DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!!
This is one of the worst companies I have EVER dealt with.
Their workmanship is SO bad, I am shocked they are still in business.
I had so much damage done to my roof it was some of the worst work I have ever seen undertaken.
The company then pushes you between different people, who promise to call back, but never do.
The issues are not sorted and I have now had to threaten legal action.

Firstly, if this review is for the service from Jenny when assisting with my support call on the 7th of January, then no issues and her service was great.
The installation process itself has been far from the same.
Firstly at the time of installation, 2 panels were taken away as they would not fit on the roof. Had I not seen them being returned, then I’m not sure that I would have known or been refunded. Even head office were not aware until I advised them.

after 2 weeks. I needed to organise this myself. 3 weeks from installation, I was asked to provide photos of the installation to allow for the claim of government rebates. This involved me needing to climb on my roof. I’m not sure why I needed to do this when the installers could have taken these.1 comment

DO NOT TOUCH THIS COMPANY
As per many negative reviews this company has them at the end of their reviews on there website. This call centre isn’t in Australia and you will get hassled by someone who appears to be in India. Be prepared to be hassled!! Take your deposit and you have to fight with them to get it back or cancel your quote. They do not know what they are doing and are India sales people not experts. They sent photos of a layout for solar panels that wasn’t my house!!!
They use Australian sports people but DO NOT TOUCH THEM!!

Harassment
Didn't go with Sunboost in the end as I was sick of being harassed! Brett form Sunboost (not sure where this call centre is but doubt its Australia as accents are thick!) called at least once a day. When I refused to answer the calls he changed his number to private. Even when I told him to please not call me and that we had decided not to proceed he still kept calling. I hung up on him numerous times! We actually paid more and went with another local company who weren't harassing us and who seemed to know what they were talking about in regards to installation etc rather than doing an intense sales pitch!

Pathetic service
Ordered the system 12/11/2020. Promised installation was between 23/11/20 & 07/12/20. Called this morning with the old chestnut excuse that solar can not be installed as the installer hurt himself an that it couldn’t be rescheduled until February.
I would not recommend this company.

12 months in my 6.6kw 24 panel produces no more than 2.8kw on a clear 40 degree day. Foreign call centre. Dodgy panels
Initial sale and installation process was easy. But 12 months on my 24 panel 6.6kw system with a 5kw inverter produces a maximum of 2.8kw on a clear day with no shade in Newcastle NSW.
Customer support from what I can understand ( very thick accents) tell me to set up accounts and link my inverter to them so they can monitor my system for 3 days before they'll do anything, they emailed me 15 plus pages of instruction s to do this...I consider myself pretty tech savvy, I still haven't figured out how to do this. The instructions just don't work....Read more

Sale was seamless, installation not so great, been waiting 2 months for installation.
I signed up for Sunboost in early October and had a two storey installation booked in for the 26th October. Installation day arrived and the contractors to do the install said it was too dangerous to install as they needed a scissor lift to get to the second storey roof as they only brought a ladder. I would have thought that knowing it was going to be a two storey install they would have already organised that. awaiting documents of proof and repairs to be fixed
It appears I was to early in giving Sunboost some praise after an inspection of the roof area , it has been noted the the cables connecting the PV arrays are not secured to timbers so as to pass through roof and have support
Please every one make sure that the roof area is checked , I am still waiting for documents , Sunboost says its all legal but I have not received these documents which under the Clean Energy Council are a requirement
All complex systems require a user manual for the customer. Grid-connected PV systems are no different.

Deceptive and incompetent operator
1. Sunboost knowingly concealed the actual cost of installing the solar system by choosing not to tell me about the cost of upgrading my meter board without which the system is useless. I ended up paying $2700 and spent two months fixing it. Had I been told this essential cost, I would not have gone ahead. Sunboost deprived me of choices by deception. They were well aware of my meter board as I sent them its clear pictures right from the beginning.

Don’t be fooled by Allan Border ...
Firstly they arrived 4 MONTHS late, then they worked on my roof with a harness connected to nothing. They drilled a hole directly through the roof instead of hiding it under the flashing. It’s clearly visible from the window inside and is such an eye saw .
Then Sunboost refuse to return to make the work good or repair the original work.

Very Disappointing
Most horrible experience. Worst customer service. Their executives have been just trained to get contracts and take advance and then just backtrack on what they agree to do. Stay away from Sunboost.

Please don’t used this company for your solar installation.problems with installation and no response.
Broken tiles and leaking roof aftet installation. Hallway and bedroom needs to be repaired and painted. No responsiblity and rectication from supplier. Very disappointed with the solar panel provider. Wouldn’t recommend this company to anyone looking to have solar panel installation.

Rip off company
A few weeks after being sold a system at a special discount price your special price suddenly drops by $400.00
This is totally unscrupulous and [name removed] should be totally ashamed of his association with your outfit. I thought he would have more class.

