Costly, but near perfect washing machine.
Purchased a month ago and so far so good. This washer is extremely well built, with a solid metal cabinet and lid. I love the simple, no-fuss operation and solid feel of the rotary selector knobs. I've been using the machine on full-load only at this stage and using "normal" wash setting, and a typical wash takes only about 25 minutes to complete which is remarkably fast. The washer is much quieter than our previous Fisher-Paykel Smart Drive, which disappointingly died after only 6 years of typical family-of-four use. Another positive is that s...o far the Speed Queen has never gone out of balance during the spin cycle, which the Fisher-Paykel did quite often. There are however a couple of very minor nit picks. Speed Queen recommends putting your powder/detergent liquid into the wash bowl before the clothes, which takes getting used to. With my old machine you loaded the clothes first and added detergent via a dispenser after, which I prefer, but it's not a deal breaker. The other thing I noticed is that the Speed Queen doesn't seem to get as much water out of the clothes during the spin cycle, meaning it takes a little bit longer to dry them afterwards. I'm not certain this is the case, but my wife agrees that the clothes come out ever-so-slightly damper than our old machine. In the end the decision to buy the Speed Queen came down to its reputation for reliability. We have one at work (in a group home) where it is used twice a day, every day, and has never failed in the 9 years I've been there. Hopefully the Speed Queen will last for 20 to 30 years, which if it does will make it well worth the purchase price.

Will always be loyal to Speedqueen
Finally put the old Kleenmaid (Speedqueen) machine out to pasture after 30 years. We always planned to purchase another Speedqueen and have not been disappointed. We actually were encouraged (by Speedqueen) to repair our old machine and when it didn't work, they refunded us the parts so we bought a new one. They offered great support and service over the phone and the installation of the new machine was very professional. Quiet and effective washing machine that we are confident will last for decades.

Great value, great cleaning & user friendly to boot.
Love these machines - previous one lasted 26 years - hope this one's as good! So far we're loving it - copes with delicates & bulk items like sheets etc beautifully. Easy to operate, even change settings after starting, and fast cycles times.

I’m just about to sell my Speed Queen top loader, which fills me with regret.
I’ve down sized and it doesn’t fit into my smaller home.
It’s four years old and has never missed a beat.
It just does one thing really well - and that’s your laundry.
Despite not having a lint filter, I’ve never had any trouble with residue or tangling - everything comes out well washed and well spun.
Loading it is easy as I don’t have to bend over, as is adding more clothing mid cycle. A quick wash is done in 30-45 minutes, and a high efficiency load in 90 minutes. Too easy.
No electronics or plastic.
This machine will be sorely missed.

Outstanding clothes washer
The industrial strength washer lives up to ALL the hype!
I’m more in love with my Speed Queen was her today, than when I got it!
Sturdy in design, sturdy in its washing capacity. I have cut down to only 3 loads a week, including my queen sheet sets in one load! Never, ever have I had problems with it
Friends are sick to death of me raving about my love of my speed queen washer.
This washing machine is mis-named. It should be called Speed King! Top of the wash in every respect! And I really mean it -- top of the wash in every respect!
Love my new washer
Our clothes are often covered in dirt and dust that comes from being on a farm dealing with drought, fire and if we're lucky mud. Speed Queen makes easy work of getting the dirt out. I only wish there was a sud save feature so that water from clothes not so dirty could be recycled back into machine. At present I do this with a bucket from the laundry sink. Water is a precious resource and we should be smarter about how we use it.

Love this washing machine, It outperforms any other machine I have every owned. Just wish I purchased one years ago :)
I wash really dirty mens work clothes Truck / Farm workers.
Love the easy basic controls settings.
Clean wash every time even the delicates.
Excellent cycle time - Love it has the extra long cycle for clothes that need to be soaked.

