Not a product I would buy again. Lids dont fit properly !
I bought the Food Saver all excited about being able to keep food fresher for longer. Well the containers worked for a while until hey presto.... the lids on the containers suddenly did not seal well!!! On the odd occasion one of them did seal then in a couple of days the button pops UP !! . Another problem is getting the lids off so need something to prize them open with. I normally have to use a strong spoon/spatula.
Not happy I phoned customer service at Sunbeam to ask if I could buy new seals for the lids. The answer was no and I was...
Purchased at The Good Guys.
Container lids a poor fit and kept popping off. Sunbeam customer service poor.
I bought the upright unit from Myer last month. I liked the 5 bags that came with the machine and bought extra. All have worked well. I liked the small container that came with the unit and it worked well. I bought three additional containers from Harvey Norman. None of these worked properly. It was as if the lids didn’t fit the bases properly and n amount of trying to snap them on would work. They kept popping off, both for me and store staff (as I returned them today @$64 for the 3) and would not hold a vac seal. I also tried using the air tu...be sealer on my regular Sunbeam Vac unit (that just seals bags) and the original one from the pack from Myer worked and the other three did not. Put in an online Customer Query with Sunbeam that had a 3 day turnaround (it said) after 2 weeks, had not heard back. Tried calling Customer Service, which is operated out of another country. The service agent was very hard to hear and it was difficult communicating the nature of the issue, as he didn’t seem to know about the product and THEN the call ceased (mid conversation) and a recording came on asking me to rate my customer satisfaction, but would not accept my rating of “1”. Hung up and returned the pack to Harvey Norman. Cranky now.
Purchased in March 2020 at Harvey Norman.
Questions & Answers
Hi I have just received the VS1300 and I’m very excited to use it however I was after one that came with bags you could meat in and store in the freezer, does this model have freezer bags you can buy online for this?
Hello Belinda Wheeler.
A number of retailers sell the bags online, see them below:
You say only hard type of cheese should be stored in vacuum containers. Can you define a bit more for example are Gouda and Edam classified as hard? What about Brie and Camembert?
How can I stop the small hard disc on the reuseable zipper bags from coming off the bags as they will not seal properly. Can I use an adhesive to re-attach them?
