Step One Bamboo Underwear (page 5 of 7)
Boxer Brief (Longer), Trunk (Shorter)Reviewer Photos & Videos
Seriously great undies.
Have never reviewed a product before, these jocks are so seriously great that I’ve had to jump on and write one. I’ve got tree trunks for legs, always have a tough time buying leg related clothes, these bad boys fit perfectly, don’t ride up, keep everything where it’s meant to be and the Lycra panels really do make your legs glide together. No chaffing at all!! Got a 4 pack to start with, on day 5 after arrival I had to revert to a pair of the old ginch, felt like I’d strapped some sandpaper on.. So impressed that I’ve just dialled in and doubled my fleet. Don’t listen to any of the odd propaganda reviews; Do yourself a favour lads, take the dive, your getaway sticks will thank you!

Not worth the price tag
Bought these because of all the 5 star reviews with some hope in them delivering what they advertise, unfortunately for me that was not the case.
First pair came with holes in them, where was the quality control?!
They’re getting 3 stars because of how quickly they fixed the issue and sent me out a new pair, however they definitely do ride up, they definitely do not wick sweat away, they’re about as good as a 3 pack for the same price from Big W, guess I’ll keep looking.

Stop believing social media adverts!
These are rubbish and nothing special, all these clowns did was attach abit of extra lycra to your undies and jacked the price up for gullible fools to buy. Stop been cheap and buy decent brands and you will get a better fit, better quality and no riding up etc.

A giant crock of..
As soon as I put these so-called no ride up underwear on, and moved my legs, they moved 3cm up my legs, and kept riding up with every step I took. I want to cut them into a thousand pieces, but I can't afford to throw away my money any more than I already have. I'll have to put up with this sh!t, and wait for the blessed day when I can afford to replace them....

Paid but got nothing!
Ordered 2 pairs of grapefruit step ones on the 12th March. Received an email 8 days after the order to tell me that they were unable to ship due to the count being incorrect and no in longer stock.
Fast forward to the 12th of April around the time when Gumballs were first beginning to be advertised as the new limited edition colour and I ordered and paid for 2 pairs of gumballs. Enquired on the 30th of April when I hadnt received an email or a package and was assured that the package had left on the 15th despite not having received an ‘on t...Read more

Not worth the purchase price for claims made on the product.
Revised review (24/4/20). Bumped up one star for the customer service.
I always do fair reviews based on the price of a product. I'm not interested in bagging, negativity or unnecessary put down of companies. I was hoping these would work as I liked the feel of the first pair I got. They rose up about 50%, 100% of the time. I took the gamble and bought 5 more which was a mistake. They rode up 100%, 100% of the time. Look good and feel good, but in terms of the biggest selling point of "NEVER" riding up - they did exactly that all the t...Read more
ime. They either roll up (like dough coiling) or slide/push up. It isn't a sizing issue as I have a 31/32" waist (gym fit) which is a medium size. Paid $100 for 5 pairs, so now have thrown 6 pairs for $129 in the bin. The ads the company do in my opinion are great. Corny and meant to be cringe worthy. Unfortunately, it's all about marketing and not about the product. If you have a 32" waist you MUST purchase the large size as the sizing runs small. The trick to cost control is pumping products out of China using the least about of material as possible while bumping up the size label at the same time. Probably cost $1.50 to make each pair then putting a $29 price tag on each. Having worn the large size I was sent they probably rise up the leg about 30% of the way, so not perfect, but happy to compromise. Will probably purchase 2 more pairs simply as a variation from my other brands, and for the softness - but if you have 10 to 15 pairs of undies in your wardrobe, 3 of these would be the maximum you'd have. False advertising. Terrible product.
I honestly don't understand all the high ratings? They specify that the underwear does not ride up yet I bought 4 pairs and they all do..... false advertisement. Very expensive for what they are also. Won't consider them again.

Waste of money
The waist band folds and stays that way and the material is so thin they last only a month or so. Bamboo underwear by ‘Boody’ and much more practical and durable.

Really wanted these to be great, but they just aren’t.
Really disappointed in this underwear. I purchased 7 pairs and was so excited to get them but after 2 days I’m getting worse chaffing than before and sitting in a pool of sweat, the opposite to what’s advertised. The pouch at the front is too small for all your bits and pieces and you end up with your balls sitting directly on the lycra strip which is uncomfortable as hell and having the elastic band cutting across your old fella cutting off circulation. Then when sitting down, the pouch doesn’t contain anything but the top of your groin while ...Read more
everything that matters is grinding up and down on lycra. Such a shame as the bamboo part of the underwear feels great and I can totally see how these could be really comfortable, just very poorly designed. Plus the return policy is terrible, can’t return or get a refund if you’ve opened the packet. I don’t know about you but when I get new clothes I take them out of the pack, fold them up and put them in the drawer ready to wear when needed. Super disappointed, feel like I’ve thrown $150 down the drain :(4 comments

then it’s worth. I buy XL underwear for every other brand I’ve bought and never had a sizing issue before, so I doubt that is the case. If that is the case, then there’s an issue of the underwear not being true to size. I appreciate your quick response, if your company are willing to offer a refund on all 7 pairs that would be great, please let me know! If not I’ll just be gifting them to a friend and copping the loss.Greg T.Step One

Elastic curls like a rope around waist quickly.
The undies are super comfortable but with all pairs the elastic curls up like a rope so just end up going back to other brands that don’t do this. That’s the only draw back and if they got rid of the rope strangling and better elastic they quirk be perfect. Hope this helps you guys with product development.

self-proclaimed, self-hyped and total nonsense
Welcome Australia - to your latest scam.
Does absolutely everything they claim it wont. Dont waste your time or money.
- they sweat, even more so than regular cotton
- they ride up, just like the others, though this time its more frustrating as you step into them with higher expectations
- they curl at the waist band
- they have absolutely no room at the front.
So there you go. Honest review by an honest customer. Hopefully the rest of you wont be fooled like I was. Merry Xmas.

Great work, but please you need to make them for the larger gentry i.e. Aussie big guys?
Great advertisements and I am looking at purchasing many once the size range increases - PLEASE.
There is a HUGE market awaiting your manufacturing side and the quality is there so its "add a bit" and a new world awaits!

Once again step one I found even the longer boxer briefs in a larger size rode up straight away and were uncomfortable
Let down again, I would try the longer briefs in a medium instead of large but I feel it would be a waste of money, not sure why I'm having no luck with these

Issues with the waist band being too tight and doubling over
A family member purchased a pair for me due to the slick advertising. While the product was very comfortable, breathable etc I have found that the garment isn't (for me) really true to sizing. The elastic waist band tends to double over and not sit well. Annoying. Anyway, Step One seems to have great customer service and the ability to exchange or refund.

Step One sets out to makes men’s bamboo underwear with simple aims in mind: to be really comfy, to remove the ‘permanent front wedgie,’ and to fit well, all for a fair price.
With an impressive 4.7 star rating from almost 4,000 reviews, this bamboo underwear succeeds. Many happy men reported that their new underwear was exceptionally comfortable, that it fit them well, and that there was no riding up or chafing.
According to Step One, thanks goes to the bamboo fabric, which breathes well and wicks away moisture away to ‘keep you dry and comfortable all day.’ Step One credits the underwear's good fit to a 3D contoured pouch with elastic stitching, which supports the crotch area and stretches to fit.
Step One is an ethical company with BSCI certification, and they use organically grown and FSC certified bamboo.