A good machine for everyday washing needs
I had a Maytag machine for many years and it served us well with 3 sons with sporting gear etc as well as our normal washing. But when I couldn’t get another Maytag I purchased my first Speed queen machine many years ago. It did serve us well but after many years I needed to replace it and of course I purchased another. I’m sure this machine will out see just my husband and I for many years too. The only thing I find a bit strange is the noise when you use the delicate cycle, my other machine was not so noisy but it does the job well.
Everything I Dreamed of and More
I am over the moon with my new Speed Queen Top Loader. I have known for a long time this is what I wanted to purchase for my next washing machine and it hasn’t disappointed. Great load capacity, so easy to operate (just press the start button), very short wash program time and it is washing beautifully. You can tell it is heavy duty and well made and I hope to great longevity from it and it will be well worth the cost. I ordered it from Winning Appliances at Brookvale at 3pm in the week leading up to Christmas. I had a phone call at 4pm from a ...lovely lady at the Speed Queen distributor office to arrange delivery and it was installed by lunchtime the next day. FABULOUS service. The young guy who installed it was very professional, answered all my questions, gave me tips for use and took the old machine and all packaging away.(I did pay $30 included in my total for this). I am very happy with the machine and the whole process so far. I was personally emailed and reminded to register for my warranty and asked how everything was going so far. I wish every product purchase was this easy and satisfying.
Commercial grade quality heavy duty washer.
Simple to operate, designed to last for many years, this machine is solid and weighs almost 100kg, baked enamel wash tub (not plastic) with a non magnetic grade stainless steel spin basket. I did my research on what I wanted and this fits the bill perfectly, no annoying electronic controls or beeping speakers. Just a commercial grade quality built machine that does a great job of what it is made to do, simply wash things clean and it does it quickly without ever going out of balance. A little on the expensive side but well worth the price considering the life expectancy, parts availability and reputation of the company. It's now over 12 months since purchase and we are very happy with it.
Fantastic product-works like a dream
I purchased the computerised version in August 2016 from a Speed Queen outlet based in Sydney & although the price was $2725 I have no regrets whatsoever. Prior to this machine I had a MAYTAG & before that the good old faithful Hoover. This machine is used almost daily & I am particularly impressed with the way it handles big loads like coverlets & mattress protectors which I like to wash regularly. I love the sturdiness of the machine & the fact that it just keeps on going. Apart from a minor computer glitch where the machine keep turning off...at the main switch (which was fixed under warranty) I haven't looked back. Support staff are on the ball & provide the service you would expect. Would I recommend a Speed Queen? Absolutely, the others just don't come up to par.

Off to a bad start, but working okay now
We initially purchased our 7.5 kg Commercial Speed Queen washing machine AWNA62-301 for $2295 from Retravision Rockingham in April 2019. We received it from the Speed Queen agent (Costello’s Osborne Park) four days later.
At the time it was delivered, the box was badly damaged and taped up in several places. However the machine itself seemed unmarked, so I dismissed my initial concerns. The set up instructions were clear and comprehensive and we followed the installation checklist to a T (take out the shipping brace and plug, connect the h...oses, level the machine etc.) The machine worked perfectly for the first 12 minutes of use until it got to the part of the cycle where it should have drained - and then there was just silence. After about 2 minutes of sitting there doing nothing, it started to try and spin the clothes, sloshing water around. Then it stopped trying to spin, and the “in use” light started flashing three times repetitively indicating a fault code. When you pay over $2000 for a commercial quality, name brand appliance that promotes itself as reliable, you don't expect it to break down the first time you do a load of washing in it! To say that I was disappointed is an understatement. I felt ripped off. My husband contacted the Speed Queen tech when he got home from work. The tech was polite, but none of his over the phone suggestions could coerce the machine to drain. Our brand new machine then sat full of smelly water for almost a week before the tech could come and fix it.
Have had our Speed Queen for 3 years now and I don't regret spending the extra $$. Easy to use and wash cycle times are great. A very strong and sturdy machine and I can see it lasting a good 20 plus years

Honestly best washing machine on the market.
Wow - Couldn't be happier with this machine, easy to use, quite running and does a GREAT job of washing all our household clothes/items. This is the second Speed Queen washer we have purchased and LOVE it.
The first one has given us twenty eight years of trouble free service and still runs fine with a couple of creeks and groans occasionally ( like me LOL ) and will be put in our garage to do dog beds and car covers which this machine handles with ease. Whilst the purchase price is not the cheapest on the market, its definately value for money long term and does a awesome job for years and years. Strongly recommend this washer to family and friends.

