Not so splendid kitchens
I had similar experience to another reviewer...took 3 months to install a small kitchen.. Reason the project manager got measurements wrong, the installer put handles in wrong spot and had to replace doors, the doors were not what I ordered and finally the project manager left us hanging. Then we got a new project manager assigned who was hopeless! Avoid!!!
November 7th 2017 Update: Misleading - Hinges are not Blum
I am compelled to warn people that this company mislead me about their hinges!!! After only a couple of years following the i...
Read morenstallation of my kitchen a Door hinge just broke. I was told by the splendid kitchen sales person during his pitch that they only use Blum hinges but this is not the case. They use cheap Chinese hinges that look similar. I found this out because I tried to replace with a Blum hinge ($30) and it didn’t fit! The hinges they use are called eurofit ($6) cheap Chinese replicas. Google it!! Not happy!!!Avoid at all costs
Installed faulty stove. Had to go to vcat to rectify. They have replaced stove under vcat order but have still not complied with the second ruling. Kitchen is only three years old but the sink tap has already rusted out. Stay away
Not so splendid
The guy who did the design was fantastic. Listened to what we wanted and designed a great kitchen. All downhill from there. installation took weeks not days...everyone shifted the blame and couldn't give us any dates for when installers would be back. We paid for Blume hinges to find they weren't all blume hinges. Lots of other errors. Had to chase installer out to the street as sliding bin wasn't screwed in...he said "oh did you want it screwed in?" Don't bother with this mob...

Please avoid these people!
During the sales process ([name removed]) I was promised the world. When it came to the instal ([names removed]) they were terrible with communication - often not bothering to return phone calls for days ore respond to emails. I required 4 bench tops, one of which had to be remade 3 times and was installed on attempt #3 despite it having a 4cm gap from the wall??? When asked about it I was told 'this was the best they could do'. This added to a number of issues with poor workmanship, damage to my apartment and just a general feeling of dealing ...
Read morewith absolute amateurs. Please stay away from these guys, they are rude, deliver a terrible standard of work and really dont seem to care if you are happy or not. Stuck with a kitchen that I dont like due to poor workmanship and misfitting pieces - looks cheap and nasty.Don't waste your money!
They asked 50% of payment up front and then a further 40% of the payment when the cupboards were delivered but were not installed. I found out it was illegal what they did. They supplied the cupboards with the wrong colour and they did not want to fix the sharp edges. They said they are not responsible for safety. After 12months the kitchen was still not finished. I also found out they were not registered builders. Keep away from them , they do not tell you the truth!
Nothing! Only the receptionist who had sympathy for me
Everything! Including hidden costs
Don't go with splendid kitchens
The initial salesman was great, it was downhill fro there. Poor planning, execution and delivery, ongoing issues with plumbing, ended up costing us much more $, valuable time and patience. We had to chase these guys to finish the work, no warranties were ever given to us for the appliances, the craftsmanship was awful, they didn't clean up after themselves, they scratches the hardwood.
Good sales person and reasonable quote
All the service, the final prospects- wonky countertop, unfinished drawers, poor handles, ongoing plumbing issues

Everything was fine when we first contacted and met the salesmen from Splendid Kitchens. Infact they were excellent and couldn't spend enough time in helping us design a Kitchen, Storage Area, and Bathroom Vanity. Indeed this is the area they excelled and why they managed to get more than one star and obtained our business.
From there on in things started to go bad. First realisation was when they wanted to change our storage doors from having a recessed handle system to small handles.... Structural reasons they claimed. Then the center...
Read more piece of our kitchen.. A small walk in Pantry and the only reason we signed up, Had the design changed after we paid our deposit...This time they claimed the fridges were too big allow the small walk in Pantry be built the way we had designed. After everything was fitted and our large fridge and freezer were installed I realised that there was at least 250ml of room extra for the Pantry, which may not seem like a lot, but in Kitchen terms it is. For some stupid reason I believed these excuses and now realise they were nothing but simple cost saving measures on their part. Especially the recessed handles on the storage area. To top it all off after a 12 day wait to have our splash back fitted, which actually didnt bother us to much... on the exact same day it was fitted we had a phone call asking when we would pay. Within 8 days we had a letter threatening legal action. I always figured that 14 days within completion was the standard procedure with these matters. I am intending to wait the full 14 days as I dont feel like paying straight away for the above reasons. So to sum up... only use this company if you are prepared for the cost saving changes on their part after you paid your 90 pct of the Total. I felt after paying 90 pct, that living with the changes was better than chasing the best part of 14K. Rock and a hard place is the term I think is most often used. Beware this company... it's the only bad experience I've had in my 200K plus renovation. Friendly capable salesmen and good reception staff. Changing vital parts of the Kitchen and Storage after 90pct of total was paid.Questions & Answers
I’m finding the project management of our ‘splendid’ kitchen quite unreliable. Long gaps with no work, then tradespeople expecting access at short notice, not turning up and not advising they aren’t coming. Is this a common experience or are we unlucky?
I am surprised. I had very smooth dealing with them. They finished my work in 3 days. I am pretty satisfied. I suggest you contact them and explain. I am sure they will do something to compensate.
Thanks Nitin - it’s 9 days since our old kitchen was demolished and no end in sight. For a small apartment kitchen with nothing fancy. Glad yours went well, maybe they’re inconsistent or you had a dif...
