Frustrated with the waiting time.
I booked my car in for the aerial to be looked at as it was not picking up AM. It was booked for 3pm but was not looked at until 5pm. I had to wait, I did some shopping of an hour and upon returning to the shop the car was not looked at. I had to wait another hour in the shop and no chair was offered during this time.
I went away feeling quite frustrated and in the end they could not fix the problem.
Damaged my door speaker cover while installing dash cam
I booked my Mercedes clc 200 kompressor to have dash cam , reversing camera and in dash media player , and when I went to pick up my car I straight away noticed to broken speaker cover on driver side door . Long story short the owner of the business replaced my broken part and I was a happy customer
Some good, more not good though
Oct 2018 I bought pair of component speakers, pair of 3 way speakers and an amp. The amp was ex demo. In December 2018 I went back for double din dab head unit and Ford Focus facia. I never installed in the focus having turned the car over in June 2019 to a Kuga. I finally got around to installing speakers and amp but had the amp wiring performed by Sound Master Granville (closer to me) in Nov 2019. Amp was dead. So went into Strathfield car radio and they accepted that amp I bought 13 months earlier had only just had its first install and that...they would recognise warranty if needed. (that was great). Anyway they wanted to ascertain it was a dead unit, so had to bring car back another time. (More tolls and petrol). Confirmed it was an internal short and would credit me the cost. Put towards new amp which they connected up. Previous evening I tagged every wire. Glad I did. On pickup Danny noted the previous wiring had power and signal cords running together (I admit that isnt good practice), it didnt sound right and recommended they rewire the lot. . I got home and I checked speaker terminal block. All wrong. (BLAUPUNKT was L-,L+,R-,R+. Replacement Pioneer was L+,L-,R-,R+. So wires 1 2. 3 4 L to R were done 1243. Shouldve been 2134. I swapped and sounded fine. So Im assuming original wiring was correct. (If I hadnt had tagged the wires I wouldve been caught between two providers saying theyd done right). I called Strathfield next day and was informed they check phasing and dont rely on what was previously wired. That wasnt my experience. So in summary they recognised warranty for item 13 months old (yeah), but had put a dead item out of the box back into a box for clearance sale (boo), and tried getting me to get them to do a re wire (boo). Maybe if I went with them for a complete purchase and install they might have been more attentive. Anyway not sure now if I (or one of my children) ever have a bigger install Id ever go back.

6 out of 10. Fantastic sound.
I made my purchase over the phone, but everything, including the price of all the individual components was e-mailed to me. The only problems i have had with it are the Subwoofer packing it in after less than 3 months and the crossovers being a pain to install inside a 2013 Ford Fiesta front doors. The Sub has been gone now for nearly 6 weeks for repair under warranty, but i am informed it will be back very soon. Apart from the long wait, Phil could not have been a better installer and person to get on with. He lives a fair distance away from...me and when i told him that my left front door wouldn't open from the inside, he knew exactly what he had done and offered to come back and fix it, but a friend if mine helped me with removing the door panel and we reconnected the mechanism. I have read some negative reports on here about Strathfield, but most of them are in the southern states and i am in Brisbane, but to be fair, apart from the long wait to get my Sub back, i can't complain too much. Phil even fixed the vibrations in my front doors from the Crossovers when he came back to take the Sub away for repairs. Maybe i got a good installer who knows what he is doing. If nothing else goes wrong, 4 stars. I'll post more after i get my Sub back.
Strathfield have wide range of electronic products to choose from. The range of car audio systems is quite decent, although the quality of their installations is very average. They have a variety of products to suit different budgets, but their prices are not as competitive as other stores such as JB Hi-fi or Bing Lee. It is worth having a look at Strathfield to see what they have on offer and to get an idea of the price of a product, but you're most likely going to get a better deal elsewhere.

On Saturday 23 AugMy Daughter went into the Morley store and purchased car stereo item. When she returnt home we found that the amp was incorrect for the Bass spaekers she also purchased, upon which I took her back to the store to exchange for the RIGHT one. We found that they didn't have another new one but we did find a display one on the wall which we asked for, after being told we could have that and waiting 10 minutes seemed a lot longer, we were told when he reappeared NO we have not got the box and we have sold it??.
So we settled for a...

The labanese owner is so nice.
Its in Miranda mall and the arabic guy is so coprative
As said in the Cons, Strathfield used to be a more focused store. They recently intorcuded bargin or low end range of electrical including TV's, home entertainment. I don't know what Strathfield's angle is, by this I mean I don't know what kind of customer they want to attract. For Mobile's you are better off going to your local Sunday market place.
Good for car audio - supply onle (I don't like Strathfield's installs)
Good for cheap TV's / DVD players
It used to be better: Better brands, better service, bigger range. Now it is just a bargin basement store with salespeople who try to sell you anything.

I am about to get an Audio upgrade from Strathfield in Brisbne on Monday. From what i've read on here about them, they don't rate too highly. Can anyone inform me of any problems or good features with the Brisbane business before i spend 1,600 bucks?
Can't speak for Brisbane as I'm not from there.
The guys here (SCR Sydney) are pretty good, but every car has it's issues especially new ones as car manufacturers don't consider after market installations as part of their build process.
My advice is to make sure you take pictures before and after of your car, and ensure that you have something in writing that clearly defines who will cover damages if any are caused. This way you can clearly demonstrate a problem (before and after) and have agreement at the outset on who is responsible.
Don't just get a hand shake and verbal commitment.
Also ensure that if you are having any leads from the batter run, that they use proper heat proof covering or run it behind the firewall covering in the engine bay, otherwise they wires melt and short out.
Look at Dynamat on the doors as well, not just the speaker area. Makes a big difference to acoustics, and keeps road noise out.. Even when no playing tunes.
Thanks Noah. Have had the job done and everything is ok. I hovered over the bloke and It took him 7 hours to do it, but he did use all the correct gauge shielded wiring, especially to the Sub. New speakers went back in where the original one's were, with a slight modification and had to drill a hole to mount each crossover because the panels wouldn't go back on. Had to pull the back seat out to run the Sub wiring through to the hatch, but a good professional job. You're right about after market. The only place he could fit the Speaker Amp was under the left front seat, which makes it awkward to get at it to set the levels but that's really no problem. Strange there should be so many bad reports, unless this bloke knew exactly what he was doing. Thanks for you're answer mate.
