Critique of my solar experiences

The installation was painless with minimal interruption. The job looks very professional. Thank you.

I presume that the last part of this review pertains to the Solar Panel company. The company did not complete the job properly thereby causing only half the output that I was expecting. 6 months later they corrected the fault.

The 2nd battery is working fine

The first battery died after a power outage and I was advised that this had happened with other units. I cannot fault the service from Sunbank Solar and just hope that the 2nd battery keeps on going!  Show reply

Very happy

Prior to installation we were provided with full disclosure of the installation process and the benefits of having a solar battery installed.
Installation was professionally performed. The installer ensured his work was to the required standard and cleaned the work site on completion. Show reply

Satisfactory

The tradies did their job, minimal mess to clean up after. One fail was the Warning/Instruction Signs did not remain attached to the wall (brick) I have regaled them myself with Contact adhesive, one has since come off so I have glued in to the metal battery cover to see if that works better than on the brick. Show reply

Not customer focussed

The business says satifying its customer is important, but clelary it isn't.

I had a Hive battery system installed last month, and it failed its independent inspection. In response the business bookd a tecnician, who can't come for another month, because they're busy intsalling new customer systems.

Clearly, connection of new customers is more important than satifying existing cutomers, which is fine for a business, but invalidates the claim that satifying cutomer is important. This is further validated by their telephone support system, which priorities new customers over current installations over problems with installed systems.

too early to tell

very easy they had a free wall with no issues. They were fast it only took about 1 hour and then they showed me on the app in his phone my production now just waiting for the app to come to Android  Show reply

All good so far

Installer was very informative and efficient, explaining the process well.
Final proof will be in the pudding once set up with VPP after smart meter installed.

Well worth it!

The entire process from sales to installation was fantastic. Knowledgeable sales people who are happy to spend time discussing the different battery types and which is the best match for your solar panels and household needs.
The installation team were fantastic. They were professional, able to answer additional questions and cleaned up all their packaging so everything was left neat and tidy.

Professional all the way

The installers arrived early (around 8am) spent time assessing the best position to ensure they didn't cause any damage to the house but had the battery as close as possible to the necessary objects - Electricity meters, Solar panel box on the house wall, etc.
They worked quickly but carefully ensuring no damage was done. Apart for a short break for lunch they worked through to 4:30pm which included rechecking all the fittings, checking that i understood how to use the app to check the information from the system and cleaning up to make sure the area was even tidier than when they arrived.

Professional and proud to be able to complete the job to my fullest satisfaction. Show reply

Love my new batteries

I added a new battery system to my existing solar system. It was so easy. Just took a phone call and everything was handled for me. The installers were fantastic, nothing was too much trouble for them. When they left everything was cleaned up. I was surprised when a month later they came back to install an upgrade. Quote for empowering homes program

Requested a quote for the empowering homes program to access subsidy and got a quote for the 'pilot program with great discount' (Which was actually no discount at all) from a very pushy sales person and no mention of the empowering homes program. Again common story of wanting a deposit immediately. I've brought this behaviour to the attention of the Empowering homes NSW program. Very disappointed that any company still thinks these behaviours are acceptable especially when they are in the very limited list of authorised suppliers.

The pre install was very smooth and I was kept informed at all stages of the process including the install date.

Pushy Sales person

I received a letter explaining the offer.
Rang the company and after 30 to 40 minutes they were offering an Everready battery for $8000. The salesperson Tracy explained to me over the phone.
Having being burnt before I requested the offer to be sent by email.
They wanted the $500 deposit which I wasn’t going to do without doing some research.
To date no email.
Be very careful- Caveat emptor.

Customer Service - 15 Business Days For Refund

Signed up for a $13000 battery system. After paying a 20% deposit was told that AusNet would not accept power from my property back into the power grid, hence the system they sold me was useless. Requested refund on the 30th November 2020. It's now the 16th December 2020 and I'm still waiting for my deposit to be returned. The pushy salesman was happy to take and process my deposit on the spot, but obviously not when it comes to handing it back. Very disappointing experience overall.

A new experience

In the beginning i found that the number given for Sunbank was never answered.
You could leave a message and there would not be any response.
Once Katherine made contact with me everything has been excellent also Isobel.The process once in train was fine.
I had a gentleman come out and decide where the battery was to be placed and by then i also had a date for the installation.
The installer came out and the battery was installed.
Once Katherine made contact the process became seamless.
I am enjoying having the graph that i can check my usage and the battery storage

A welcomed addition to our solar panels

The battery panel and additional fittings were installed in a morning by Sunbank Solar Batteries. The contractor was very professional explaining how the battery system would work and also removed any boxes/ refuse left over from the installation. There have been no issues dealing with Sunbank. They notified Powercore who service the power lines. They notified our current supplier indicating we were transferring our power supplier. Show reply

Everyready battery 5.1kw

Installation of the battery to my existing solar system was done with minimal fuss. Install was very tidy and I am happy with the results so far, as my electricity bill has already dropped, even though I haven't had a full bill cycle as yet. Look forward to seeing the next bill, which I expect will be zero.

They cancelled my order and havent returned the deposit

In 1/10/20 I responded to a letter to qualify for batteries. The salesman was very enthusiastic and despite receiving the 60c feed in tariff I was accepted and had to pay a deposit immediately of $550. I sent all the the photos same day. The next day the company rang to say it would not be worthwhile to proceed given my feed in tariff, however, it wold be 14 days before the deposit would be returned. It is now over 5 weeks and no deposit. I have emailed and rang them and the receptionist was someone who took phone calls for many companies. I am concerned
