Specsavers Online - Anti-Customer Service Defined, IMHO
If it were not for the fact that I save a bunch of money by buying my contact lenses in bulk from this lot, I wouldn't have anything to do with them. And if I find the same goods cheaper elsewhere I will drop them faster than 4th period French. Considering how slow and clunky their website is, I'll have plenty of time to do that.
First, they won't deliver to PO boxes. Yes, at the moment a lot of people are still working from home but the virus won't last forever and when it ends, people might be at home, they might be at their workplace, they ...might be at a customer's, wherever. However a PO Box is always there 24/7 ready and willing to receive goods. That alone speaks volumes about Specsavers sub-standard service; their convenience is more important than yours. Second, there is NO contact system on the website. No customer support chat, no phone number, no support e-mail, just a buried online feedback form which leads who knows where and which demands your date of birth. (Which is the 12th of none of your business, in the year of our lord 1900 and identity theft.) No company should EVER demand your date of birth. IMHO it should be illegal for any company to require it. If you doubt this, do a web search for the expression "Specsavers web site hacked" and read the articles that turn up at your leisure. Next it gives you the Big! News! That you can now pay through PayPal! Great! Personally I'm boycotting PayPal for reasons that I won't go into and aren't relevant here. But you can still pay with your credit card, yes? Sort of. You can't do it through the Paypal option; that forces you to create a Paypal account. There is NO option to enter your credit card details on a one-off basis. Instead you have to add your credit card details to a "wallet" and agree to have them stored on the Specsavers site. (Again, see "Specsavers web site hacked".) Generally, I do not want ANY supplier storing my credit card details and feel a seething resentment toward any supplier that tries to force you down that path. And what happens when you do store the card details in your wallet? Specsavers slugs you with a $0.10 service charge. Yes, it's a lousy $0.10. But the fact that YOU are expected to finance THEIR failure to provide payment systems that are part of the furniture on almost every website on the planet again points to Specsavers level of customer service, which I would rate as being non-existent. Fourth, I had been going to a private optometrist for years until earlier this year when a combination of me moving home and job made that impractical. I therefore made what in retrospect was probably a mistake and went to my local Specsavers with the details of my contact lens prescription, since I had almost run out of lenses at the time. Them: "Oh, we can't sell you those unless we give you an eye test". (Yes, the apparently imaginary "law" that is mentioned in a lot of other reviews came into play.)

Can not even order glasses with specsavers
Could not order glasses I wanted online as prescription could not be used, even the prescription is from a specsavers store!
Quality of lenses is low and they scratch so easy even keeping them in face or in the box! But I guess they want you to spend money in glasses every year no? But if you like a frame will not be able to get same next time as most of glasses are just batch imports.
I think will be taking business somewhere else with family as specsavers is not really holding the quality of the glasses for the big prices they charge on lens options...
Wont be back!
Poor quality frames and lenses - thats why they are cheap. Will not be purchasing any products from there again. Staff could not answer my questions about the lenses - they just shrugged and said didnt know the answer and Id have to contact the lab. Useless!

Specsavers Online: Shocking Cancellation Policy
Ordered contacts online with them. Shocked to find out that you can't cancel your order even immediately just after placing it. Customer service on the phone reiterated "you can't cancel even if you placed your order 10 seconds" ago.
If you are going to have shocking and unusual policies like that, may have them shown at the checkout stage so customers know what they are getting into. Just bizarre.
You know this is 2017 right?
Disappointing experience online
I recently placed an order with Specsavers online for my contact lenses. I have purchased from them before and the price was cheaper than other stores.
I placed my order on 19 Dec, and it then took 2 days for my order to be posted. This meant it was by then the 21st and with the Christmas public holidays (and the surprise Aus Post holiday on Wednesday), I was expecting to receive my parcel by the end of the week. Unfortunately I haven't received my parcel and with no tracking number provided (which I find very poor as all parcels now come w...ith tracking by default, a basic expectation when buying online these days and especially for high value items), I have no idea where it might be. I emailed Specsavers and raised my concerns on the 29th and was sent a response saying that my order had been dispatched (yeah I know that already, I attached the email that told me that) and it 'should' arrive by the end of the week. No further assistance in finding out where my parcel might actually be in the process, just instructed to call if it hadn't arrived, or alternative options provided. Well I did call at 6PM on Friday, and was told by the recorded message that I had called outside of business hours which are "8.30 to 6.30 Monday to Friday". I did call within business hours by Specsavers' own definition and was met with no answer. I'm now without contact lenses until my parcel turns up, and who knows when that might be. Wouldn't purchase from them again.
Questions & Answers
I have lost the arm to a pair of Carla Zampatti sunglasses. It was broken , the screw came out and it fell off in the street.
I notice specsavers are still selling styles with the same arm. Is it possible to just buy a replacement arm?
if you take it into store a lot of the time they can replace the arm free of charge but it depends on the extent of the damage
How much is it for an eye test and a reasonable pair of prescription glasses for some one 60 years old
will specsavers answer please second comment no response
Eye test is fully covered by medicare but if you are private it’s usually around $70. In regards to price it would depend on whether you are single vision or multifocal and if you want any other lense coatings like superclean or thinning etc.
I have had 2 eye tests done 3 month's apart 1 with Specsavers and 1 with another opticians
They are quite different in results which leaves me wondering who's scrip to use??
I was very unimpressed with Castle Towers Specsavers. The manager seemed professional & helpful when I approached him, but the staff member who was meant to advise me, was completely dismissive. We have been with OPSM for 20 years & had hoped Specsavers might be a little less costly - so I tried them. To no avail - a very disappointing experience, due to staff disinterest!
