeping them in face or in the box! But I guess they want you to spend money in glasses every year no? But if you like a frame will not be able to get same next time as most of glasses are just batch imports.
I think will be taking business somewhere else with family as specsavers is not really holding the quality of the glasses for the big prices they charge on lens options...

Never any Problems
For the first time I placed an phone order from a different Specsavers after choosing frames online and trying them on virtually. I emailed the prescription. This was one of 2 Melbourne stores with my desired frames. They fit beautifully. No need to have them fitted instore. I have bought specs from my local Specsavers for the last 8 years. I have had single lenses, multifocal, transitional and tinted. Never any problems. Very happy.

Never mind the quality, feel the width!
I have purchased my last 4 pairs of glasses from this shop. I lost a plastic bridge pad on my last pair so went back to have it fixed. "We don't have those here, there are two other places (optometrists) that way and one the other way"! Went to OPSM and they repaired them for free - Please take note Specsavers, this is the way to treat your customers!!!
Great online shopping experience
I had a great online shopping experience with Specsavers: places my order on Wednesday around noon and got it delivered on Friday at 11 am. Navigation on website is user-friendly. Thank you!

They'll take your money for products unavailable, but won't let you cancel
Specsavers online ordering, they'll let you order and make you wait 2-3 weeks. They simply don't tell you products are out of stock. They claim to have some tiny small print hidden in their terms and conditions. Once you order they say they can't cancel an order. You call up and get told the same, even though the products are out of stock and backorder from Germany. So they are dropshippers, easy to see why I should have used my normal website, but was drawn in with a 10% discount, never again.
Why can't they cancel orders that haven't even been fulfilled yet?
Bad Customer Service; not interested in fixing problems
Not recommended. Got my online contact lenses wrong but took ages to agree to fix it. Staff are dis-interested, took many days to revert and drip feed information, lots of back and forth communication. Inefficient

Awful customer service - don't purchase with them!!!
I should have read all of these reviews and not ordered through Specsavers - they are TERRIBLE!
I bought contact lenses from Specsavers Online specifically because I needed them quickly and the listing stated they were in stock. 1.5 weeks go by with no shipping notification nor any communication that there is an issue or otherwise. I followed up by email multiple times and was completely ignored - literally can't even give a customer the decency of a response who simply asks what is going on with their order.
A further week later they marked ...the order as shipped, but from the tracking the package hadn't been sent. They must think customers don't actually look at the tracking to see the status is only that the label has been created, but the shipment itself hasn't been sent. So they're trying to pretend that it's sent when it's really not. It was many many days later that the package was actually eventually sent. After many weeks of delay, the package eventually arrived. And the whole time they never responded to my emails once. It's not rocket science to operate a business where you keep your promises (ie. ship out an item that you claim is in stock) and treat your customers with a tiny bit of respect to not completely ignore them why their order hasn't been shipped after weeks of delay. This was simply terrible customer service.
Questions & Answers
I have lost the arm to a pair of Carla Zampatti sunglasses. It was broken , the screw came out and it fell off in the street.
I notice specsavers are still selling styles with the same arm. Is it possible to just buy a replacement arm?
if you take it into store a lot of the time they can replace the arm free of charge but it depends on the extent of the damage
How much is it for an eye test and a reasonable pair of prescription glasses for some one 60 years old
will specsavers answer please second comment no response
Eye test is fully covered by medicare but if you are private it’s usually around $70. In regards to price it would depend on whether you are single vision or multifocal and if you want any other lense coatings like superclean or thinning etc.
I have had 2 eye tests done 3 month's apart 1 with Specsavers and 1 with another opticians
They are quite different in results which leaves me wondering who's scrip to use??
I was very unimpressed with Castle Towers Specsavers. The manager seemed professional & helpful when I approached him, but the staff member who was meant to advise me, was completely dismissive. We have been with OPSM for 20 years & had hoped Specsavers might be a little less costly - so I tried them. To no avail - a very disappointing experience, due to staff disinterest!