Top quality product
Washed through a 210 degree agitator stroke action The most gentle top loader I have dealt with Very reliable gearbox and a powerful 1/3 hp motor makes this the main top loader of choice for the discerning user I have sold many of these to customers and NEVER had a complaint
The best quality washer I have ever had
This machine washes all types of clothes perfectly. I wash everything from delicates to oiled and soiled work clothes. The wash cycles fit the type of wash I do without causing pilling which is a bonus. Its nice to know that which ever cycle I choose the clothes come out clean and are washed with care. Easy to use with no fuss instructions just set and forget.
My last Speed Queen washer lasted for 33 years. Finally it developed a leak and was showing a few rust spots so I decided to look for another one. Over the time that I had it I only had to do a few minor repairs. A hose, fan belt and a solenoid. Most of this in the later years. It was very easy to maintain and parts were easy to get.
I was surprised to note that not much has changed. The new one looks similar, is exactly the same size and has simple controls. They are more expensive and bit noisier than some others but if this one lasts as well as the first one then I will have no complaints.
Didn't meet my expectations
To start with was a great machine and washes cloths well. Reason for the expensive purchase was the 20yo parents in law lasting 20+ years, so I thought I'm sold. First year no dramas then the hot water solenoid stopped working after this fine for another twelve months then the cycle selector played up and wouldn't go through cycles have been through another since then. Now on my second leaking water pump and is again not draining and finishing cycle (also smelt something electrical burning) unsure what to do it's about 7yo so out of warrenty. thinking of tossing it out and going with a cheaper brand.

Speed Queen AWNA62
I have just bought this Speed Queen Washer recently and to my knowledge it does a good job of washing my clothes. I think the wash cycle on a regular load is a bit short with only 7 minutes, but as I haven't had any really dirty clothes to wash, it seems fine for the clothes I've done. The best thing about the machine is its large tub. I should be able to wash my polar fleece blankets in it without difficulty, which I wasn't able to do with my previous machine. In my opinion the worse thing about the machine is not knowing how far you are throu...gh the wash cycle. My old machines dial used to move around through the wash, rinse and spin cycle, so you knew how far it was in the cycle. The Speed Queen doesn't do that. I will be able to tell in the future whether the clothes are as white as I would like and if the stains are removed properly over time. I haven't had it long enough to say about that yet.

Questions & Answers
Looking at purchasing SQ top loader query how it would work with gravity fed tank water ? Also l noted in the feed they have no lint filter ?
I pipe my grey water out to garden is there any issue with lint blocking pipes ?
This sounds like a question to ask SpeedQueen (too technical for me!). My experiences with customer support have always been positive and I have found them most helpful. They will give it to you straight. My communications were through their generic number and I'm in Sydney. I assume it would be the same for you. If you get someone who is not sure when you first ring, ask for their technical support. Good luck !!

Thank you for considering a Speed Queen for your next washer. Gravity fed water is ok providing you have head height greater than 2 metres (the tank outlet is at least 2mtrs above the laundry tap).
This should equate to approx. 25psi which is within the 20-120psi operating range of the machine.
Lint blockages are not an issue providing that the outlet is plumbed at the recommended height of 91cm and you use the correct 32mm extension piping and that the piping does not rise on its way to you garden. If you need further clarification you can call your nearest Speed Queen distributor on 1300927437
