Double Bed discontinued ??
Bought at the best price from The Good Guys (Geelong) and so far very pleased with the blanket. Has a good feature of "turbo" heat-up in 15 mins, great if you are home late or forget to switch it on. Only use the heat for warm up and not during the night. Auto switch off after 65 mins which is a good safety feature. So far am pleased with the product.
Seems OK - so far anyway - except for one thing ....
Bought this electric blanket very recently for my 90 year old mother, gets nice and hot on the 9 setting which she loves. However, the controller itself is not at all user-friendly as far as being able to SEE the settings easily. It’s even hard for a fully sighted person. So, if the user is even slightly sight-challenged, as my elderly mother is, this is rather a downside to the product as I feel the controller unit should be much, much easier to read. Having read some of these reviews here (which of course I am now wishing I had read befor...e buying this blanket), I must say I am surprised no one else has mentioned the same thing. AND ... I sure hope she gets better longevity from the blanket than others appear to have had!! Fingers crossed. (Sunbeam, what have you done??!! Your products used to be so good/reliable.) UPDATE: Just one year on and the controllers are dodgy. I have no faith in Sunbeam blankets at all now!
dont waste money
The flat connection plug on the surface of the double bed blanket is positioned so it is directly under your shoulder and very uncomfortable to lay on. Not all Sunbeam electric blankets are like this. I returned mine to the store for a refund of $119.00. Then I went to Big W and bought a Double/Queen Sunbeam Quick and Cosy fitted one for $79 and its wonderful the flat plug connector is further down the blanket and there's no way you could lay on it and its closer to the edge too. This blankets heats up super fast and i'm extremely happy with it.