They gave us a qoute then started trying to make us buy products they would have otherwise bought themselfs. If I were you I would never buy anything from them they take you to the last step and then start
introducing random prices for different things.
I would recommend you go with other companies such as arise solar and solar secure.

Sunboost end cost
This is not a good company to deal with. Alas I don't actually have the system. I was quoted in November 2019 I paid a $400 deposit 3rd of Dec The solar was to go on by the end of December 2019. In January 2020 I called and they said they couldn't do it because they couldn't get an installer out to my location. and it wouldn't be done until Feb 2020 and you guessed it Feb came and went no install, they blamed covid -19 and said it would be done in March. At the end of March they told me I needed to pay another $1000 for a service fuse. In April...Read more
I asked for my money back. and tried to get it back for weeks with no luck. At the end of April they contacted me ans said they would reduce the amount for the service fuse to $500, but I would have to pay it up front. In May I paid another $500, and was given another contract. And it was going up in June. In June nothing happened in July I called every Monday and they told me the installer would call me by the end of the week. but he never did. At the end of July they wanted photos and measurements of the roof which I took and sent. They then said the roof was flat and I would have to pay another $800 to have the frames put on, but apart from the the roof was fine and supports were okay to handle the panels. But the guy who came and quoted me in Nov of 2019 knew that and said they would put frames on the roof, so I assumed that was in the quote. I refused to pay and demanded my money back. In August they agreed to pay for the frames. But I had to have another new contract. which I signed on the 8th of August and the solar was to go up in 3 weeks making it the end of August. The 15th of September they finally came to put up the solar. But the installer said the roof didn't have enough supports for the panels and he couldn't do it. I rang Sunboost and told them I wanted my money back and they said they would return the original $400 but not the $500 I had paid for the service fuse. 2 years in a row they ring me all hours of the day even after I’ve requested to be removed from their phone listing and reported them for harassment. Stop calling me, [name removed] the rude sales rep.

Be careful
I have had issues with this company; I paid a deposit for the installation of solar panels then discovered that they hadn't factored in that my house was south facing so I had to cancel the installation after the contractors (who arrived with all the panels) said in good conscience they couldn't install. This was about two and a half years ago and I was informed that I couldn't get my deposit back. Then I was contacted by Sunboost out of the blue at the end of August 2020 asking if I still wanted to install panels. I said no, but could I have my deposit back. Of course you can, I was told, just give us your account details and we'll reimburse you. This was on the 25 August. And of course I didn't get my reimbursement. Very unprofessional.

I was told installation would happen on 12 January. Three installers showed up and scoped the job (this is something other companies do BEFORE the date of installation and, if they are operating professionally, BEFORE they agree the price).
The installers made some comments about the need to run conduit and have an electrician to install.
Today (Saturday) I had a call with Sunboost telling me the job would cost a further $500 because it would take a day to install the wiring to the inverter and meter box. There was some (gobsmacking) comment regarding if it were not installed according to legal requirements, I could not use the solar system if it were inspected by relevant authorities.
I explained I had been offered a price, agreed a contract, expected the system would be installed in accordance with legal requirements and I would not be paying a cent more. I have asked Sunboost to send me a firm plan regarding installation by Monday, at the agreed price and, if not, I advised Sunboost I would have to consider my options.
Completely unsatisfactory performance to date. Hopefully Sunboost will redeem itself.

One of the 3 installers was the electrician on my job. They cant install it without an electrician. I had my site inspection on the day of install ebven after I asked for one prior. The electrician used conduit to run wire which is a requirement for all cabling anyway.
I did have another company come and do a site inspection but the person who came was rude and basically told me he was wasting his time with me. He also quoted almost 3 times the price for a similar system

We signed our contract with Sunboost on 13/11/2020 and paid our $200 deposit. We were supposed to get the system installed before Christmas but Sunboost Reps would just ring a day before installation and cancel. We have made endless calls to them and been transferred to installers who tell you that they will be coming to install and then they don’t turn up. Then we were told that our house was too high for the installers. We complained and was told that a representative from the installers would come and have a look at our house today then install the next day. We are still waiting. I wonder if Alan Border knows how this company really operates?

I didn’t have such issues. We had few cancellation due to rain on those dates . Who was the sales person. We had Mark. Talk to him and he will sort you issues.

Sunboost don’t let you talk to anyone but who they want you to talk to. It would be a waste of time asking for Mark. He probably doesn’t handle my area. We are in North Brisbane.

Oh well, you probably forgot to mention that, customer need to pay 300 deposit in order to secure the lowest price. Then it is wonderfully come with 10 days cooling period. customer will get REFUND with cooling period. Amid fee $150 apply. Wow easily, regardless what, sunboost gets 150 with every customer that they loop in thro “10 days cooling period”
