No delivery, zero communication
I foolishly made a large order with Staples that came in at over $300. Their delivery timeframe, for orders placed before 3pm, is the next business day for most metro areas. I live in inner Melbourne and ordered at 10am on a Thursday but the weekend came and went, then the following Monday, and there was no sign of my order and no explanation from Staples. Online tracking simply showed it was in 'processing'.
Their online chat proved no help as I was referred to their phoneline. The agent on the phone informed me that my order had been 'blo...cked' but she couldn't tell me why. It later transpired that orders over $300 are deferred for additional checks which can extend delivery time by two business days. Staples has decided to keep that information secret. Nowhere is it mentioned on their website or in their terms. You just figure it out when your order doesn't arrive and you have to check. What a hopeless way to conduct business. So after being told this, and assured my order has been confirmed, it is still in processing and nowhere to be seen. Another weekend has now gone by and the product, which I needed over a week ago, is missing. You pay a price for what you save in cost, with this company. That cost is in confusion, disappointment and time. And it's not worth it. I'd never do business with them again.
Goods not delivered, no chat person available, email reply is nonsense.
My first order was supposed to be delivered but the Post Office has no record of it. Neither does Staples. The reply to my first email didn't come from Staples but from firstname.lastname@example.org:

Out of date food.
I ordered a packet of Vegemite portions ( 50) and a box of Honey portions ( 50). The vegemite portions arrived today ( 7/2/17) with a Best Before date of 3 Janaury 17. So they are already out of date. I assume that when the honey arrives it will also be stale Needless to say I won't be back.
Don't order school supplies
They guarantee next day delivery in the Sydney metro area. I've been waiting one week and still nothing has turned up. School has started and my child is still without their supplies. They keep telling me it has been dispatched and nothing arrives. Horrible! Don't believe the marketing spin they tell you about their commitment to fast delivery.
Ordered a surface pro 4 on the 12 of January Staples forgot to post it
I ordered a surface pro 4 on the 12 of January the estimated postage time was 5-7 days it hadn't arrived on the 22 so I tried to contact them. After 2 days of waiting they finally got back saying that we forgot to ship it it will arrive on the 8 of February. I would advise not to buy from Staples

Wrong Product Delivered 2 Days after ordering even with "Next Day Delivery" - Still haven't delivere
I have used used Staples for the first time this week and my experience has been far from acceptable and I still don't have the product I paid for!
Despite the promise of next day delivery, I placed my order hours before the 3pm cut-off on Monday 16th January to only receive delivery on 18th January. WORSE, the product delivered was not what I ordered!!
I immediately spoke with the customer service team that although polite were not willing to deliver the product with the urgency required and could say little more than they have marked it...urgent for the warehouse. Needing the product I ordered the day after I ordered it (17th January). Its now the 19th January and I've just been told the delivery will not be delivered until tomorrow 20th January. I have contracted and paid for a flooring specialist to apply the product I ordered and will now be penalized for changing the date within 24 hours for the second time. I would not recommend Staples to anyone.

An error on my part regarding a code I forgot to use was promptly and may I add cheerfully rectified during my phone call to Staples, to which I received a refund in full after paying the code discounted price.
My order arrived in 2 days, much sooner than I was expecting, adding to my already high opinion of the professional service I had received.
I will certainly be visiting Staples again in the future and will be recommending to all.

Misleading communications, still waiting on the items after 3 weeks
Ordered an item online on the 15th December, Staples informed me that it was "Shipped" on the 16th.
3 weeks later - still no item.
Sent a message to which they responded "Sorry we don't send to parcel lockers, as we need a signature" ... Oh and when we say shipped, we actually mean 'stock allocated' ... it doesn't mean we sent the thing! LOL!
(Yes, Staples, this is hilarious that you change the definition of the English language to suit you, it's also most amusing that you refuse to embrace the convenience of PO boxes and Parcel Locker...s because they don't provide Proof of Delivery .... except for the part where they do ... ). More fool me for thinking that something described as "shipped" was actually "shipped". More fool me also for thinking that I would be contacted if there was a problem, rather than only informing the customer 3 weeks after the order and then only because the customer queried the delivery status! I would have to be pretty desperate before I order something from your establishment again.
Misleading delivery information
Staples.com.au think it is ok to clearly on their website tell their customers that if they live in a metro area and place an order before 3pm on a business day, that the customer will receive the product the next business day.
I live in a metro area (Darwin) placed an order on their website, and received tracking information the next day, (when I was meant to receive the items) that they had been posted from Sydney.
I called up this morning about it, to be told that it was an estimated 6 business day delivery timetable, so an order pla...ced on a Monday would be received on Wednesday the following week. Hardly a next business day delivery. Staples declined to mention this when I placed the order and paid for it, there was no mention that they didn't have stock locally of the items I was purchasing, and no indication until the next afternoon that I wouldn't be receiving it for another week and a half.
Prompt delivery no issues, next day delivery. Cant fault them
Ordered on Monday morning, no issues with the purchase, delivery rang up on Tuesday morning asking me to come and collect, building facilities demanded the delivery went to loading bay instead of allowing the driver to park outside. Nice and easy if a little early.
Staples promise much, but deliver little to none. DO NOT USE STAPLES
The first time took 2 weeks to deliver what was promised as next day. The second and final time, its been 3 weeks and they still haven't bothered to communicate. The fact that they have their contact centre based in Phillipines tells you that they aren't interested in Service but $$$.
Will never use and recommend you don't use.
short use by and no return
I've just started a b& b. Purchased multiple products from staples, in bulk single serve portions. the longest use by was 4 month's, the shortest 6 weeks, I contacted them and they did nothing. Apparently I could return these products if use by less than 30 days, anyone want 90 vegemites?!
Changing account details
Have had an account with staples for a couple years - Almost impossible to change ANY info on account unless you speak to the account manager. 2 x numbers have been supplied to me to call the Account manager and both number iv been calling for 2 weeks just rings out. No voice mail. No voice to let me know iv called staples. just rings out.. certainty would not recommend. Yet I still get unwanted, unjustified invoices for payment, because info on account it incorrect and no one from staples customer services can fix the errors even though they can see the issues I'm experience..
Terrible service order never arrived
Absolutely TERRIBLE service I ordered some excercise books for son for school after 4 phone calls 2 weeks later I was told they were refunding me because they got lost in the mail. WHAT A JOKE they didn't seem to care at all and not even an offer to try and send them?? To make matters worse they initially put 4 different charges on my credit card and had to ring them several times to sort out. This company is a joke. I was hesitant about ordering off them in the first place as they only accepted credit card payment and now I know why. Never again.
Horrible service, don't use this company
Staples charged my account 4 times for one order. The order was for next day delivery, warning if coming from an 'alternative' site expect it to take at least a week! Even items coming from staples were not next day delivery. Customer service officer didn't even read my complaint email properly and nearly compounded the problems. 6 phone calls later I still only have 1/2 my order. Even [name removed] couldn't come up with an explanation as to all these problems.
[name removed] leaves the office for the day at lunchtime and customers have no manager to speak to and only customer service officers who refuse to touch any case she deals with!

Had a terrible time with Staples, lost my order, waited all day for promised delivery (didn't happen), wouldn't refund my money - had to go to Dept of Fair Trading - then finally had contact with Kylie, the only one there who has concern for customer service. Would only deal there again if I could deal directly with her.
