This is the office chair you need to invest in
After completing a lot of research on office chairs last year - when Covid hit - I purchased my first “big investment” office chair.
It’s a bit daunting spending over 1K on a chair without even trying it. I was certainly relieved when the long awaited wait was over and I got my chair. It came in 2 parts - which made the put together a simple click of the two parts. The cushions look really thin - so I wondered if it would be comfortable- My fears were squashed the moment I sat on it -absolute bliss!! Honestly so good. Hubby was a pit cranky at...
The Steelcase Leap 2 is a very comfortable chair and reasonable value for money. It is well constructed and looks good. Almost everything can be adjusted – backrest tilt and pressure required for tilt, height of lumbar support, lower back firmness; seat angle, seat depth and seat height; arm rest height, width, lateral angle and forward or back. I am 190cm and 84kg and like a relaxed seating posture and some of the adjustments are near to or at their limit; this is not an issue for me but may be if you are very tall.
After doing much research...online for a good ergonomic chair it came down to a few options that continually rated highly in reviews but it was difficult to test drive them. The Leap 2 seemed to have the least number of complaints out of the final shortlist, so purchased online and am happy with the result.
Purchased in April 2021 at Arki environments for $1,100.00.
A very pleasant experience dealing with ARKI Environments.
Great product (Leap V2 office chair) and the team were helpful and entirely professional assisting me over the phone and by email before, during and after the sale. Expensive but much cheaper than a HM Aeron and great value for a product of this quality. Would absolutely purchase from them again.
Purchased in August 2020 at Arki Environments for $997.50.
We are lucky at Telstra to have access to providers of different services and in tough times where we are locked down away from school/office/leisure environments, we all wanted to find a way to be comfortable in an uncomfortable situation. Well the team at ARKI came through and provided access to these office chairs which are comfortable and supportive. Kirsty from the team was ultra professional is ensuring potential COVID delivery delays were well managed.
Purchased in September 2020.

Love At First Sit.
When my aching back told me I needed an ergonomic chair, I hit the internet. Considering the cost of these things, I wanted to get it right so I researched for a couple of weeks before I pulled the trigger on a Steelcase Leap.
At first I was set on a Herman Millar Aeron but the reviews were all over the place. people either loved them or loathed them. You have to physically test one out to find out where you sit :-). Good luck with that, they're as rare as as hen's teeth here in Australia.
Further research bought me to the Ergohuman but that ...fizzled when I tried one in the flesh. To be fair it was actually labelled as an Ergo 1 but looked almost identical to the pictures of the Ergohuman I'd seen - and therein lies the problem. I couldn't pin the chair down to any one manufacturer. It seems there are multiple knockoff copies of these chairs, each with a similar sounding label, seemingly designed to confuse. I'm neither smart enough nor patient enough to sort through that mess. Finally I stumbled upon the Steelcase Leap. Unassuming looks, overwhelmingly positive reviews; it was a no brainer - for me at least. If you want something flashy that screams, 'Look at me, I'm high tech,' look elsewhere - plenty of them out there. Next problem was: how do I get hold of one? Living in a regional city, I couldn't just mosey off down to my local furniture store. Now, I don't know about anyone else but I'm uncomfortable with sending $1,000 plus into the ether, trusting that the recipients will honour their side of the bargain (been there, been done). In the end all I could do was, yes you guessed it, more research on the internet. To cut a long story shorter, I finally went with ARKI Environments (based in Brisbane). I'm relieved to be able to report that they didn't disappoint.
Purchased in June 2020 at ARKI Environments for $1,061.00.

A real competitor to Herman Miller
This chair is one of the best money can buy. It feels extremely well constructed, the padding is very comfortable, suitable for 8+ hours of use per day, highly adjustable, yet offers true support and comfort in every configuration.

Questions & Answers
Is there any bigger people that have tried out the standard steelcase leap v2 ? I'm 5'8 120kg, just wondering if it's an option for somebody my size, or maybe the gesture ? The price quoted on the plus was 3.5 grand; so i'm not too keen on that idea.
I'm around 72kg and the stand chair barely has enough padding for me.
