Great customer service, bad internet service
I opted in for the NBN 100/20 plan which worked well until one person began downloading, then it dropped to 3/10. The customer service was great and tried to help every step of the way and Rhea helped me through most of my problems however some problems are just unfixable and are due to the ISP themselves. If you live alone or do not need constant fast speeds they are good to use as their ping is consistently low.
- NBN 50/20 (Plus 50)
This plan rarely hits the 50/20 speeds making the internet slow.
The connection is not that reliable it drops in and out sometimes. When we wanted to cancel the customer service representatives were very nice and understanding but made the process difficult and did not understand what we wanted after stating multiple times in messages we did not want to be billed for next month. Other times when we have called to sort out the speed issues the staff have been very accomodating and helpful but we just don't like NBN and will definitely avoid it in the future.
Internet dropping and not good response from company
For first two weeks worked ok. Yesterday 20.9.21
my meeting on Zoom constantly either cut off or being frozen in the picture for 3h.When contacted company they claimed as not to have record of such ourage .
Please fix the problem instead of giving advice about not using VPN .
NBN drops and Bad customer service
I had to comment so people avoid dealing with Spintel is all shapes and forms. The NBN50 that I got was in replacement for the sub-par 5G service that they upsold me. It has been a nightmare of problems and I'm still dealing with billing problems from this change over. Customer service does not keep a track of previous conversations so it is upon you as a customer to record a ticket number to reference everytime. They cannot simply bring up what was promised. They are do not have a local team they can escalate to, so in AUS they have just the o...perations and sales team. I have not even commented on the performance issues yet. This drops out every day or 2, my wifi router is new and have been reset every time the internet drops out. So if you are seeking to bounce between running your mobile hotspot and wifi router to reset and hope for your connection again then by all means take on this cheap plan. AVOID. Forgot to add I'm located in Sydney postcode 2017 if that is of relevance.
Never get what I pay for!!!!
Have had Spintel NBN 50/20 internet for about a year now, and I can honestly say I have NEVER had a 50mbps connection in this time. Sometimes in the low 40s, other times only 2 or 3mbps!!! NEVER have I got what I paid for, namely 50mbps. If they can't supply this speed, they should not sell it. My current speed as i type is 3mbps...... just 6% of the speed I am paying for. Being a Sunday evening they will be getting a nice early morning call tomorrow to get my money refunded!!! The government have vowed to fine companies for not supplying the correct speed.... the sooner the better!!!
Just upgraded to the 25 plan
Mum and two kids in the house. We stream everything and have multiple devices. Although sometimes the 12 plan would work it just got to frustrating and I decided to upgrade to the 25 plan.
Customer service is always easy to deal with and clarify any questions I have. I would recommend them.
Awful experience with this company
Their NBN100 never got over 50mbps and then when I downgraded to NBN50 it barely reached 38mbps. They also send bills way in advance and fast. In barely 5 weeks with them I spent $130+ on a modem, $14+ on a part bill, $74 on a monthly bill and they wanted another $74 barely a fortnight after that. I disconnected immediately. The chat bot is also hopeless and when I finally did get through to someone, it took over half an hour of chat to get disconnected..absolutely horrible, I won't be using their services again and I shouldn't be paying the $74 you keep chasing me for.
It's fine but a lot of hassle.
I brought my existing modem over from Tangerine. Spintel has been both good and bad. Speed is good (90mbps for DL), customer service is average (I was told by Sales that they can't communicate to Tech Support that I don't need an additional technician to be sent to install the service that has already been installed). So I'm now wasting hours of my day trying to fix an issue (I've contacted them 4 times about this issue so far), because they don't have an internal communications system. Anyway aside from this, I've asked them to call me, appar...ently they can't phone me even though I've successfully received phone calls from other numbers throughout the day and have tested my mobile, which is definitely working. I am regretting not going with Aussie Broadband. Furthermore, during setup of my service yesterday, it took on average 30 minutes for me to reach their tech support team each time I phoned (3 times). Huge wait times and also no immediate chat support (also has lengthy wait times).
The service is not just what I expected. Low price - low Performance.
Just not what I expected. Maybe, it is my fault. Nevertheless, the service was not what I expected. There are so many companies offering the same or similar services. It is often very difficult to find out what is best. Some companies are here today and gone tomorrow.
Frequent outages, but dedicated customer support
The connection itself is incredibly unreliable, we're having issues weekly at minimum. But despite the issues with the service itself, I can only sing the praises of the customer support team that always goes above and beyond to resolve our problems. Thanks Joie!
Poor internet, debarcle to leave and debited credit card for future month, when not providing a service.
I was a loyal customer for 10+ years! Our internet connection was often dodgy and we blamed the weather - we had mixed experience between good / not good customer service. We just had a particularly bad outage and it was our house alone - we were faced with many conversations trying to 'prove' ourselves. It was a problem at the exchange. That was the last straw, so we decided to leave Spintel. The new service provider was met with error messages when trying to port our home number.. this caused delays. We chose to go with a new number instead...(what a hassle!) This all happened between 6th - 15th Jan. We received our new modem 15th Jan and our new sevice provider said there was problems at the exchange, we tried our Spintel modem and it didn't work, so we believed we'd switched and now had to await the new ISP to fix the issue. We were up and running on the 18th. Today I see my Credit Card has been debited for another month by Spintel. I have contacted them to be met with a very sanctimonious response of they 'apologise for the experience but are going to stick to the T&C's' that they can bill me for a future month because my connection switched on my billing day. Spintel caused days of delay which is why my ISP couldn't take over the service any earlier. So they cause the delay and charge me for a future month of Internet / Phone services that they are not providing!!!! Go with another ISP.... Oh and it raining cats n dogs today and not a blib on my new internet service - shouldn't have put up with years of rainy day dropouts!

Unavailable and customer service at the weekend and poor NBN speed
My NBN device broke on Saturday afternoon during the storm. It started blinking and making a continuous clicking noise. Yet, we could not report it because Spintel does not work on Saturdays after 17:00. The broadband is an utility though in particular when people work from home. But Spintel does not work on Sundays either, except “online”. But how to report a broken line online? We had to use our mobile broadband as such.
I asked them to call me on my mobile. They didn't, but they asked me again to send them online a picture of the NBN devic...
No better than previous adsl provider.
No need to refer to so-called speed tests... they have little bearing on real time loading of web pages etc. We all with a little or much tech knowledge know that.
Firstly once on a page, linked downloads do occur quicker; as expected.
HOWEVER there is always an 6-10 second pause once a url is activated before the page content begins to be plotted on the screen.
Admittedly most pages once loading do load quickly, but the initial pause NO MATTER WHICH SERVER has been accessed makes the "50" plan almost laughable. Even my own web sites suffer ...the same. I'm sure spintels other plans suffer the same fate. One other standout on the same theme is using google search. One gets the usual list of results many of which are in the form of simple one line results on which one must click to load a panel of explanation.

Questions & Answers
Does this service provide free phone service from landline to local phone services and mobile phones
Hi Hilary, If you have an NBN service with us and you want to add/choose a landline service along with it, you can get Unlimited Local & National Calls to the landline number across Australia. If you want UNLIMITED calls to Australian local, national and mobile numbers you need to add a $10 plan (VoIP/Phone) along with your NBN plan.
